MemberHi Kerry,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re still having trouble here! At the moment, designating a category as a child of another parent category is the only way to create a subcategory. Our event categories are defined by the same processes as standard WordPress post categories–you can read more about these on the WordPress Codex.
https://codex.wordpress.org/Posts_Categories_SubPanel
Once you’ve specified a parent category for a new or existing category, that subcategory will be moved beneath its parent and will be indented by a horizontal line, as seen here:

When creating a new subcategory using the form on the Event Categories page, does the subcategory not appear as shown above? Any details you can provide on the steps you’ve followed would be a huge help! π
Thank you!
September 28, 2017 at 7:55 pm in reply to: Events Tickets Plus license renewal "refunded" and not active, NEED HELP #1356546Caroline
MemberHi Waseem,
Thanks for taking the time to reach out, and I’m so sorry for the trouble here! In cases where orders are cancelled due to a failed payment or user intervention, our licensing software may sometimes interpret these actions as refunds. This is clearly a mistake, so I’ve gone ahead and reactivated this license key for you. You should be all set to continue using Event Tickets Plus from here–sorry again for the inconvenience!
Thanks again, and please don’t hesitate to follow up if there’s anything else that we can do for you! π

September 28, 2017 at 1:16 pm in reply to: My Events Calendar Pro license did not update when I renewed #1356413Caroline
MemberHi Richard,
Thanks for reaching out–sorry to hear that you’re having some trouble with your license renewals here! On reviewing your recent purchase with us, it appears that your Events Calendar PRO license key is registered under a different user account than the one used to make this purchase. License keys are linked to specific user accounts within our databases, and renewals attempted from an account other than the purchasing account will fail as seen here. You can read more about this on our Knowledgebase here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/renewing-your-license/
If you’d prefer to continue using the Events Calendar PRO license key on your other account, we can renew this license for you manually, or we’d be glad to generate a new equivalent license on this account so that both licenses can be renewed from a single account in the future. Let us know what your preference is here, and we’ll get that taken care of for you right away! π
Thank you!

MemberHi Katelyn,
Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us here! This error message is most commonly seen when attempting to move your existing license key from a development/staging site to a live site or when the server for your existing site has otherwise changed. If you need to clear a previous activation for your license key, you can do this right from your account on TheEventsCalendar.com:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-your-license-keys/
Once you’ve removed the activation for your development site, you’ll be able to activate this key again on your live site. Let us know if you should have any questions or concerns as you’re working through the steps here! π
Cheers, and thanks again!

MemberHi Anwar,
Thanks for reaching out! That’s right–our Eventbrite Tickets plugin works great with the free version of The Events Calendar, and no other plugins are required to make this combination function properly. Simply purchase and install both of these plugins, connect Eventbrite Tickets to your Eventbrite account, and you’ll be all set. You’ll find all the information you need to get going in our New User Primers:
- The Events Calendar –Β https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-the-events-calendar-and-events-calendar-pro/
- Eventbrite Tickets –Β https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-eventbrite-tickets/

September 28, 2017 at 10:54 am in reply to: Event Tickets Plus Autofill Woocommerce Billing form with Attendde Information #1356322Caroline
MemberHi Pablo,
Thanks for reaching out! The simplest way to achieve this would be to limit your ticket purchases to registered users only, as mentioned here in our overview of Event Tickets Plus settings:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/configuring-event-tickets/#login
Setting this requirement and requiring users to register before purchasing tickets will allow them to log in prior to purchasing and specify their own billing details. This setting can usually be found at the following location after logging in:
[yoursiteURL.com]/my-account/edit-address/
Once a billing address has been added to the user’s account, these details will be automatically filled in for all future ticket purchases. π
I hope that helps to get you started here! Thanks again, and let us know if you should have any other questions!

MemberHi Jeff,
Thanks for reaching out–great question! When using Event Tickets Plus with WooCommerce, yes, each ticket sold will receive its own unique ticket ID in your database and attendee records. These IDs are comprised of an abbreviation of the event name and a number denoting the sequential number of that ticket type. For example, the 3rd ticket sold for an event titled “Tim’s Birthday Party” would receive the ticket ID TBP-3. If all three tickets were bought in a single order, each of the three tickets would still receive a unique ID number–so you’d have TBP-1, TBP-2, and TBP-3. π
Does that help to answer your question here? Let me know if I can assist with anything else! Cheers, and thanks again!
September 28, 2017 at 10:39 am in reply to: Continuous Export of Events as they Get Listed? #1356305Caroline
MemberHi Shane,
Thanks for reaching out–glad you asked about this! While the most conventional use of our Export Events button is for downloading static ICS files to import into third-party application, you can use this very same button to grab a live feed of your events, just as you’ve described here. Simply copy the URL from this button and paste it as a new feed URL into your application of choice. With most browsers and operating systems, you can copy a URL from a link or button by right-clicking or Ctrl-clicking the link, then choosing the “Copy Link” option from the pop-up menu.
For reference, your feed URL should look something like this:
[yourcalendarURL.com]/?ical=1&tribe_display=month
Give it a try, and let us know if you should run into any issues as you’re getting things set up! π Cheers, and thanks again for stopping by!
September 28, 2017 at 10:32 am in reply to: Can I use two different slugs for different event categories? #1356302Caroline
MemberHi Gisella,
Thanks for reaching out! At the moment, there is no way to change the base URL slug depending on the category of events that is being displayed. However, you can select a URL slug to be shared across all of your event types, then link to each event category to display a calendar with only events from that category. An example of a category-specific calendar can be seen here on our WP Shindig demo site:
http://wpshindig.com/events/category/wp-meetups/
For more information on event categories and how to work with them, you can check out our Knowledgebase article below! I’d also be glad to answer any specific questions you might have about how to use categories on your site. π

I hope that helps to get you on your way here! Thanks again, and let us know if you should have any other questions!

MemberHi Evan,
Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us here! Our Event Tickets Plus plugin does not handle payment processing or order management tasks strictly on its own–rather, it’s paired with an e-commerce platform of your choice, such as WooCommerce, for the bulk of these efforts. For users who wish to process payments offline, we typically recommend the WooCommerce Cash on Delivery gateway. You can read more about this payment option on WooCommerce’s documentation here:
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/cash-on-delivery/
Recurring events and event series of the type you’ve described here are supported by the event series features of our premium calendar add-on, Events Calendar PRO. However, support for adding tickets to event series with Event Tickets Plus is not yet fully implemented at this time. You’ll want to keep the following caveats in mind when using this combination of plugins for recurring event tickets:
- Tickets that are applied to an event series will apply to the entire event series without exception. Tickets that are purchased on the first day of an event series will look and function identically to tickets that are purchased on the last day. There’s no way to differentiate between the two.
- Tickets that are purchased for an event series can only be checked in one time during the entire event series. If an attendee checks in on a given day within a series and returns for a later date in the same series with the same ticket, their ticket will be unable to be checked in again.
It’s worth considering the above when determining whether the current implementation will work for your needs. Our developers are hard at work finalizing full support for ticketing on recurring events–while we’re unable to provide a timeline for when this feature might become available, we hope to have some good news to share on this front soon! π
I hope that helps to get you started here! Let us know if you should have any other questions or concerns. Cheers, and thanks again!

MemberHi Kerry,
Thanks for following up to clarify–so sorry for my misunderstanding here! When creating a new category from the Event Categories section, you can select a Parent Event Category from the drop-down menu to designate a parent for the category you’re creating. This will register your new category as a subcategory of the specified parent. Existing categories can also be converted into subcategories in a similar fashion. Simply hover over any category in the provided list, click the Edit link that appears beneath the category title, and select the new parent for your event before saving your changes.
Does that help to answer your question here? Let me know! π Thanks again!

MemberHi Daniele,
You’re very welcome–happy to assist! As Event Tickets Plus relies on a third-party e-commerce platform for all payment processing and order management tasks, any payment gateway that is supported by WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads can be used with Event Tickets Plus. Many payment gateways are available for processing credit card payments with either of these plugins. For more information on supported payment gateways, please refer to the documentation for your plugin of choice.
- WooCommerce –Β https://woocommerce.com/product-category/woocommerce-extensions/payment-gateways/
- Easy Digital Downloads –Β https://easydigitaldownloads.com/downloads/category/extensions/gateways/
Thanks again, and let us know if you should have any other questions or concerns here! π

MemberHi Luke,
Thanks for reaching out! You’ve got it right–with the exception of CSV-based imports, event imports of all types are handled by our Event Aggregator add-on. This add-on operates as an extension of our free plugin The Events Calendar, so you don’t need to purchase Events Calendar PRO just to use Event Aggregator. Feel free to compare our two calendar offerings and select the one that’s the best fit for your needs!
If you’re not sure what the differences are between our two calendar plugins, we’ve provided a feature breakdown on the Events Calendar PRO product page:
https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/
We’d be glad to answer any specific questions that you might have, as well! π Thanks again, and please don’t hesitate to follow up if you should have any other questions!
