Good evening Delinda and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thanks so much for getting in touch!

I’m afraid that we’re not equipped to provide email or phone support. Even to our premium forums members.

At the time of writing, support is provided:

    1. In the wordpress.org forums for our free plugins users: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/the-events-calendar
    2. In our premium forums for our premium add-ons customers.

But, the good news is that you are still welcome to consult this forum and all our premium forums to your liking and browse it for solutions, snippets and tutorials.

In fact, I would start by taking a look here: http://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-the-events-calendar-and-events-calendar-pro/. Following this guide (and the linked ones should allow you to accomplish a solid calendar setup.

If you’re a current premium license holder for one of our premium offerings, please log in to your account and submit a post to the appropriate forum for the affected product.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Kathryn and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I am wondering if moving our license key (when we’re ready) will also move the calendar events?

The short answer is no. The calendar license and the events are kept completely separate.

Or, is there an import/export function?

    Yes, there is.

Best of all, you have a couple of ways to achieve this. Here are a couple of options:

    1. Using WordPress export tools: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-wordpress-export-tools-to-migrate-events-content/
    2. Using a CSV file: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/importing-data-from-a-csv-file/
    3. Using our Event Aggregator service can let you keep both sites perfectly in sync with one another automatically (using the “Other URL” option): https://theeventscalendar.com/product/event-aggregator/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Paula and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

You are right, the attendee data editor plugin broke as a result of the complete Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus redesign. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this glitch.
We are actively working on a solution for this.

The good news is that we are working on a fix for this.

Alas, I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed, as it’s in the development team’s hands now.
They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release.

But you will be contacted as soon as a fix is available.
Thank you for your patience as we see this through.

In the meantime, the only option is to downgrade both Event Tickets (4.5.7) and Event Tickets Plus (4.5.6) to a previous version

Aafter a backup of your database, I recommend reading the following: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/downgrading-plugin-past-version/

Good evening Graham and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

Does your WordPress plugin have the same issue, or is it smart enough to cater for different timezones?

We are glad to report we do not have the same issue.

In fact, you have quite a few ways you can control the timezone of the events with our plugins: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/working-with-timezones/

Of course, we will be glad to help out in the process.
We also have a pretty extensive Knowledge base if you have any other specific questions.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Good evening Julie and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the message you have been getting while using a duplicate post plugin.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Could you tell me which version of Avada you are using ?

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your Avada child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

Secondly, typically these duplications plugin do a great job at duplicating events, but not necessarily at duplicating the ticket aspect of them.

The preferred workflow would be to first create the ticketless event you want to duplicate, duplicate it and individually add the tickets in each event.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Max and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I highly recommend reading the 3 following articles on translation:

When translation file strings are not kicking in, it is usually caused by one of the following things:

    1. Your translation files are not up to date
    2. You are using some customized translation files that have been placed in the /wp-content/languages/ or /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder. These might not be updated and will override any other file.
    3. The strings are translated, but are considered “fuzzy”

In the first 2 cases, the solution is to update your translation files using the pot file. You can do this by using the Poedit software and heading to Catalog > Update from pot file.

In the last case, you will need to make them “unfuzzy” using Poedit.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Gil and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

Ideally, I would need a copy of the theme to investigate this.

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend the following non-reply email for that purpose: [email protected]

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

The good news is that there are other ways to gain full power on your site’s look and feel, there  I would highly recommend the following:

Good evening Ruby and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you have encountered capturing attendee information the way you intended. I would love to help you with this topic.

    1. I limited the free ticket so that only one can be purchased per order, but I have multiple orders where 2 free tickets were bought together. Is this some bug?

I am not sure how you limited ticket purchase to 1, but I would love to learn more about this.

Could you share what you did as well as the details (screenshots) of the Edit Ticket section of your event ?

Additionally, could you tell me which version of Avada you are using ?

Could you please also send me a copy of the latest version of your Avada child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

    2. For people who bought multiple tickets, regardless of free or paid, I only have the information for the person placing the order. How do I collect each attendees info? This seems like basic functionality to me, am I missing an option somewhere?

Normally, the attendee information is requested for each attendee, not only the person purchasing the ticket.

The only case where Event Tickets Plus’ attendee info capture does not work well is when the customers increase the quantity of tickets from within the cart. This is because the attendee info is not captured as part of the WooCommerce process, but rather as part of the single event page.

You could apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/075787fd6b427e1c47be0d756ca5b26c

But first to be extra safe, before making any changes to your functions.php file, you should make a backup of that file.

    Hang in there!

    Good evening Mike,

Thank you for taking the time to write back.

I totally understand where you are coming from.
In fact, it is best practice to always test the heck out of any new plugins in a safe environment (for conflicts among other things). If you have a dev or testing environment, I would highly recommend that.

So in short I do not know if that plugin (or a similar one) will conflict with your install. The only way to find out is to test it.

With that in mind, if you are OK with that, at least you could reduce the upload limit size for everyone: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-increase-the-maximum-file-upload-size-in-wordpress/

The other approach would be to “borrow” from one of these plugins and create you own custom functions to limit file upload size based on the WordPress user role.

If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

    Have a good weekend,

    Bonjour Yann,

    Bon week-end,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening VW,

    Kudos on finding the culprit.

Since events ARE custom post types, I can see why there could be some interference between the 2 plugins.

The easiest fix would be to “tell that plugin” to ignore Events.

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of that plugin via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

I cannot promise anything, but I would gladly take a look!

    Hey Jacob,

It looks like your filter is set to “dropdown” instead of “checkbox” as before.

You can take a look at how these settings work here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/configuring-filter-bar/

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
