Good evening C.H.M. and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

    [tribe_events_photo limit=”3″]
I want to show just 3 events (next to each other) on my homepage but want to show 9 events in my Events calendar.

The limit parameter does not work with full view shortcodes for now. You can see that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/embedding-calendar-views-tribe_events-shortcode/

However, that does work with the widget shortcodes: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/

You could work around this by using a dedicated event category named something like “Top 3” and display the photo view with the category parameter.

Of course, that would require a bit of manual work on your end, but it could buy you some time.

    1) Is it possible to show not a certain ID, but the next upcoming event in the same full-width way?

    2) Is it possible to show not a certain ID, but the next upcoming event in a specific category in the same full-width way?

Most likely. But that would require some customization on your end.

Just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.

We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

If you want to take a stab at that, you can read about how it works here: https://theeventscalendar.com/customizations/

If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

Another radically different approach would be to use widget shortcodes for that purpose.

The reason I am bringing this up is because these can be customized too.
They already offer the next upcoming event functionality, including by category.

You would only need to work on the content displayed.

You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

In other words, that would probably be an easier customization to achieve.

    Best regards,

    Good evening Arnau,

When something like this happens, after a backup of your database, we typically recommend downgrading back to the last working version of our plugins on your site.

I recommend reading the following: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/downgrading-plugin-past-version/

I have been successful restoring the functionality with the following combination:

    WPML 3.8.3
    String Translation 2.6.2
    Translation Management 2.4.2
    the Events Calendar 45.13
    the Events Calendar Pro 4.4.17

Hopefully that can buy you some time.

Good evening Melissa and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

The simplest solution to this would be to use a WP user switching plugin (shop as a customer is just one of many of these).

That would allow the client to complete the normal order process for the attendee, thus adding the attendee to the attendee list.

As a side note, we are also working on an extension that would allow to edit attendee info and add it manually. We will let you know as soon as it is out.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Karoliina and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you have encountered while using recurring events with WPML. I would love to help you with this topic.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this glitch.
We are actively working on a solution for this.

Alas, I cannot guarantee when it will be fixed, as it’s in the development team’s hands now.
They need to assign it, code it, test it, and schedule it for release.

The good news is that you will be contacted as soon as a fix is available.
Thank you for your patience as we see this through.

With that in mind, after a backup of your database, you could buy yourself some time.

Good evening Brigitte and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about that issue.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Just as I recommended in the other thread:

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

The message you are getting is typically produced when the license key for the Events Calendar Pro is entered in the spot meant for Event Aggregator.

As long as the Events Calendar Pro add-on has been downloaded, installed and activated, it should have its own license key spot.

Could you please share a screenshot of your Events -> Settings -> Licenses screen via a private reply ?

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Bonsoir Yann,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Michael,

    Sure thing:

    1. Locate the file that is responsible for what you want to change.

In your case, you should look at the Photo view section under https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/#PRO

    2. Make a copy of that file (in your case /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/src/views/pro/photo/single-event.php)
    3. Open that file with a text editor and tweak it (in your case, find “medium” and replace it with “full”)
    4. Look at the comment section at the top of that file to know where to place your edited file. In your case that is [your-theme]/tribe-events/pro/photo/single-event.php
    5. Create the proper paths in your theme’s directory
    6. Upload your modified file there

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Good evening VW,

Major kudos to you for finding a solution AND for sharing it for everybody’s benefit!

As you can imagine, start_date and end_date are key concepts to a Calendar (including ours).
So I guess you could say that these are indeed by design.

Another approach would be to use a more specific name for your custom taxonomies (preventing further conflicts). E.g.: cust_prod_startdate

In any case, I am mostly glad you were able to hunt this down and fix it!

You are welcome back in our support forums any time 🙂

Good evening Sarah and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us and sharing your findings for everybody’s benefit.
I would love to help you with this topic.

First of all, major kudos for updating your code and being able to tackle this one!

You are absolutely right. Our code is subject to enhancements and change.
The specific part of the code you were working with is no exception.

As you can imagine, as functions get deprecated, adjustments to your custom templates will most likely need to be performed. Unless you “freeze” you the Events Calendar versions of course.

With that in mind, just to set expectations in the future, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.

We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

You are welcome back in our support forums any time 🙂

Good evening James and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

I believe our upcoming project will be perfect to achieve that goal: https://theeventscalendar.com/calendar-beyond-wordpress/

In the meantime, your best bet is to use widget shortcodes to achieve that goal: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/

This work because contrary to full calendar views you can have multiple widgets in any page.

Keep in mind you can customize the widgets appearance to your liking. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

Finally, as a side note, since you a the Events Calendar Pro user, please log in to your account and use the the Events Calendar Pro forums for future questions (instead of the pre-sales one).

    Best regards,

You have a few ways to achieve this:

I recommend reading the following: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/downgrading-plugin-past-version/

In this case, I can guarantee that Event Tickets 4.5.7 and the Events Calendar 4.6.5 would most likely buy you some time.
