Ilkka, we’ve published an update to PDF Tickets at https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/pdf-tickets/

Version 1.1.0 auto-detects when something is out-of-date, such as if the Event’s details are changed, and auto-deletes these out-of-date PDFs.

See the changelog for the new deletion methods that exist, which you could use in your own customizations. Please open a new ticket if you need additional support on this or another issue regarding PDF Tickets.

Thanks for contributing by sharing your use case!

Hi, Torkel. Thanks for your interest in our plugin suite. Sorry for the confusion.

Events Calendar PRO is an add-on (i.e. extra functionality) for our free/core The Events Calendar plugin. Have you tried the free one?

Our Bundles include multiple add-ons (PRO being one of them), and we also have a pretty great Refund Policy so you can buy one or many of our add-ons and thoroughly test them.

I hope this info helps. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Hi, John. Sorry you’re experiencing this oddity.

It’s not an issue I could replicate so I’d suggest following these recommended troubleshooting steps for your own site:

There might be some new updates available. Could you please make sure all your Modern Tribe plugins (and WordPress core) are at their latest versions?

Once you verify you’re on the latest versions, please test to see if the issue is still happening for you.

If it is, please follow our Testing for Conflicts Guide (basically switch to Twenty Seventeen theme and deactivate all plugins and custom code other than Modern Tribe plugins) and see if that helps narrow down the cause of this.

Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups as well as performing modifications first on a staging site before modifying anything on your live/production site.

If it doesn’t, please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages) and share any debug messages you see while trying to replicate this issue and doing other things on your site relevant to this ticket (such as visiting your site’s home page, events page, single-event pages, and anything else you can think to do).

Then, please share your System Information (while in Testing for Conflicts Mode) in a Private Reply.

That will give me a lot of extra information to help troubleshoot this.

You might also see if you can spot any console errors at your site. (If needed, you may reference our KB article Using Google Chrome Developer Tools.)

Let us know what you find out.

    Thanks.

Hi, Kathrine. Please find the action hooks within enqueueStylesAndScripts() in /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-filterbar/src/Tribe/View.php

Depending on your settings, you’d likely have to remove_action and then add_action yourself.

Please let me know how this goes for you.

Hi, Ofer. I’m jumping in to give some additional support here.

To reiterate what Courtney already said, you should first try upgrading from each major version (1.x to 2.x to 3.x to 4.x). If that’s not working, you might need to try the minor versions (1.x to 2.0.x to 2.1.x to 2.2.x … 3.0.x, 3.1.x, 3.2.x … etc.)

Because our automatic updater only updates to the latest version, not allowing for incremental updates, you will need to manually update each version.

To be honest, I don’t think anyone around here is intimately familiar with the upgrade path from your 1.x version to the current versions so it’ll just need to be trial-and-error on your part, and you’ll need to plan accordingly for the time required to perform this task.

Of course, we always recommend restorable database and file backups as well as performing modifications first on a staging site before modifying anything on your live/production site.

Before you begin your upgrade task:

    • Make sure your WordPress core version is at the latest version
    • Make sure all your non-Modern Tribe plugins are deactivated
    • Make sure you’re using a WordPress default theme like Twenty Fifteen, Twenty Sixteen, Twenty Seventeen, etc.
    • Enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG (which will create a file on your server at /wp-content/debug.log if there are any WP_DEBUG messages).

Once you start updating on your staging site, look out for that debug.log file and any debug messages you see while upgrading. If you hit an error, leave your staging site as-is and report the messages from your debug.log file. Then we’ll figure out how to proceed — either needing to start over at a previous checkpoint/downgrade or tweaking some code to avoid the error and then try proceeding with the next version to try updating to.

    To recap:

    1. Restorable backup — the Duplicator plugin works nicely and its Zips can be shared to us if needed (please check the box to exclude the uploads folder if it’s large)
    2. Try things only on a staging site
    3. Latest WP version
    4. Deactivate other plugins
    5. A default WP theme
    6. WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG

You can get all the old versions (back to version 2.0) from your account’s Downloads area: https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/

After manually updating, I’d recommend clicking around your site (including the wp-admin Events area and the front-end Events area) before trying to update to the next version.

It’ll also be good for you to keep a notepad around to keep track of the upgrade paths that do and do not work. For example, 1.2 –> 2.1 might work even though 1.2 –> 2.0 might not work.

Hopefully these instructions and tips help you get up-to-date soon. We’re all rooting for you! Let us know how things go.
