MemberGood evening Sabrina and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions. Can a user submit an event from their profile with the free version of the Events calendar plugin?
Normally, not out of the box.
You would either need to code that or, more simply, grab a copy of our Community Events premium add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-community-events/
But based on that third-party plugin, it sounds like their extension + the Events Calendar should be sufficient.
As you pointed out, there is little we can help with there. However, we would gladly provide premium support for Community Events 🙂

MemberGood evening Stefan and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the difference in styles you bumped into.
I would love to help you with this topic. What is going on is that the shortcode version of the calendar is drawing from the CSS rules of your WordPress theme, while the basic calendar is using the CSS rule of the Events Calendar.
The good news is that you can fix this:
- Head over to Events -> Settings -> Display and under Default stylesheet used for events templates, choose “Full styles”
- Decide which look you prefer and add the missing CSS rules to your custom CSS box
Let me know how that goes.

We are sorry to hear about the styling of your single event not displaying as expected.
I would love to help you with this topic. There are 2 ways to tackle this:
- Head over to Events -> Settings -> Display and try different settings for Events Template to see if this helps.
- If that does not work, you might have to create a custom version of the single event view php file to include your styling. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
Let me know how that goes.
If you need to create a custom template and you are struggling, please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.
Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.Best regards,

It looks like you are using WPML. If that is true AND you are using String Translation, you should be able to achieve your goal.
To do this, you can borrow the same procedure that is used to translate date and time formats. You can read about this here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-events-calendar-with-wpml/
Let me know how that goes.

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions. If I opt not to renew after 1 year, will the shortcode still work or will the Events Calendar stop displaying within my theme?
Good news, your shortcode will still work, even if you do not renew.
However, this comes with some caveats:
- You will most likely need to “freeze” your the Events Calendar (free) version so that it stays compatible
- You will lose premium support access and updates
- We cannot guarantee that versions of the Events Calendar that are “frozen” will stay compatible with upcoming versions of WordPress or Divi
As long as you follow these guidelines, you should be good to go 🙂
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

We are sorry to hear that you are not getting the expected results while using Event Tickets Plus.
I would love to help you with this topic. There is a “calendar” with “Course days” but that doesn’t seem to do anything and I can’t find any information about it in the documentation.
I would need to take a look at your website to get a better sense of what is going on.
Would you mind sharing a URL?As a first troubleshooting step, could you also please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
I was hoping to use it with Events Calendar but that just seems to show event made as a specific event and it doesn’t show the event created.
The good news is that Event Tickets Plus works great with the Events Calendar.
However, tickets added to pages directly will not show up as events in the calendar. If you want an event containing a ticket to be part of the Events Calendar, you will need to add the ticket to an event using the Events Calendar, not through a page.
Hang in there!

I would love to help you with this topic. Can I have additional span-Tags around parts of the date?
Absolutely. In fact, you can customize each view exactly to your liking.
The way to achieve this is through template overrides (making a copy of the view files, changing them and uploading them in your WordPress theme’s folder). You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
Let me know how that goes.

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.I need this calendar to be add in my hompage and some other pages – in a specific section – and it seems I can not do this.
To achieve what you are looking for you will need to grab a copy of our the Events Calendar Pro premium add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/
This will give you access to many great features, including shortcodes for full views and advanced widgets:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
Let me know if that helps.

We are sorry to hear about the map not loading for you. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.A quick look at your site’s Google Chrome Devtools (Console tab) revealed the following message:
Geocoding Service: This API project is not authorized to use this API. For more information on authentication and Google Maps Javascript API services please see: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key
To be fair, Google has increased its level of requirements. Therefore, you need to make sure you follow their directives to the letter.
I would recommend going through the following step-by-step: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions. You have 2 options available:
- You can actually sell tickets using WooCommerce or Tribe Commerce, in which case you will need to grab a copy of Event Tickets Plus: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/
- You can keep the registration form as is, but override “free” with an actual cost. Please install the following extension: https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/show-cost-field/
Let me know how that goes.

We are sorry to hear about the struggles you are experiencing with the word “event”.
I would love to help you with this topic.Normally, the word event should come as part of the tribe-events-community_yourlanguage.po.
When translation file strings are not kicking in, it is usually caused by one of the following things:
- Your translation files are not up to date
- You are using some customized translation files that have been placed in the /wp-content/languages/ or /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder. These might not be updated and will override any other file.
- The strings are translated, but are considered “fuzzy”
In the first 2 cases, the solution is to update your translation files using the pot file. You can do this by using the Poedit software and heading to Catalog > Update from pot file.
In the last case, you will need to make them “unfuzzy” using Poedit.
If that does not work, would you mind sending me a copy of your current translation overrides (via a link to a .zip file), so that I can take a look at it?
Best regards,

I would love to help you with this topic. There are 2 ways to go about this:
- Grabbing a copy of an Event Aggregator license: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/event-aggregator/. This will let you import or sync your events.
- Using WordPress’ export tool: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-wordpress-export-tools-to-migrate-events-content/
As or the full calendar not being full screen, this has to do with the page template you are using. Head over to Events -> Settings -> Display and try different page templates.
Let me know how that goes.

We are sorry to hear about the zip file unzipping automatically.
I would love to help you with this topic. What is going on is that Safari has a default behavior that unzips files automatically.
You can change that: https://wiki.umbc.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=31919091The other thing you can do is just to re-zip the file once it has downloaded (using a right-click or Ctrl-click and selecting “Compress”).
Let me know how that goes.
