Hello,
I run a website using Events Calendar / Pro with page translations via WPML. I create a new event (initially in Maltese) and designate the venue name as ‘Teatru’. When I translate that page into English using WPML, the English venue translation correctly appears, Theatre, but as soon as I ‘Update’ the page and publish it, the venue name reverts back to the Maltese, Teatru. After that point I cannot change it to English.
I have updated to the latest versions of Events Calendar, Pro and WPML and continue to encounter the same problem. I have also tried the suggestions here, but with no luck:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-events-calendar-with-wpml/
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-translations-for-events-using-wpml/Even when I create new Venues the problem persists.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Reporting the same issue as: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/venues-after-update-in-wrong-language/June 20, 2018 at 8:00 pm #1557863Geoff B.MemberGood evening and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with Venues while working with WPML. I would love to help you with this topic.
As per https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-translations-for-events-using-wpml/ , we highly recommend 2 things for Venues:
- Make sure you create them BEFORE you create the event (in the dedicated Venue menu)
- That you use the manual translation process (as opposed to the Classic editor)
With that in mind, would you mind following the step-by-step approach outlined in the Knowledge base article for Venues and telling me how that goes? In short:
- Create a Venue in the Venue interface (not the event interface) AND create that Venue’s translation
- Create an event and attach that Venue to the event.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,
