MemberGood evening and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic. You could apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/5b57df71be8b52f595817ddbf81acdab
But first, to be extra safe, before making any changes to your functions.php file, you should make a backup of that file.
Let me know how that goes.

MemberGood afternoon Anders,
Thank you for writing back.
We do not want to sell tickets online but rather have a form on each event where attendees can register (name + contactinfo). Best way would be to use Tickets plus for this?
By default, our Event Tickets (free) plugin can only capture the name and email address for the RSVP functionality.
Furthermore, it can only do so for the person making the reservation.
This is why I am suggesting throwing Event Tickets Plus in the mix.
It will let you decide what information you want to capture for every RSVP ticket. In other words, this works both for selling tickets (which you are not interested in) AND for simple RSVP tickets.
Would we still need to also install WooCommerce?…”Event Tickets Plus requires an ecommerce plugin to sell tickets.”
No need to do that in your case (unless you change your mind and you want to sell tickets).
All you are doing is using Event Tickets Plus to enhance the RSVP tickets. If we want to use multiple dates for the same event (but NOT a regular interval of daily/weekly/monthly)…this is something we could do with Events Calendar Pro ?
The Events Calendar Pro does add the recurring events feature (you can set irregular dates as well as regular intervals).
However, for the time being, recurring events do not support tickets fully (we have that on our long-term roadmap).
Here is how recurring events work with tickets (including RSVP tickets) for now:
- When you create tickets in a recurring event, ALL of these tickets will be available for ALL the individual recurring events. In other words, it does not create separate tickets for each of the recurring events.
Some of our customers create tickets for each date to workaround this issue. In other words, all of the recurring events show tickets for each date.
- You can use recurring events to speed up event creation. Once that is done, you are able to “break each event from the series). What that does is that each event now becomes independent. You can now add separate tickets in each event.
Is there no way we could simply have a selectlist with the different dates for the same event included in the form where attendees register?
You could.
This is where Event Tickets Plus comes in handy since you can add a dropdown to the information you are capturing.Let me know how that goes.

We are sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with Venues while working with WPML. I would love to help you with this topic.
As per https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/creating-translations-for-events-using-wpml/ , we highly recommend 2 things for Venues:
- Make sure you create them BEFORE you create the event (in the dedicated Venue menu)
- That you use the manual translation process (as opposed to the Classic editor)
With that in mind, would you mind following the step-by-step approach outlined in the Knowledge base article for Venues and telling me how that goes? In short:
- Create a Venue in the Venue interface (not the event interface) AND create that Venue’s translation
- Create an event and attach that Venue to the event.
Let me know how that goes.

MemberGood evening Mike and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.is it possible to integrate the monthly events calendar on another page using shortcode?
Yes it is possible, but you will need to get a copy of the Events Calendar Pro to be able to do that: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/
Once you have that, you will be able to embed both full views and widgets using shortcodes:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

We’ll be glad to answer your questions.I see that for adding maps you need pro version is this correct.
The Events Calendar free lets you display a map of the venue in the single event view.
The Events Calendar also adds the option of a map view

Can you add JPG and or PDF as well as texts for an event?
You can add all of these in both the free and Pro versions
For login can I setup different users to have the ability to add events.
There are 2 ways to go about this:
- Get a copy of our Community Events premium add-on: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-community-events/
This will keep users in the front-end and let them only see their events.
You also can control the publishing process (aka you can decide you want to approve events before publication) - You could allow that through specific roles: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/admin-roles-and-permissions/
If I have a members plugin can I restrict the calendar to logged in members only?
Yes you can: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-members-calendar/
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

I would love to help you with this topic. There are a couple of ways to achieve this:
- Take a look at the following Knowledge Base article https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/can-you-have-multiple-calendars/
- Switch over to the Events Calendar’s baby brother https://loxi.io/
It does not feature all of the same features as the Events Calendar, but it is especially good for what you are trying to do. In fact, you can even easily publish filtered versions of your calendar on partner websites.
Best of all, we can transfer your existing calendar over free of charge.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberBonjour Seb,

We’ll be glad to answer your questions. Is it relatively easy to make small changes to how the RSVP form works?
We have built our plugins in a way to make them customizable. So it is relatively simple to change the plugins’ behavior. But you will need to know how to code.
You can read about that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/customizations/
If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
on the event page we would simply want a form containing name and address for attendee
(invoice will be sent manually “offline”)A simple solution would be to grab a copy of Event Tickets Plus (even if you are using only the RSVP functionality). This way you can capture custom attendee info for RSVP tickets https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/collecting-attendee-information/
..are there any news on this?
This is still on our long-term roadmap. To make this work properly we need to complete a revamp of the recurring events engine (which is underway).
Preferably we would like to use multiple dates for the same event and also the possibility for users to choose and register for specific dates.
Just to set expectations, when this is released, all recurring events will get their own set of tickets.
However, it is unlikely that users will be able to book several dates from a single screen. That said, if this is your main goal, you could “cheat” a little.
What you could do is to set up one big event that covers a time period (e.g.: July 1st – August 30th). Once that is done, you could add a bunch of tickets for the individual dates.
Not ideal, but it might work depending on your use case.

MemberGood evening Alex,
Thank you for writing back.
The snippet I provided works for RSVP, but not for WooCommerce tickets.
You will need to add the following snippet to include them: https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/9a457b724e38b3036f8d48adc90930edLet me know how that goes.

MemberGood evening Kim and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions. The main functionality I am looking for is to show different calendars on different pages on my website, filtering by category.
Great news, you do not need the Events Calendar Pro to do that for full views if a simple menu link (as opposed to adding the calendar to a specific page) is OK: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/event-categories/
If you need to add the calendar to a specific page, you will indeed need to upgrade to Pro:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/
As you can see, both widgets and full views are filterable by category.
does the Widget allow me to change the type of viewing?
No, it does not. The default behavior of widgets is to direct users back to the main calendar views.
That said, you can customize the widget (and any other view).
You can read about that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/customizations/
If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
I would ideally like to have the image thumbnail style view within a page with the ability to filter by the workshop category.
It sounds like you could accomplish this by customizing slightly your list view (to show thumbnails). This can be accomplished via the Themer’s guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
Just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues. We, unfortunately, do not provide complete support for customization.
Finally, perhaps you would be interested in the Events Calendar baby brother Loxi which offers all the features you require: https://loxi.io/
We can even transfer your events over there for free.

MemberGood evening Manuela,
As promised, I followed-up on this one for you.
The good news is that the required code is very advanced and entering initial testing.
The less good news is that this means that we are looking at an ETA of about 3 weeks from now, sadly.Thank you for your understanding and hang in there!
