Showing events in image view

Hi,

I am looking at upgrading to Events Calendar Pro. The main functionality I am looking for is to show different calendars on different pages on my website, filtering by category. I know this can be done in the Widget, however, does the Widget allow me to change the type of viewing?

I run a range of different activities for kids, such as events and school holiday workshops. For my holiday workshops, I need to be able to show the upcoming workshops (without showing other events) on the page of the website. Currently when I add the upcoming events it is shown on the page as full width images which isn’t functional when I have 10 or more activities to show. I would ideally like to have the image thumbnail style view within a page with the ability to filter by the workshop category.

Is this possible?

Great news, you do not need the Events Calendar Pro to do that for full views if a simple menu link (as opposed to adding the calendar to a specific page) is OK: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/event-categories/

If you need to add the calendar to a specific page, you will indeed need to upgrade to Pro:

2. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/

As you can see, both widgets and full views are filterable by category.

No, it does not. The default behavior of widgets is to direct users back to the main calendar views.

That said, you can customize the widget (and any other view).

If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

It sounds like you could accomplish this by customizing slightly your list view (to show thumbnails). This can be accomplished via the Themer’s guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
