Good afternoon Alice and welcome to our forums!

Thank you for your interest in our products.

As you might guess, we mainly offer support for our premium plugins customers.
But, that being said, we would like to get you started in the right direction.

When you say the Event content timeline I assume you are talking about the List view, can you confirm ?

To answer your question, you can do pretty much anything you want with the display of our calendar, including the mobile breakpoint as long as you follow our Themer’s guide instructions.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good afternoon Anthony and welcome back!

Thank you for your question and for providing all the necessary details.

We believe what is happening is the indicator is going off of UTC time, as we are at UTC -6. We verified the time zone is set to Chicago, rather than any of the UTC settings however.

You might be on to something. Typically, the timezone of events is based on:

    • The WordPress site wide timezone setting (worth re-saving if you haven’t already) under Settings -> General
    • The Events Calendar timezone settings under Events -> Settings -> Timezone settings (at the very bottom of the page)

As a first step, can you confirm what your timezone setting is for The Events Calendar part ? (also worth re-saving just to be sure).

As a second step, to the best of your knowledge, are you using any templates overrides ?

If you are unsure, the next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and letting us know what your findings are.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Have a great evening,

    Geoff B.

    Good afternoon Craig,

I am glad you were able to get to the bottom of it.

Kudos on all the hard work you put in, but most importantly for having backups!

Unfortunately, sometimes things do not go quite as expected during installation/upgrade of plugins as you just found out.

You are always welcome if you have any other questions.

    Have an awesome day,

    Good afternoon Jean,

Thank you for providing me with your system information.

Based on that information, there are a couple of things I would like you to try:

    • Can you please update to the latest versions of the Events Calendar and the Events Calendar Pro ? We did release a security patch this weekend and perhaps this will help.
    • Could you try disabling your Caching plugin WP Super Cache, emptying the cache and running the tests again ?
    • Could you try going through our Testing for conflicts procedure please and see if the problem persists ? The reason for this is that your WordPress theme or plugins might be causing a conflict.

Let me know what you find out please.

Thank you and have an awesome day!

    Good afternoon Chris,

Congratulations on resolving the issue on your own!

With that in mind, I would still recommend upgrading your Events Calendar plugins to the latest versions (they are a bit out of date and more importantly, we released a security patch over the weekend).

That being said, I would advise caution (using a testing/staging environment) in updating to the latest version of WooCommerce as some of our users have reported unwanted conflicts with some of their plugins / WordPress themes.

For now I will close this thread but you are always welcome to open another one should you have any other questions.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Good afternoon John,

Sorry to hear that the CSS quick fix didn’t cut it. I just made a couple of changes to it if you want to give it another try.

Let me know how that or your testing for conflicts efforts goes.

    Have a great week!

    Good afternoon Mad Dog,

Thanks for doing the tests and I believe it does demonstrate that there is something weird going on for sure. I appreciate you patience on this as this is a fairly complex one.

At this point to try to solve things will require a staging/test environment on your end (perhaps a local install?). Can you tell me if you have one ?

Here are the tests that should be conducted:

    • Trying out a fresh install with the exact same plugins, WordPress theme and Theme customization. Once that’s done, we should go through the same past events tests. The goal being to isolate for sure that it is the DB that is in question.
    • Making a local exact copy of the site and reinstalling the most recent plugins one by one from a fresh source. This will establish if there was some problem during the plugin update process.
    • Making a local exact copy and trying to revert the plugins to the previous version. Again this will help isolating the cause of the issue.
    • Making a local exact copy and trying to clean up the database using the following tool

Depending on the findings of these tests we should be one step closer to success!

So hang in there and let me know if you have any questions about the tests ?

    Cheers,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Elizabeth and welcome to the Events Calendar support forum!

Thank you for purchasing the Events Calendar Pro and for reaching out to us.

Ive read that in order to remove the error message with the conflicting versions between “event calendar” and “event calendar pro” I have to delete the pro version and then reinstall the plugin.

Actually, deleting the plugin is only a fallback solution if updating it through the Updates tab does not work (for any reason).

So the great news is that you can totally upgrade it exactly the same way you upgrade any other WordPress plugin 🙂

Ive made significant changes to the styling of the list and calendar view. Is there any way to manually reinstall the plugin without removing the css files

You are in luck, you can absolutely do exactly that.
In fact, you can make some pretty advanced customizations without loosing them after an update of the plugins.

To do that however, you must precisely follow the instructions in our Themer’s guide.

In other words, you will need to port your CSS changes to a new CSS file found in the /tribe-events/ folder of your WordPress theme.
These CSS rules will have precedence over the plugins’ rules.

Let me know if that answers your questions.

    Have an awesome evening!

Good afternoon Chris and welcome to the Events calendar support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us and we would love to help you get to the bottom of this surely very unpleasant ticket stock issue 🙁

The information you provided is a good starting point. But in order to be as efficient as possible, could you please also provide us with your system information ?

In the meantime, here are a couple of reassuring answers to some of your questions.

is there a way to adjust the time a ticket is allowed to be kept in-cart?

Absolutely, you did find the correct setting for this in WooCommerce. My personal experience with this WooCommerce feature is not great. I would recommend setting it to blank.

no way to increase the number available

This is very odd as you should be able to increase the number of tickets at will directly in the WooCommerce product.
By the sound of it, there might be some conflict going on with either your WordPress theme or one of your plugins.

With that in mind, on top of providing us with your system information, can you also please follow our testing for Conflicts guide and let us know what you find (if it resolves the issue)?

    Hang in there!

Good afternoon Chris and welcome to the Events Calendar,

Thank you for your interest in our products.

We need to make sure that any visitor to the site will be able to post an event to our calendar. The URL to it will be private so it’s limited to only those whom we share it with.

Yes, you can do exactly that by using our premium Community Events plugin.

Also, when a location is added, when someone visits the mobile site, the map and location data isn’t there… can it be?

Actually, the map and location data should be there. Perhaps this is a setup or WordPress theme issue ?

The good news is that we provide support for that type of question for our premium plugins customers.

Is there anything else I can help you with today ?

    Have an awesome day!

in reply to: How to indicate sort order? #1058103

Good afternoon Abby and welcome back!

    Thank you for your question.

Is there a way – even with writing some code in a child theme – to indicate the sort order of events?

I am not clear exactly on what you mean “indicate the sort order of events”, but I would love to answer this question.

    Can you please specify:

    1. Do you mean something like “You are viewing events sorted by date” or “You are viewing events sorted by category X” ?
    2. If the sort order of events you are talking about is based on the Find events, the View events or the Filter Bar results or some other sorting feature ?
    3. Which Calendar view you are referring to (list, month, day, week, etc..) ?

Thank you and have wonderful evening ?

    Hi again Ryan,

Does the google map link have to be custom coded to show up on the individual event info page…

No, that should display directly on the page under normal circumstances.

We would be happy to help you troubleshoot (and solve) this part of the issue.

The first step would be to follow our Testing for Conflicts guide and tell us about your findings.

Can you also provide me, in a private reply, with a screenshot of the details of the Event , more specifically of the Location section of the Events Calendar Metabox?

    Thank you,

    Geoff B.

    Good afternoon Dave,

Thank you for sharing your archive.php code snippets (I am assuming).
At first glance, there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with it, but as you know, your EnterpriseTech theme contains many more potentially conflicting files.

The next step would be to keep your WordPress theme in place AND  follow the rest of the procedure found in our Testing for conflicts guide. Especially the part about deactivating all other plugins (to see if the problem persists with your main WordPress theme) and trying to reactivate the plugins one by one until you can recreate the <p> tag issue.

It might even be a simple WP engine caching issue.

Let me know you are able to isolate what the cause of the issue is.

    Have a great day!

    Geoff B.
