    Hi,

    I can help out here.

I read your original post and I believe there is still an issue with exclusions in some date formats.

I do not have a fix for that.

You could create your recurring event and then after it creates all the days edit the Friday, Saturday and Sunday events individually and delete them.

That would be a work around for this for now.

Do you think that will work?

    Good afternoon Jean,

Thank you for providing me with your system information.

Based on that information, there are a couple of things I would like you to try:

    • Can you please update to the latest versions of the Events Calendar and the Events Calendar Pro ? We did release a security patch this weekend and perhaps this will help.
    • Could you try disabling your Caching plugin WP Super Cache, emptying the cache and running the tests again ?
    • Could you try going through our Testing for conflicts procedure please and see if the problem persists ? The reason for this is that your WordPress theme or plugins might be causing a conflict.

Let me know what you find out please.

Thank you and have an awesome day!

    Geoff B.

    Hola Jean,

Thank you for doing all the tests. The good news is that means that we can rule out the fact that this is caused by a conflict.

Unfortunately the only other explanation is that there is a bug between the recurring events and the date format you are using, as my colleague Brian suggested.

Currently, the only supported date format that works for exclusions in recurring events is 2016-01-30.

Could you send me a screen shot of your recurring event settings to confirm this ? (see the following screenshot for an example)

    Thank you

    Have a great day,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Jean,

I am glad the date format change worked for you.
    Congratulations!

To fix the issue you are now describing, I would try to flush the permalinks (re-save them without changing anything on the permalinks page).

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Hola Jean,

Thank you for trying to flush the permalink and I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you.

Just our of curiosity did you change the date format for the whole site after creating your recurring events ? The reason I am asking is because I am no longer seeing the 2016-01-30 format.

That could in part explain the weird behaviour (clicking on a past event links to /all)

I have researched it some more and it appears there is a bug with the recurring events and /all.

I cannot commit to a release date yet, but our team is working on the fix and you will be contacted as soon as it’s fixed.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon John,

Could you please answer my previous question ?

Just our of curiosity did you change the date format back to your previous date format for the whole site after creating your recurring events ? The reason I am asking is because I am no longer seeing the 2016-01-30 format.

From the screenshots you have shared with me, it looks like your date format has been changed to d/mm/yyyy and not yyyy-mm-dd.

To clarify things, if you want to use the recurring events with exclusions, you absolutely need to keep the yyyy-mm-dd everywhere on the site (WordPress settings and Events Calendar settings) always (at least until we support all date formats). You cannot revert back to any other date format after creating the recurring events. It will break the results (as you can see).

If you want to keep your own date format, the only option available for you at this time is to use recurring events and then manually deleting the events on the date you are not interested in.

Once again we apologize for the situation. Hopefully this will not last very long.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Geoff B.

    Good afternoon Jean,

I realize you are still struggling with the recurring event (which I am sorry for).

I probably did not communicate my thoughts accurately.
For some reason I thought you had changed the date format, but it turns out you did not. My apologies.

As I said in a previous response, there is currently an official bug affecting past recurring events displaying all events.
Our team is working on solving this issue and you will be notified as soon as it’s fixed.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Have a great day!

    Geoff B.
