ParticipantHi:
I was looking at the site on using recurrence rules for non-consecutive days manual. I am writing because I found no details. I am about to launch a website and I’m populating the calendar with events. One of them has a week from Tuesday to Thursday and then continues the next week from Monday to Saturday. How I can remove that Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the first week without the loss last week, using the rules of recurrence? The exclusions do not work me. I appreciate your help.

MemberGood evening Jean and welcome to the Tribe,
I will be glad to assist you in mastering recurring events.
As a side note, if that’s more convenient for you, please know that I can also provide support in French.I am not sure if you are looking for separate events for each day or longer events that last a few days. It would be great if you could clarify that for me.
For now, I am going to assume you are looking for longer events that last a few days.
In that case, the correct procedure would be to:
- Create an event that lasts from Monday to Saturday
- Create a recurrence rule to repeat that event every week (with your choice of end date)
- Create exclusions for the first week’s Monday and Friday (one for each day)
Let me know how to works for you.
Have an awesome day!

The event “Conciertos Ciudadanos 2016” is from Monday 11 to Saturday 16. I would like that also were from Tuesday 5 to Thursday 7 without that were added on Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th. How can I do it? Using recurring rules.
Thanks!!
P.D. I speak and write Spanish, not French đ

MemberGood afternoon Jean,
First of all, I want to apologize for the French offer, my bad đ
I do speak a little Spanish, but not enough to provide you decent support without creating more confusion đIf I understand correctly, you want to add a new series of “Conciertos Ciudadanos 2016” in February (the second week of the month as well).
In that case, it’s just a matter of a slight tweak on my previous suggestion.
- Create an event that lasts from Monday 11 to Saturday 16 (which you already did)
- Create a custom recurrence rule to repeat that event
- Set frequency to monthly
- Select Second and then Monday in the drop down menus that appear under monthly
- Create date exclusions for each date you don’t have a concert in February
Also don’t forget to specify when the recurrence should end.
If you haven’t already, I also recommend reading the following article from our Knowledge Base.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great evening,
Geoff B.

GuestHi
Geoff, We try you suggest, but not work.
We try a lot of forms and not function. The conclusion is the problem “the exclusion” not working.
Please help us with that, the exclusion is badly for all event, now we did not use it.
p.d we talk spanish

MemberGood evening Eduardo and Jean,
I am sorry to hear the recurrence suggestion I made did not work for you.
Normally, the exclusion should work. In fact, I tested my solution prior to submitting it to you.Nevertheless, let’s take the next steps to help you achieve your goals.
Could you please provide me with your system information in a private reply ?
Can you confirm that you are trying to create a recurring event that happens every second week of the month ?
I am looking forward to hearing from you again.
Have a great day,
Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Eduardo,
Thank you for your answer.
Based on the link you sent me, it appears that “Concertos Ciudadanos 2016” are not every second week of the month, but rather every week almost every weekday except for certain exceptions. Can you confirm ?
There are many ways to accomplish this as you can see in our user guide on recurring events.
In that case, I would like to suggest another tweak on my previous suggestion:
- Create an event that lasts only for Monday 11 (start time 21:00 end time 22:00)
- Create an every day recurrence rule to repeat that event
- Set the end date at which the Concertos Ciudadanos 2016  will end on the same line
- Create date exclusions for each specific date you donât have a concert (Sundays and any other day were there is no concert)
Let me know how that works out.
Could you please also send me a screenshot of your event Recurrence settings once you are done please ?
Based on the other issue you have pointed out, I have strong reasons to believe there might be a conflict with one of your other plugins or with your WordPress theme.
This is why it is going to be very difficult to help you fix these issues until you can provide me with your system information in a private reply.
Thank you for your understanding and have a great day.

MemberGood evening Eduardo,
That’s a very good point. The reason why the “Set as private reply” option is not available is because the original question was posted in the pre-sales questions.
The “Set as private reply” option is only available when you first log in to your user account and use the following URL https://theeventscalendar.com/support/post/
Screenshots can be sent with a dropbox link or via a site like cloud up
Since we absolutely need the system information to troubleshoot the source of the issues our best option is to close this thread and open a new one in the right forum (you can paste a link to the present thread to avoid repeating yourself).
Thank you for your patience,
Geoff B.
