    Hello – Ive read that in order to remove the error message with the conflicting versions between “event calendar” and “event calendar pro” I have to delete the pro version and then reinstall the plugin. However Ive made significant changes to the styling of the list and calendar view. Is there any way to manually reinstall the plugin without removing the css files.

    Please advise. Im confused as to why we can’t just upgrade the plugin through the WordPress plugin interface as we upgrade all the other plugins.

    Thank you for purchasing the Events Calendar Pro and for reaching out to us.

    Ive read that in order to remove the error message with the conflicting versions between “event calendar” and “event calendar pro” I have to delete the pro version and then reinstall the plugin.

    Actually, deleting the plugin is only a fallback solution if updating it through the Updates tab does not work (for any reason).

    So the great news is that you can totally upgrade it exactly the same way you upgrade any other WordPress plugin 🙂

    You are in luck, you can absolutely do exactly that.
    In fact, you can make some pretty advanced customizations without loosing them after an update of the plugins.

    To do that however, you must precisely follow the instructions in our Themer’s guide.

    In other words, you will need to port your CSS changes to a new CSS file found in the /tribe-events/ folder of your WordPress theme.
    These CSS rules will have precedence over the plugins’ rules.
