ParticipantWe noticed recently that the spacing on the just first page of our events listing was really off compared to all the others. It seems that for the first page only (screenshot – https://cloudup.com/iIRdKgBZXZB), paragraph tags are getting added around many of the attributes causing them to have padding added to them. These paragraph tags do not appear on other pages (screenshot – https://cloudup.com/iUs0GbTI73T). I also confirmed that page 1 and page 2+ are being created by the same theme template. Any idea what might be causing this discrepancy?

MemberGood afternoon Dave,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
You are right, it is indeed very peculiar and I would love to get to the bottom of this with you.
In order to do that, would you mind sharing your system information with me ?
You also mentioned that you tried switching to a default theme (as described here). Can you tell me if the problem persists with a WordPress default theme ?
Have a great evening!

ParticipantI just checked again and reverted to the 2015 theme, and everything works normally. Another curiosity: using my main theme, if I click on Next Events and then click on the back button to go back to the main screen, the paragraphs issue doesn’t happen. Apparently it’s only on the initial load of the page. Any idea what might be behind that?

MemberGood evening Dave,
Thank you for submitting your system information and for re-testing with Twenty-fifteen.
That allows us to establish that there seems to be a conflict with the local news WordPress theme or between local news and one of the plugins you have installed.
I am unsure exactly what is causing this issue, but I recommend following the rest of the procedure found in our Testing for conflicts guide. Especially the part about deactivating all other plugins (to see if the problem persists with your main WordPress theme) and trying to reactivate the plugins one by one until you can recreate the <p> tag issue.
If that doesn’t work, I would have a look at how the content is called in the archive.php of your WordPress theme or at any events calendar template customization that might be in there.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great evening,
Geoff B.

ParticipantSadly, deactivating all plugins did not serve to find the issue. I have no events calendar templates in my theme and here is archive.php and the associated loop-archive.php (in the parent theme).

MemberGood afternoon Dave,
There seems to be an issue with your response as I am unable to see the Code Snippet you posted.
Could you please look into it ?
Have an awesome day!

MemberGood evening Dave,
Somehow there seems to be an issue with the URL of the Gist snippet, it points to this thread instead of on the actual snippet.
Perhaps you are using the embed option ?
Could you please try the share URL instead ?Thank you

MemberGood afternoon Dave,
Thank you for sharing your archive.php code snippets (I am assuming).
At first glance, there doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with it, but as you know, your EnterpriseTech theme contains many more potentially conflicting files. The next step would be to keep your WordPress theme in place AND follow the rest of the procedure found in our Testing for conflicts guide. Especially the part about deactivating all other plugins (to see if the problem persists with your main WordPress theme) and trying to reactivate the plugins one by one until you can recreate the <p> tag issue.
It might even be a simple WP engine caching issue.
Let me know you are able to isolate what the cause of the issue is.
Have a great day!
