Good evening Jeff and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear that Event Tickets Plus did not work with your theme.
Would you mind telling me which theme that is ?

I ask because, there are not a lot of themes out there that are incompatible with our plugins.

As a premium plugin customer, you can absolutely get support to help set things up.

The good news is you are fully entitled to a refund if you want one since you are within 30 days of your purchase. To obtain the refund, you just need to follow the procedure described here.

If you prefer some help setting things up, as a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

Good evening Gary and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear that you were locked out of your website. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

The first thing that you need to do is to disable the Community Events plugin (there is something that is not working with it on your installation).

If you cannot access your WordPress backend, you will need FTP or File manager access.

Go over to /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events and rename the folder to something like /wp-content/plugins/z_the-events-calendar-community-events

That should disable the plugin and give you your site back.

Once you have logged back in, you can change the folder name back to it’s correct name.

After that, as a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Can you also tell me which version of Community Events you are using. We need to make sure its version matches the one of the Events Calendar. Otherwise, things will break.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Good evening Arne and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you have been encountered with complete translation.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I am noticing that you are using QtranslateX to handle multi-language.
Although that is a great plugin, we unfortunately do not support it as a multi-language solution.

You can vote for that feature here: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/4015356-integration-with-qtranslate

That being said, we do support WPML as a solution for our Free and Pro the Events Calendar plugins.

But, the good news is that we are in the process of increasing our support for other multilingual solutions. Unfortunately the next contender would likely be Polylang as it is already 95% working with our plugins.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good afternoon Paul and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the upgrade process not being smooth for you.
I would love to help you with this topic.

The simplest way to handle this would be to ask for a refund of the renewal transaction.
In order to do that, you just need to follow the procedure described here.

Make sure you reference this thread in the form to explain, that you are keeping the business license and the renewal of the personal license was just a glitch in the process.

The reason why that would be the best approach is because as soon as you upgraded to a business license, the personal license ceased to exist. It was converted into a business license (with the same key).

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good afternoon Sarah and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

As you probably already know, we do not offer true support (at least for now) for recurring tickets. But this is no biggie since it is not what you are looking for.

I don’t know if you were aware, but we have a little snippet that lets you use a normal recurring event with tickets and hides the ticket from the recurring events. In other words, the ticket just displays in the first event of the series: https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/0535375b9315376b0c13cb8722d7434f

You will need to add that to the functions.php of your WordPress theme.

I want the entire series to display on the calendar, however, I only want the FIRST event (the one they can actually register for) to be a clickable link to full event information. For the remainder of the weeks I would like the calendar to display that the event is happening with something like “Event Title (in progress)”

That is absolutely possible. But, it will require some template customization.

You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

You will need to add some conditional code that handles how the recurring events are displayed in the different views you want to have these changes in.

That being said, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

If coding is not your thing, you can always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

Good evening Michaela and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

As it turns out, the Events Calendar Pro is already translated in German for the most part.
You can see that here: http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects/tribe-events-calendar-pro

Normally, if you have the latest version of all of the language files it should go well.

Good afternoon Kirsten and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

We are sorry to hear about the calendar not displaying where it should. Yikes!

There is no calendar and no events on event-URL…

Since there appears to be a maintenance page up, I can’t say for sure what is going on.
I have tried the credentials provided, but unfortunately, they do not seem to work.

But, could you try different settings under Events -> Settings -> Display for the “Events Template” dropdown and see if that helps ?

    http://new.emile-montessori.de/neuigkeiten/kalender/
Calendar with shortcode: no event-preview on mouseover
Is this so or I can make a setting?

This is actually a glitch. We are working on a fix right now and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned, you will be contacted when the fix is released.

single-event: google maps is only shown very short… what’s the issue?

For this one, I will need to actually see the website.

Could you test the credentials provided so that I can look (not touch) ?

    Good afternoon Harold,

I am glad the link helped.

I would gladly help you sort out the overly big dropdown selectors.
But to do that, I would need to know what your URL is for your Community “Add event” link and perhaps a temporary front-end login (if that is required by your site).

You can post this info in a private reply.

    Best regards,

    Hey Yoni,

    Thank you for writing back.

That is a great question. The answer is it depends.

If you are looking for a different order that only impacts the filter bar, then yes, your best approach is to use a template customization (as mentioned in the previous answer).

However, if you want to have a different event category order all throughout your site, then a really easy solution is to use a plugin such as: https://wordpress.org/plugins/intuitive-custom-post-order/

This will let you drag and drop the event categories in any sequence you like.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon Mark,

    Thank you for writing back.

I’d like there to be a way to exclude any recurring events from the home page.

So in short, you would like to have a feature similar to the one found under Events -> Settings -> General (Recurring event instances), but for your home page.

That is certainly feasible via some customization.

You would need to add a conditional to your fusion shortcode to check for tribe_is_recurring_event: https://theeventscalendar.com/function/tribe_is_recurring_event/ when the home page is shown.

Unfortunately, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

And then have a Page at a different link set up to show only recurring events by default.

Here again, I am pretty sure this can be accomplished with some custom page template.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how customization works at a basic level.

I’ve asked my developer to figure out how to make the location show on the homepage preview thumbnails.

At this point, it looks like the shortcode you are using on your homepage was custom built for you (I might be mistaking). In case it is, your developer will be the only one to know how to include that extra info into each thumbnail (that should not be too hard).

As an alternative, if you purchase a copy of our the Events Calendar Pro premium add-on, please note that we just started offering full calendar shortcodes ourselves.

The added benefit of using these is that you can easily add the location yourself using the themer’s guide above.

    Have a great day!

    Wow Mikko!

I am super stoked and impressed. Awesome job!

You are right, sometimes language file naming conventions are a bit on the odd side.
Thank you for sharing your tip!

Maybe you should just go for a tattoo that says #PolyGlot

You are welcome back on our support forums any time 🙂

For now, I am going to close this thread.

    Have a great week!
