ParticipantI have courses which run for several weeks. (So, every Wednesday at 7:00pm for 12 weeks in a row, for example).
These are courses with one fixed cost for the entire series, and from looking at other questions and answers it seems that I should make the first session it’s own event and attach the ticket to that event only.
Here’s my question: I want the entire series to display on the calendar, however, I only want the FIRST event (the one they can actually register for) to be a clickable link to full event information. For the remainder of the weeks I would like the calendar to display that the event is happening with something like “Event Title (in progress)” so that they can see that the event exists but for the title to not actually be an active link.
Possible?

MemberGood afternoon Sarah and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic. As you probably already know, we do not offer true support (at least for now) for recurring tickets. But this is no biggie since it is not what you are looking for.
I don’t know if you were aware, but we have a little snippet that lets you use a normal recurring event with tickets and hides the ticket from the recurring events. In other words, the ticket just displays in the first event of the series: https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/0535375b9315376b0c13cb8722d7434f
You will need to add that to the functions.php of your WordPress theme.

That is absolutely possible. But, it will require some template customization.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
You will need to add some conditional code that handles how the recurring events are displayed in the different views you want to have these changes in.
That being said, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.
If coding is not your thing, you can always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
Best regards,
Geoff B.
