ParticipantHey Mister,
Thanks for posting, & Iโm happy to help answer your question today. ๐
Unfortunately, this kind of request would require some plugin customization, which we can’t support on these forums. We have some guidance for working through making changes like this ย hereย and here. If you need to find someone to help with the customizations, we also have some tips for finding help here.
Hope this helps, and let us know if you need any clarification on these resources. ๐
Thanks,

ParticipantHi there Scott,
I totally understand where you’re coming from. (Sanity wears thin when you’re trying to implement features on a site sometimes!) I’m happy to aid in your sanity preservation today as best I can. ๐
So, that’s not a built in feature of our plugin, no. However, I did poke around a bit for you and found this plugin, which you may have some success with, but of course, we won’t be able to support that solution directly on these forums.
I sure hope this helps! Soldier on friend, & let us know if you have any other questions!
Best,

ParticipantHey Mark,
Thanks for reaching out, and I’m happy to help you out with this question about Filter Bar/displaying by category! ๐
You can definitely do this & here are two ways you could go about it:
- Use the Events Calendar Pro shortcodes to display the calendars and use the category argument. (This, however, will only allow you to display a mini calendar)
- So, what ย I’d recommend instead is linking in your menu to the pre-filtered calendar (requires the Filter Bar plugin). Here are some examples of how that would look in practice from our demo site, WP Shindig:
Let me know if you have any follow up questions about this, and of course, after you purchase, ย you’ll be able to get support for implementing either of these solutions over on our premium forums. ๐
Cheers!

ParticipantHey Ramon,
Thanks for using our plugins! That’s super frustrating, let’s see if we can’t get to the bottom of this, I’m happy to help. ๐
This looksย like it may be a theme or plugin conflict. I recommend going through the steps here to test for a conflict? Also if you can send over a copy of your system information, that would be extremely helpful!
Let me know what you find out & we’ll go from there!

ParticipantHi Melissa,
Welcome back to our forums, I’m happy to help! ๐
This is a pretty simple one, so I’ll get right down to it! Please paste the following code into your theme’s functions.php file:
$custom_text= array(‘Events’=> ‘Calendar’,For more information on implementing this change, you can reference this article in our knowledgebase. ๐Let me know how that goes for you!Cheers,Shelby ๐March 16, 2017 at 8:54 am in reply to: replace Search and Near to Event Category and Organizers #1255128Shelby
ParticipantHi Artur,
Thanks for reaching out & for including that screenshot, that’s VERY helpful! ๐ I’m happy to help you out with this question.
Unfortunately, since the “Near” and “Search” functions are a part of the regular tribe bar built into Events Calendar PRO, and the Category and Organizers, are both a part of the Filter Bar plugin, this kind of request would require some customization. We have some resources for doing that here. If you need to find someone to help with the customizations, we also have some tips for finding help here.
Hope this helps!
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Gary,
I think I may have been getting caught up on the language of your original wording a bit, which seemed to imply that you were seeking detailed information on how to go about this, my apologies! It seems now based on your clarifications, that you simply want to know if your idea is possible. This answer is yes, but it could be a bit complex.
While it IS possible to completely remove the main search bar and only use the filter bar, it would take some customization to your theme and/or the plugin; an effort which would need to be headed up by your own team/developer. Our premium support team would be happy to offer some guidance and answer questions along the way, but ultimately, could not guarantee that the final solution would be a simple one, depending on your specific needs.
Sorry again for getting off on the wrong foot there. I hope this answer gives you a bit more of the insight you were hoping to gain from this interaction. ๐
Best,
Shelby

ParticipantHi Martha,
Thanks for considering us for your events calendar needs, I’m happy to answer your question here. ๐
Yes, with Events Calendar PRO, you can insert various calendars with shortcodes with category arguments that would allow you to only show certain event types on the calendar. That method is detailed in our knowledgebase here. Alternatively, you could link to filtered calendars using our Filter Bar plugin. So, for example, if I wanted a menu item for “WP Meetups” I could create it as a custom link and link to this filtered version of our demo calendar, WP Shindig. Take a look at both options and see what would better suit your needs. ๐
Hope this answers your questions. Please feel free to ask any follow up’s you may have!
Best,

March 15, 2017 at 11:05 am in reply to: Selling tickets with four possible combinations… Event Tix Plus #1254667Shelby
ParticipantHi Sarah,
My apologies about the delay. Each time you replied, it kicked you back in my queue, as it sorts by ย the time of the last reply! I’ll be quoting you in italics below and responding to each piece so as not to miss anything:
Membership lasts 30 days for most VIPsโฆ. If they sign up again as a casual member (pay $20 each event) โ whatโs to stop them reusing the $20 discount code in future?ย Would I need to make several discount codes in WooCommerce that expire? After 30 days?
- Theoretically, you could create one coupon, and limit its use by email address, adding and removing members’ email addresses according to their VIP standing.
- Alternatively, you could create a coupon for each VIP member that expires after 30 days as well.
- You also may be able to use something like WooCommerce subscriptions to provide cart discounts on Events to VIP (“subscribed”) users, but to confirm this, you’d need to reach out to their support.
- Finally, you may be able to use something like this plugin to send your VIP users special links to the events that include the discount?
Another question: How do I limit the ticket purchase to just one ticket per person?
If each of your users has an account, you could do something like this user in this thread. ๐
Oh, and if someone needs to cancel their ticket โ do they do that automatically through their own account? And then does it become available form someone else to purchase?
You would need to cancel manually for the user, unfortunately. You’ll find the other information you need about cancelling orders here and here.
Again, so so sorry for the delayed response! I truly appreciate your good attitude and patience. ๐
Please feel free to ask any follow up questions or for any clarification you need on this one. ๐

ParticipantThanks for clarifying, Gary! ๐
The level of technical support you are seekingย is something we generally reserve for active license holders (even then, there are certain limits on how far we can support custom dev tasks like this one).
So, while I’m stoked to hear that you might consider purchasing a new license, and that a possible workaround to your blockersย is in sight, further assistance on this is not something we can provide for you here in our Pre-Sales forum.
You may, however, find it helpful to check into our Themer’s Guideย and current Functions List, both of which can be good resources to help navigate the process of making changes like the one you’ve described.
Thanks for understanding!
Cheers,

ParticipantHi Martin,
I know work arounds can be super frustrating, but thanks for hanging in there with us! Perhaps that recommendation wasn’t the best fit for your particular situation since you’re not selectively listing just a few countries as that user was.
I’ve pulled in some other members of our team on this thread, and in order to better help you with what might be causing the issue in the first place, I was wondering if we could get a few pieces of information?:
- Current System Information
- Current Events Calendar Pro version number
- Current WordPress version number
- A link to your website
- Exact steps for replication of the issue
Once we have this information, we should be able to make progress toward a specific recommendation for your situation.
Thanks again for your patience here!
Best,
Shelby ๐

ParticipantHi Lige,
You will be able to schedule imports from multiple Google Calendars using Event Aggregator. You can read more about how that’s done here.
Also, while you should feel free to follow threads related to your questions, we ask thatย in the future you open a separate thread, even for similar questions. We’ll be able to give you much more focused assistance and we’d love to help you more individually nextย time. ๐
Thanks!

March 15, 2017 at 10:15 am in reply to: Fitness Event Timetable, Booking and Attendee List – Which plugin ? #1254641Shelby
ParticipantHi JB,
It sounds like you have your plate full with this project! Thanks for considering our plugins for this, and I’ll try to help answer your questions here. I’ll be repeating some of your statements below and replying to them inline so that I can make sure to hit everything:
I want to create an online fitness timetable/calendar, that contains mutliple events.
With its WordPress account, I want that the client could choose and add a specific event to its Woocommerce cart to buy the lesson/event.You can accomplish this part with The Events Calendar (free), Events Calendar PRO, Event Tickets (free), Event Tickets Plus, & WooCommerce.
After the payment, the lesson/event would appear in a dedicated section of โMy Accountโ page and the name of the client should appear on the event page, as attendee (like on Facebook).
This kind of request would require some customization. We have some resources for doing that here. If you need to find someone to help with the customizations, we also have some tips for finding help here. However, you may be able to complete this with the BuddyPress plugins you referenced. In order to know for sure, I’d suggest reaching out to BuddyPress’s support.
PS : This website from your Showcase have a really nice calendar skin, is it an included skin in โThe Events Calendarโ plugin or a customized one specially for the website ?
This example appears to be a custom theme made for that site specifically, which calls to our plugin for event data. Unfortunately, that theme is not a part of our plugin.
I hope this answers your questions! Please feel free to reach out for clarification or should you have follow up questions. ๐
Best,
Shelby ๐

ParticipantHi there Susan,
Thanks for considering our plugins for your Events! I’d love to clarify some of these features for you today. ๐
I’m going to repeat each inquiry and list my response below each to make sure not to miss any of your questions :
- I am not selling tickets โ just want individuals to RSVP and provide specific information unique to this invitation. Individuals need to indicate first, last name, phone #, email address, daughterโs name, whether they will participate in dinner, vegetarian โ special diet etc.ย Can Event Tickets provide all of these fields?
In order to have this functionality, you’ll need to purchase Event Tickets Plus (ET+), yes. ET+ has a feature called Ticket Fieldsets that you can save and reuse for each even where you’ll need to collect the same or similar data for your attendees. ๐
(You can read more about that in this knowledgebase article on collecting attendee information)
You can also set the cost for these events as “No Cost” so that you can simply collect RSVPs with the data you mentioned. - Will it allow for payment of a dinner if they choose to attend the dinner only?
Yes! ๐ You can set up your events with more than one type of ticket (read more about making tickets here) that is assigned its own cost, and can either pull from a “Global Stock” for each event, or have it’s own set amount of stock.
- Can I import a list of invitees?
Unfortunately, no. You’ll have to email out the link to the event to your invitees. Some people do find ways to automate this process.
- Can I pull a report on all the fields I set up for individual to complete on registration form?
Yes! You can definitely download all of the attendee data. You can read more about how that works in our plugin here.
I hope this answers all of your initial questions. You may also have interest in checking out the Event Tickets Plus new user primer, which may help you get a better idea of how the plugin will work once purchased. And as always, we’ll be here to support you with any questions you have along the way. ๐
Please let me know if you have any follow up questions or if I can clarify any part of my response here!
Cheers! ๐

ParticipantHi Adam,
Thanks for your interest in our plugins. I’m happy to answer your questions here! ๐
- Does geographic filtering work internationally? At what level of granularity?
Yes! Geographic filtering does work internationally, as granularly as you’d like. You can test out the Filter Bar plugin for yourself over on our demo site, WP Shindig!
- Can people subscribe to a filtered calendar feed (in gCal, iCal, etc)?
Great question! Subscribing to a filtered feed isn’t an option at this time. However, users can Export a filtered list of events as a .ics file if they so choose (which can be demoed here.)
- Using the event aggregator, Iโd like to be able to periodically import existing calendars and set a default location per calendar if none is provided in an event from that calendar. Is that possible?
Unfortunately, default locations are not an option at this time, but that is a great idea! I’d suggest posting it as a feature suggestion in our UserVoice forum. ๐
Hope this helps! Please let me know if any follow up questions arise!
Best,
Shelby ๐
