Hi I have been trying to get your plug ins to work on a clients site but have really been struggling with the search filters.

I think I have come up with a way of getting everything to work if I can find a way of “ONLY” using the Filter Bar “Category Filter” & “State / Provence Filter”

However when I go in to settings and disable the “Event Search Bar” it still shows a date finder when using List View

Is there a way to completely remove the main search bar and only use the filter bar?

Because on a Mobile Device the main search bar causes a conflict and will not display the Filter bar sections correctly.

    Kind regards

    Gary

    Hey Gary,

    Thanks for using our plugins!

Since you seem to be a current user of our premium plugins and/or free plugins, I recommend reaching out to our support on the Events Calendar PRO premium forum, Filter Bar forum, or WordPress.org forum. In those places, we have the capacity to provide more technical support. This Pre-Sales forum is reserved specifically for questions about the features of our plugins for users who are making decisions about which, if any, to purchase.

Let me know if I can clarify any of this!

    Best,

    Shelby 🙂

    Hi Shelby,

    Thanks for your email.

The reason I posted in the pre sales is I had to get a refund on the premium plug in as I could not get them to function in the way my client wanted….but I have since come up with this work around if I can disable the main search bar.

As I no longer have a paid licence I cannot post in the main forum hence posting here.

If I can get an answer to my question I will repurchase the plug ins

    regards

    Gary

    Thanks for clarifying, Gary! 🙂

The level of technical support you are seeking is something we generally reserve for active license holders (even then, there are certain limits on how far we can support custom dev tasks like this one).

So, while I’m stoked to hear that you might consider purchasing a new license, and that a possible workaround to your blockers is in sight, further assistance on this is not something we can provide for you here in our Pre-Sales forum.

You may, however, find it helpful to check into our Themer’s Guide and current Functions List, both of which can be good resources to help navigate the process of making changes like the one you’ve described.

    Thanks for understanding!

    Cheers,

    Shelby 🙂

Thanks for your email Shelby but I am a bit confused

I am asking a very simple question.

Can the main filter search be disabled completely and the filter bar used instead?

Its a Yes or No answer

I am more than happy to purchase the premium plug ins as long as I can get them to work as we need.

I do not want to waste anyones time by having to purchase the plug ins again and then ask for a refund when you support people cannot give a definitive answer.

There is an option in the plug in setting that says disable the search bar…but when activated it still shows the date search which is not what I want.

So I will ask a simple question again…can the search bar be disabled completely ?

    regards

    Gary

    Hi Gary,

I think I may have been getting caught up on the language of your original wording a bit, which seemed to imply that you were seeking detailed information on how to go about this, my apologies! It seems now based on your clarifications, that you simply want to know if your idea is possible. This answer is yes, but it could be a bit complex.

While it IS possible to completely remove the main search bar and only use the filter bar, it would take some customization to your theme and/or the plugin; an effort which would need to be headed up by your own team/developer. Our premium support team would be happy to offer some guidance and answer questions along the way, but ultimately, could not guarantee that the final solution would be a simple one, depending on your specific needs.

Sorry again for getting off on the wrong foot there. I hope this answer gives you a bit more of the insight you were hoping to gain from this interaction. 🙂

    Best,

    Shelby

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
