GuestI’m very interested in some of the possibilities Events Calendar offers. My main interest is providing a community calendar of events in different places that people can filter geographically. I’ve got a few specific question.
– Does geographic filtering work internationally? At what level of granularity?
– Can people subscribe to a filtered calendar feed (in gCal, iCal, etc)?
– Using the event aggregator, I’d like to be able to periodically import existing calendars and set a default location per calendar if none is provided in an event from that calendar. Is that possible?March 14, 2017 at 8:56 pm #1254226Shelby
ParticipantHi Adam,
Thanks for your interest in our plugins. I’m happy to answer your questions here! š
- Does geographic filtering work internationally? At what level of granularity?
Yes! Geographic filtering does work internationally, as granularly as you’d like. You can test out the Filter Bar plugin for yourself over on our demo site, WP Shindig!
- Can people subscribe to a filtered calendar feed (in gCal, iCal, etc)?
Great question! Subscribing to a filtered feed isn’t an option at this time. However, users can Export a filtered list of events as a .ics file if they so choose (which can be demoed here.)
- Using the event aggregator, Iād like to be able to periodically import existing calendars and set a default location per calendar if none is provided in an event from that calendar. Is that possible?
Unfortunately, default locations are not an option at this time, but that is a great idea! I’d suggest posting it as a feature suggestion in our UserVoice forum. š
Hope this helps! Please let me know if any follow up questions arise!
Best,
Shelby š
