    Hi there!

Selling tickets for a singles event… 20 people. Customers must be members to access calendar and attend events.

VIP members attend for free. Casual members pay $20 each. How to sell?

I have read so far that if I want to sell 20 tickets in total for my event, I can click GLOBAL STOCK. And if 10 of those tickets are for FEMALES, then I choose to CAP the GLOBAL STOCK at 10. Yes?

Now, I create FEMALE TICKET – 10 available and MALE TICKET – 10 available… but if a VIP member wants a ticket – the price is $0. If a Casual Member wants a ticket, the should pay $20.

Help! How can I create my tickets?

    Thanks

    Hi Sarah,

Happy to help you out with this!

For this case, I would recommend using the “Global Stock” feature to limit ticket stock to 20, then creating 10 Women’s tickets at $20, and 10 Men’s tickets at $20. Then create a coupon code with WooCommerce for your VIP members that creates a $20 cart discount. Instruct them to use the code when they check out, and that will allow you to create a dating event that limits admission to 20 – 10 Men, 10 Women, with some of each being VIP and paid. ๐Ÿ™‚

Let me know if I can clarify any of this!

    Cheers,

    Shelby ๐Ÿ™‚

    Thanks Shelby,

Membership lasts 30 days for most VIPs…. If they sign up again as a
casual member (pay $20 each event) – what’s to stop them reusing the $20
    discount code in future?
Would I need to make several discount codes in WooCommerce that expire?
    After 30 days?

Another question: How do I limit the ticket purchase to just one ticket per person?

Oh, and if someone needs to cancel their ticket – do they do that automatically through their own account? And then does it become available form someone else to purchase?

    Hi Shelby,

I have asked two questions in the last five days in response to your
response… would you mind replying please? Time is of the essence here ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Hi Sarah,

My apologies about the delay. Each time you replied, it kicked you back in my queue, as it sorts by ย the time of the last reply! I’ll be quoting you in italics below and responding to each piece so as not to miss anything:

Membership lasts 30 days for most VIPsโ€ฆ. If they sign up again as a casual member (pay $20 each event) โ€“ whatโ€™s to stop them reusing the $20 discount code in future?ย Would I need to make several discount codes in WooCommerce that expire? After 30 days?

    • Theoretically, you could create one coupon, and limit its use by email address, adding and removing members’ email addresses according to their VIP standing.
    • Alternatively, you could create a coupon for each VIP member that expires after 30 days as well.
    • You also may be able to use something like WooCommerce subscriptions to provide cart discounts on Events to VIP (“subscribed”) users, but to confirm this, you’d need to reach out to their support.
    • Finally, you may be able to use something like this plugin to send your VIP users special links to the events that include the discount?

Another question: How do I limit the ticket purchase to just one ticket per person?

If each of your users has an account, you could do something like this user in this thread. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, and if someone needs to cancel their ticket โ€“ do they do that automatically through their own account? And then does it become available form someone else to purchase?

You would need to cancel manually for the user, unfortunately. You’ll find the other information you need about cancelling orders here and here.

Again, so so sorry for the delayed response! I truly appreciate your good attitude and patience. ๐Ÿ™‚

Please feel free to ask any follow up questions or for any clarification you need on this one. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Best,

    Shelby ๐Ÿ™‚
