KeymasterHi Bruce,
Thanks for pointing this out!
I took a look, and I see what you mean. I will bring this up with the team and see what we can do to improve the interface here. I’ll get back to you afterwards with an update!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Michael,
Thanks for reaching out!
Could you try updating to the latest versions of all three plugins:
The Events Calendar – 4.5.8.1
Events Calendar Pro – 4.4.14
Community Events – 4.5.2If you don’t see notices to update in your Plugins section, you can manually update by following these instructions.
After updating, could you install and activate the WP Query plugin, then try loading your events page. If you see any notices from the plugin (which will appear at the top of the screen in the admin bar – see screenshot), please copy and paste them here.
Thanks!
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Timothy,
Sorry that didn’t work for you…I’m not seeing the line on that page anymore though, were you able to get rid of it? If not, can you try it this way:
.tribe-events-list .type-tribe_events {
border-bottom: none !important;
}It’s working in my browser both ways, so hopefully this one will work for you as well!

KeymasterHi Sheryl,
Thanks for doing all of that testing! Many of our users use Yoast with our plugins, and there are occasionally some conflicts. However, they usually have to do with plugin settings, which is the good news! Can you try reenabling Yoast Premium and changing some of the settings there like disabling the URL rewriting feature you are referring to to see if you can get it working with The Events Calendar? Also, are you using any caching plugins, like WP Total Cache?
If you could share your system information with me, that would be helpful as well!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Arthur,
I did some more testing on my end, but I still was not able to recreate this issue…Do you have other products on your site that are not tickets? I want to point out that the Shop page does not display tickets by default (although it is possible to include them – see this post for more information, but it generally involves editing the ticket in WooCommerce and setting the catalog visibility to shop – see screenshot – or adding a snippet to include them by default).
Can you verify that the products (tickets and non-ticket products) that you want on the Shop page have their Catalog Visibility set to either “Shop” or “Shop and search results”?
If you have products that are set to display in the shop, and they are not displaying, could you please share your system info with me so that we can continue troubleshooting this issue?
Thanks!

KeymasterHi Crystal,
Thanks for reaching out!
Unfortunately, there is not a way to do this out of the box, since the custom ticket fields are associated with the tickets, not the orders. I think an easier solution for what you are looking to do would be to use something like WooCommerce’s Checkout Field Editor extension, which will allow you to easily edit the fields the user is presented at checkout. I also came across this free plugin which appears to also allow you to add new fields to the checkout page (although I haven’t used or tested it). If you’re comfortable editing code, WooCommerce also has this guide on customizing checkout fields using actions and filters.
If you’d like to make a customization to the way our custom fields operate, our Themer’s Guide is a great place to start! We are not currently able to do customizations, but we are happy to answer questions and point you in the right direction.
Andrew, this applies to your question as well. The information for the “Purchaser” is collected at checkout, so that would be the place to add the phone and address fields for that person.
I hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Mark,
I’m sorry about the delayed response here, but thank you for posting that update…I was doing some testing on my end, as I was a bit surprised that you were getting results for the default “chemistry” tag when I believe the “chemistry” tag you added to your events is an event tag.
WordPress taxonomies (like post tags) typically don’t apply to custom post types (like events) by default, but there are (relatively simple) ways to apply them to events, as it sounds like you did with the code you found. Events have a custom taxonomy that applies only to events, which is helpful for displaying events around your site and on your calendar by tag. So even if you have two posts (such as a standard post and an event) each with the a “chemistry” tag, they don’t typically display together unless a modification has been made for them to do so. Does that make sense?
Basically, there are ways to use default taxonomies on custom post types, and custom taxonomies on default post types, but both require a bit of a customization. We are not currently able to perform customizations, but our themer’s guide has some great info on customizing our plugins. For premium license holders, we are happy to answer questions and help point you in the right direction in our premium support forums.
Regarding the URL…have you changed the default slug for events under Events > Settings > General (default is events)? If so, I would recommend going under Settings > Permalinks and clicking “Save” after making this change to refresh the permalinks. Another possibility is that there is a URL-related conflict somewhere (have you tried testing for conflicts with your theme and other plugins?) that could be causing this.
I understand that you want to make sure the plugin works the way you’d like it to before purchasing, but please note that our Pre-Sales forum here is intended to answer questions regarding things like plugin features and pricing. We are not able to offer support here, but you can always post in our community forum and in our premium support forums (for in-depth support, after purchasing a license).
I hope that helps!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Mark,
Thanks for sharing that link with me. I tested it out (as a daily scheduled import), and it appears to be working on my end. We did just make some adjustments to the EA server to help with a few issues we were seeing with scheduled imports, so would you be able to try again and see if it is working for you now?
I’m sorry to hear about this new issue! It looks like you’re running The Events Calendar 4.5.7 and Pro 4.4.13…could you try updating to the most recent versions (TEC 4.5.8 and Pro 4.4.14)? If you’re not seeing a link to update in your Plugins section, you can update manually by following these instructions.
Also, when this happens, do you mean that when you run the import, 2 copies of the same event are coming in, or that a duplicate is being made of an event that had been previously imported? Does this occur with all of the events, or only certain events?
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Timothy,
It looks like you are using the same theme on both sites, so unless you have different settings or some custom CSS on one site that you don’t have on the other, they should display the same way. There really isn’t any CSS I can give you that will make them both display exactly the same way, but what I would recommend is going under Events > Settings > Display and try changing the settings for Default stylesheet used for events templates and Events template – definitely make sure both sites are using the same settings. There are also some options under Appearance > Customize > The Events Calendar that you can set, but these are mostly related to colors.
To remove the gray line, you can use
.tribe-events-list .type-tribe_events {
border-bottom: none;
}Let me know how that works!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Nat,
Thanks for reaching out! I’d be happy to help you with this, but first will you please post this question in our Events Calendar PRO forum? We use the Pre-Sales forum to answer questions about the features of our premium plugins for those interested in purchasing them.
If you have not purchased one of our premium plugins, you can post in our community forum on wordpress.org, which we review weekly to check for bug reports. If you need more in-depth support, you will need to purchase a license.
Our knowledgebase is a great place to start looking for answers. You can also search our premium forums to see if another user has posted about a similar issue. Since this happened after changing your theme, the best place to start is testing for a conflict.
Finally, I would like to note that while we do offer free versions of Events Calendar Pro and Event Tickets Plus to approved nonprofit organizations, access to post in our premium support forums does require a paid license.
I hope that helps!
Thanks,
Jennifer

KeymasterHi Robert,
You are correct! Sorry about the discrepancy, but nice job finding the correct spot!
$button_label = esc_html_x( ‘Buy Now!‘, ‘list view buy now ticket button’, ‘event-tickets’ );
You can change Buy now to whatever you’d like.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
Jennifer
KeymasterNo problem! I’m glad to hear it’s working now!
Since this thread has been marked “resolved”, I’ll go ahead and close it out. Feel free to open a new one if you have any further questions!

KeymasterHello,
Thanks for reaching out!
Unless there are tickets on the event, it shouldn’t be a problem to just change the details on the old events. In fact, keeping the number of events down in the database is always good for keeping query times low!
There are a couple of things I would point out..If she is not changing the permalinks each time she enters the new details, then this could of course affect any analytics you may be doing on individual events, as many different events would effectively be the same page.
If she is changing them, then this could result in 404 errors if users try to click a link for an event that has passed and been changed – instead of getting an “expired” event, they would be going to a link that no longer exists.
Otherwise, I am not aware of any problems that doing it this way would cause. I hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer
