    Hi Reggie,

    I completely understand where you’re coming from here. We have all been disappointed about the changes related to Facebook as well. We have done our best to remove all references to Facebook imports from our Event Aggregator product pages but still offer workarounds for the API issue where we can. I checked on our internal tickets for the Eventbrite search/category URL issue, and it looks like these are slated for the next maintenance release and should hopefully be out over the next few weeks, although I cannot make any guarantees here.

    I’m sorry I don’t have a better update for you here, but we’ll notify you as soon as this has been resolved!

    Hello,

    No problem, I’m happy to leave this ticket open. It will close automatically after three weeks of inactivity, but if that does happen and you still need further assistance, you can always open up a new ticket ๐Ÿ™‚

    Hi Jamie,

    Can you tell me which version of The Events Calendar you are running where itย is working? I can check our logs to see what changed after that version.

    Also, did you clear out all caching (browser and any site/server caching you might be doing) after updating everything on your site (theme and plugins)?

    Hi Jann,

    Thanks for running through that testing! It looks like this might be an issue with the Datepicker Date Format option under Events > Settings > Display > Date Format Settings – can you try switching this to the first option (2018-01-15) and see if that gets the list view working correctly? Make sure to clear out your browser cache and the cache within W3 Total Cache after updating that setting.

    This issue appears to be happening with any setting other than the default (which is why I wasn’t seeing it locally when I tested this out initially). This has been logged for our developers to take a look at, so as soon as we have an update on a fix, we’ll let you know here. However, switching back to the default should solve this for now.

    You can definitely test Pro on your staging server without it affecting the live site…as long as you have two separate WordPress installs, what you do on one should not affect the other. You do not need to enter your license key on the staging site to use the plugin there. The key gives you access to support and automatic updates, but it is not required for the plugin to function. Depending on your staging domain, you may be able to add the key there as well though to take advantage of automatic updates (this article has some more info on how this works).

    I’m sorry for the inconvenience that this caused, and thank you for your patience while we work on getting it resolved!

    Hi Josh,

    Thanks for clarifying that. I’ll set this ticket to “Pending Fix”, which will keep it from being automatically closed. That way, when this issue with the extension is resolved, we can notify you here.

    Hi Kate,

    We’ll post an update on this here as soon as we have one…please note that our extensions are not supported in the same way that our premium plugins are, so unfortunately it might take a bit longer to get fixes for them.

    I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer for you at the moment – we haven’t forgotten about this though!

    I’m glad to hear that the latest release solved the initial problem for you! Regarding the second issue, I took a look through your previous threads – are you referring to exported ics file that you posted about here? If so, I did some digging on this topic, and I am not seeing any bug reports currently open for this particular issue. I did a quick test importing the calendar export from my local environment to my Google calendar as well, and the export was working locally for me…Regarding the “Headers already sent” message that yo mentioned before – this is usually due to extra space at the end of a file. In this case, it looks like it’s coming from the Category Colors extension. You can read more about this warning here, but it is unlikely that this is related to the export issue.

    I definitely understand your frustration here, and I apologize that we weren’t able to get to the bottom of things the last time you reached out! It is possible that there is a bug on our end, but we do need to be able to recreate the issue in order to confirm this. I know Jaime had asked you to set up a fresh install of WordPress with only The Events Calendar, Events Calendar Pro, and Community Events installed. Did you try this out, and if so, were you still not able to import the export?

    I looked at the ics file that I downloaded from your events page, and it looks like the events in the file are all pretty far into the future (2020). However, they did import into my Google calendar (see screenshot). When you click the “Export events” button, the events exported should beย only the ones that are currently displayed on the screen. It looks like there was a similar known issue (where the events farthest into the future were exported in month view) in the past, but this was resolved and the export functionality has been fully reworked since then. If you are running the current versions of The Events Calendar (4.6.24.1) and Events Calendar Pro (4.4.33), this would not be the source of this issue.

    With this information, it is definitely possible that The Events Calendar isn’t getting along well with something else on your site – that doesn’t mean that you would need to necessarily change either your theme or our plugin, but identifying where the issue is coming from is an important first step in working on a solution. It’s also possible that there is a setting somewhere, even within The Events Calendar plugin, that is causing this issue. That’s where the idea of setting up a completely fresh environment and from there, configuring it to match your live site, can be a good one to help narrow down the source of the problem.

    I really do wish that I could give you a more straightforward answer on this, but since none of us have been able to recreate it and aren’t currently seeing any reports of the same thing from other users, it is likely related to something specific to your environment. Still, I’ll be happy to do what I can to help you get this figured out!

    Hi Alex,

    I’m sorry that you’re running into this issue with the shortcode navigation for featured events…I tested it out on my end and am seeing the same thing. I logged this for our developers to take a look at, but unfortunately I don’t have an ETA that I can give you at the moment as to when this will be resolved. But, as soon as we have an update, we’ll let you know here.

    I also tested out the issue you mentioned with filtering when the “Show only the first upcoming instance of recurring events” option is checked, but I was not able to recreate this one. Just to clarify, is the filtering lost on your end when you hit the next/previous links, or are the shortcode events not filtered at all when that option is checked?

    For the time being, you might want to look at using the Events List Widget (which also has a shortcode and lets you show only featured events), but this would not allow you to use photo view. Alternatively, you could increase the number of events displayed per page under Events > Settings > General > “Number of events to show per page” or temporarily hide the navigation with CSS.

    I apologize for the inconvenience that this is causing, and thank you for your patience as we work on getting it resolved! Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.

    Hi Krystyna,

    I am referring to the “Once” occurrences when I say rules; each time you click “Add more events” and set up another occurrence, you are creating a new rule (see screenshot) – sorry for the confusion there!

    When you add these and hit “Update”, the occurrences that you addded should still be there when the page refreshes. If you added these previously and lost them due to this bug, you will need to re-add them.

    If you are missing occurrences on a recurring event, can you try adding them again, clicking “Update”, and see if they are still there when the page refreshes? If not, can you try creating a brand new series with “Once” occurrences and see if you are able to update that event without losing the “Once” occurrences?

    If you didn’t clear out the cache within WP Super Cache after updating, please make sure to do so before testing this out.

    Hi Victor,

    I’m glad to hear that this is working for you now!

    Regarding the CSS issue, you can try adding an !important tag:

    .tribe-events-adv-list-widget .list-date {
    display: none !important;
    }

    I tried to take a look at your staging site to test it out, but I was not able to get it to load…We are limited in the amount of support that we can provide for customizations, but if you need further help with this, please feel free to open up a new thread. We’ll be happy to try to point you in the right direction!

    Thanks,

    Hi Josh!

    Nice work tracking that down…is this the article you are referring to? If so, did you download the extension it links to and just change the label to “Presenter”? I see on that extension page that there is a known issue where the single instructor (linked post type) page does not have the next/previous navigation. I did some testing with this extension and did see that the navigation is missing from the main events page (in list view) as well. I will update our internal ticket on this to reflect that so that our developers can take a look.

    On my end, the navigation is only missing when the Instructors/Presenters are included as a filter in Filter Bar, which you can change under Events > Settings > Filters. If you remove that filter, the navigation is showing in list view. Are you seeing the same thing on your end?

    If you are using some other code and not the extension, can you please send me a copy of the code that you’re using via a gist (along with the article you got it from if possible)? You are correct that customizations and extensions are outside our scope of support, but I’ll be happy to take a look and see what I can recommend!

    Thanks,

    Jennifer
