    Hi Karen,

Thanks for providing me with that information.

Facebook recently announced a range of changes (https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/04/restricting-data-access/) to their APIs (the protocols we use to ‘speak’ to their servers and retrieve event information) which are having an affect on a number of our users.

We are currently figuring things out as they continue to evolve with the Facebook Privacy Policy. For now, the best places to check in on the status of our plugin’s access to Facebook are https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/ and https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/.

However, at this time, it appears that for most of our users that Facebook imports are no longer working.

Let me know if you have any other questions on this issue!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Nadav,

Thank you for your feedback.  I’m sorry to hear that you have been unsatisfied with our plugin so far.  Unfortunately, I’m not able to replicate the issues that you are describing, so they are most likely not bugs within our system, but rather there is something going on with your setup.

I know that troubleshooting can be frustrating and I appreciate you sticking with it here.

As a next step, can you try updating your plugins to the most recent version?  There was a maintenance release that came out yesterday.

If that doesn’t help, can you try setting up a fresh WordPress install with only our plugins installed and see if you experience the same issues?

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Dave,

Hm okay, that is interesting.  That may be a viable solution for now, however in the next month, Google will be removing all keyless map access, so an API Key will be required.

Can you try setting up a new Google Maps API Key and see if that helps?

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

in reply to: second ical not being aggregated #1527102

    Hi Bart,

Thanks for providing with that information.  If you go to your Events on the backend, does the event appear in the Ignored tab?

Also, if you go to Events Settings < Imports, can you see if the Default Status is something other than Published?  If that is the case, it may end up in Drafts or Pending.

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: ical feeds make all day event export as two days #1527081

    Hi Tom,

Thanks for providing me with that information.  I exported the May 10 event from your calendar, and imported it into my iCal.  The event remained on May 10 only, which is the expected behavior.

Have you tried this functionality on more than one calendar?  It is possible that the timezone (or the lack of timezone data) on the calendar that you are exporting to may be causing this issue.

Let me know if that makes any difference!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: Imported Events Duplicating #1527067

    Hi Terrence,

    1. To be honest, I’m not quite sure why this is happening all of a sudden.  It could be a theme, plugin, or customization conflict causing the issue.  You can run through our testing for conflicts procedure and see if you get the same results.
    2. This tool should work on all recurrences, regardless of whether the recurrence is the same day/time each week.
    3. If you change it to “Do not re-import” then events that have been imported to your site will not be duplicated or altered when your scheduled import runs again.  Only new events will be added to your site.  You can read more about that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/event-aggregator-import-settings/#update-authority

Let me know how that goes and if you have any other questions along the way!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Dom,

Thanks so much for reaching out and for your interest in our products!

By default, we do not have that functionality available, however you may be able to make something like this work with the addition of a third-party plugin or customization.

Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: Change month calendar view #1526546

    Hi Nadja,

Thanks so much for reaching out again!

As a first step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    • A conflict with another plugin
    • A conflict with your WordPress theme
    • A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    • Make a backup of your database
    • Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Matt,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

A simpler way to do this would be to add (and adjust) the following snippet to your theme’s (or child theme’s) functions.php file:

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/adjust-the-quantity-input-values/

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

in reply to: Event Aggregator not finding events #1526506

    Hi Karen,

Thanks so much for reaching out again!

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

In addition, can you provide me with the URL that you are trying to import, so that I can do some testing on my end?

Also, can you enable and check the Event Log under Events < Help to see if you see anything unusual?

Right under that is your Event Aggregator Status. Can you take a screenshot of what you see there?

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Aprille,

Thanks so much for reaching out and for your interest in our products!

With Community Events, users can create a new venue from the front-end of your site.

Technically, an Organizer is a custom post type, not a WordPress user, so it cannot be the current user unfortunately.

The https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/hide-others-organizers-and-venues-in-community-events/ extension can come in handy to show users only the Organizers and Venues they previously created.

Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Mustafa,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

Also, do you see the same issue if you switch to a default WordPress theme, like ‘Twentyseventeen’?

in reply to: Having issues importing iCal AND Google Calendar #1526494

    Hi April,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Timely allows you to export your events and save them as .ics files. You can import events from ICS files with Events Aggregator.

It sounds like you have been partially successful, in that you have been able to import all of your future events, is that correct?

As far as your past events go, you can import past events by refining the import by date and stating the start date from where you want to fetch events from.

We have a good article about importing from a feed or url here > https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/import-from-feed-or-url/

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,
