    Hi Richard,

Thanks for writing back.  My first question is whether this is something you’d like to figure out how to fix or if you’re okay with the state of things.  I’d love to help you find the root of the issue, if you are up for it.

As a first step, can you provide me with your system information?  This way we can check to make sure everything is up to date and take a look at what plugins and theme you are using.  You can follow the instructions in this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Also, would you mind switching to a default theme, such as Twenty sixteen, and seeing if the issue is still there?  I ask because I am seeing some Javascript-based errors, and have a hunch that this may alleviate the issue.

Let me know how it goes and if you have any additional questions along the way!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for reaching out and for using our products!

I’m sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your site.  The screenshot you provided us with is very helpful.

As a first step, I’d like for you to try to test for conflicts that could be causing this issue.  Sometimes another plugin or a theme can conflict with our plugin, causing things to look or act a little differently than we expect them to.  You can follow this guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

If that does not resolve the issue, would you mind providing us with a link to the page where the issue is?

Please let us know how it goes and if you have any other questions along the way!

    Hi Philipp,

Thanks for reaching back out to us!  I’m sorry to hear that you are still having the issue related to W3 Total Cache and I can understand your frustration.  The problem seems to be that W3 Total Cache is minifying our plugins scripts and styles, though they are already minified.  You may find this article helpful: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/problems-with-minification/

In addition, some of our customers who have also experienced this issue have found this article to help them to find a solution: https://tangerinemoons.com/using-wordpress-w3-total-cache-modern-tribes-event-calendar/

Please let us know how it goes and if you need anything else along the way!

Great, thank you for providing that information to us!  I’m sorry that you are still experiencing this issue.

As a next step, I’d like for you to test for conflicts.  Sometimes there is a conflict between our plugins and other plugins and themes, and compatibility can cause issues on your site.  You can follow the instructions in this article in our to test for conflicts: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

Please let us know how it goes and if you have any other questions along the way!

Great, thank you for providing us with that information.  I’m sorry that you are still having this issue, I know this can be frustrating, so thank you for your patience.

A few next steps to consider:

    • I would start by updating The Events Calendar Pro and Community Events.  There are more recent versions of both of these plugins, and that may help to fix your issue.
    • Try to set up a different type of test email, such as a new User, so that you can confirm if other types of emails are getting sent properly.
    • Contact your host to see if emails are going through there.

Finally, I noticed that you do have Easy WP SMTP set up on your site, which was going to be my next suggestion.  If you are using this plugin for your emails, the issue may be related to the way you have things configured there.  Are you sending your emails through their servers?  This tends to be a great option if emails are not being sent properly through WordPress.  If you have any questions for them, you can post in their forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/easy-wp-smtp

You can continue to check for submitted Community Events in the Drafts folder under Events for now, until the emails work.  Once you update your plugins and move through the steps I mentioned, let me know how it goes!

    Hi Greg,

    Thanks for reaching out!

You are welcome to use The Events Calendar and our other plugins along with an email marketing service, such as Campaign Monitor.  We don’t recommend or discourage use of any specific email marketing service, so you are welcome to take your pick.

You may have to do some customizations in order to make everything work together, but that is what is so great about our products.  They are highly customizable!

I hope this helps to answer your question.  Please feel free to reach out if anything else comes up.

    Hi!

Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in our plugins!

The Events Calendar creates events and calendars right out of the box (https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar-pro/).  With a few adjustments, you can create a membership integration.  Here is how you can create a “members-only” calendar: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-members-calendar/

In addition, you may want to check out this article as well, which will allow you to set different permissions for different roles: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/admin-roles-and-permissions/

You can sell tickets to your events with Event Tickets Plus (https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/).

As this type of integration doesn’t occur right out of the box, you may need to consider integrating third-party plugins to achieve your results for something such as annual memberships.  Feel free to vote on this suggestion here: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas/suggestions/13391079-woocommerce-memberships-integration.  As you can see, others are interested in this idea and we consider implementing suggestions based on their popularity.

I hope this helps to answer your questions!  Please let us know if you need anything else!

in reply to: Show attendees list (not just squares for avatars) #1347961

    Hi Chip,

Thanks for reaching out and for using our products!

As I understand it, you would like to include the attendees’ names, in addition to their avatar.  It seems like you already understand where to edit the code, but just in case, our Themer’s Guide can help to get you started: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/

You will want to locate this file in your WordPress folder: /wp-content/plugins/event-tickets-plus/src/views/attendees-list.php

Then copy this file and place the copy into a new folder called tribe-events in your theme’s folder. Any changes you make to this copy will be reflected in your attendee lists on your site.

This snippet may help you to add the names onto the attendee list: https://gist.github.com/cliffordp/718af5da51046f60b92372d01804f433

Also, please feel free to add or vote on this idea, as we tend to implement suggestions based on popularity: https://tribe.uservoice.com/forums/195723-feature-ideas

Please let us know how it goes and if there’s anything else we can do to help!

    Hi Ulf,

Thanks for reaching out and for using The Events Calendar!

I see what you mean about the dropdown menu not working, I’m sure that is frustrating, so we will try to get to the bottom of it.  I see that you are not running the most recent version of The Events Calendar.  As a first step, let’s start by updating the plugin and retesting to see if that resolves the issue.  If you have not been prompted to automatically update, you can follow these instructions to manually update your plugins: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/manual-updates/

If that does not resolve your issue, would you mind sharing your system information with us?  You can follow the instructions in this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

    Hi Travis,

Thanks so much for providing me with that information and for answering my questions!

Just to confirm, you are saying that you receive emails from WordPress related to other things, such as new Users being created, correct?  You may want to check with your hosting provider to see if the emails are going through on their end.

Although you have provided us with login credentials, we unfortunately try not to log in to customer’s sites, and would prefer if you provided the system information yourself.  Here is the link again for your reference: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

In the meantime, please make sure that you are running the most recent versions of your plugins, especially Community Events.  As a first step, you may want to test for conflicts, if you haven’t already done so.  This article can walk you through the steps: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

    Hi Travis,

Thanks for reaching out and for using our products!

I’m sorry to hear that you are having an issue with receiving emails for Community Events.  Have you ever received the emails from the creation of new community events?  I am wondering if something caused those emails to stop sending, if that is the case.

One other thing to note is that sometimes these emails can end up in your spam folder.  You can check there as well, just in case.

And just one more question: are you experiencing issues with other emails on your site, such as when a new User is created?

In the meantime, you can view the user-submitted events under Events—>Drafts, which you may have to check periodically until you receive emails again.

Also, would you mind providing us with your system information?  This way, I can see if there is anything that sticks out there and make sure that everything is up to date.

Here is a link that can walk you through how to do that:  https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Once I have some more information, I’d be happy to help you to solve your issue!
