venue doesnt autocomplete when creating an event

Hi,
When creating an event, the venue field is stuck on “searching” and does not automatically complete/show a list of all venues.
This is making work very difficult because we have to make sure to copy the exact venue name and we have lots of events that update regularly.

Thanks so much for reaching out!

As a first step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:

• A conflict with another plugin
• A conflict with your WordPress theme
• A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

• Make a backup of your database
• Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

What plugin are you using for your translations?  If you remove your translations temporarily, do you see the venues return?

Hi Nadav,

Can you please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see?

Of course, you need to be able to translate the plugin, I was just wondering if there was a conflict there or a display issue.  But we can skip over that for now, if you’d prefer.

Thanks so much for getting that information to me.  And just to confirm, have you tried disabling all other plugins and switching to a default WordPress theme, like ‘Twentyseventeen’?

I ask because I see a number of notices related to other plugins and theme, and I just want to double check that there is no conflict at play here.

Look, I’m trying to get your assistance for too long.
I’m late on a project because so many things with your plugin wont work in terms of putting content in – for instance, when trying to upload events from a csv file the table on which you need to choose the field values for the columns doesn’t show properly (it’s wider than the screen) so I can’t upload from csv.
I’ve built lots of websites in my life and this is my first go with your plugin and I really can’t say I’m pleased.
As I said before YES, I did turn off all plugins and returned to twenty-seventeen on a dev. environment, and it didn’t help.
Your plugin is the only thing not working properly in my site, I paid for so many extensions you have, and I really think I deserve better support for problems that are preventing me from being able to deliver a whole product for my customer.

Thank you for your feedback.  I’m sorry to hear that you have been unsatisfied with our plugin so far.  Unfortunately, I’m not able to replicate the issues that you are describing, so they are most likely not bugs within our system, but rather there is something going on with your setup.

I know that troubleshooting can be frustrating and I appreciate you sticking with it here.

As a next step, can you try updating your plugins to the most recent version?  There was a maintenance release that came out yesterday.

If that doesn’t help, can you try setting up a fresh WordPress install with only our plugins installed and see if you experience the same issues?
