  • Hi John,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Facebook recently announced a range of changes (https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/04/restricting-data-access/) to their APIs (the protocols we use to ‘speak’ to their servers and retrieve event information) which are having an affect on a number of our users.

We are currently figuring things out as they continue to evolve with the Facebook Privacy Policy. For now, the best places to check in on the status of our plugin’s access to Facebook are https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/ and https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/.

The short version is that Facebook imports are currently not working for most of our users at this time.

Please let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: Posting Picture Events Within A Page #1532716

    Hi Scott,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Images are not shown in the list widget by default, but you could add it via a customization – our themer’s guide is the place to start if you’d like to give this a shot! You might also take a look at photo view, which comes with Events Calendar Pro. You can display this anywhere on your site using shortcodes.

Also, you may be interested in our Image Widget plugin, which allows you to add image widgets to your site.

Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!

in reply to: Waitlist workaround in practice? #1532700

    Hi Tyler,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Unfortunately, the waitlist feature does not currently exist out of the box with our plugin.  What was mentioned in that thread is that it could be possible to customize our plugin in order to create a waitlist feature, although this is not something that we can assist with, as per our Support Policy.

If this functionality is a requirement for your intended project, I’d suggest that a third-party developer would be the best way to make this feature happen on a short timeline. ? We maintain a list of developers who work with our plugins on our Knowledgebase here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/find-a-customizer/

In order to use the RSVP feature to create a waitlist, you will have to wait until you have reached capacity, and then create a new RSVP to act as a waitlist.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a perfect process, as it is just a workaround for a feature that does not exist.  There will be some manual work required on your end in order to then add the waitlisted individuals to the event.  You can try implementing the User Switching third-party plugin, to switch to the users and add them to the event via the front end.  Once you do, they will get an email that their RSVP has been confirmed.

Let me know if that helps and if you have any other questions on this topic!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Tanya,

Thanks so much for reaching out again! And I’m sorry to hear that you are once again experiencing this issue.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

in reply to: Events Tickets has disappeared and can't load #1532692

    Hi Ronald,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Can you first try to upload and update Event Tickets manually using the following tutorial.  You may want to delete Event Tickets first via FTP and re-download it.  Before doing so, I’d recommend creating a backup of your site, just to be safe:

After doing this, you should be able to re-download Event Tickets Plus without issue.

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Mike,

Unfortunately, I do all of my testing on a local site, so I cannot provide a link to my site.

Have you been able to take a look at your stylesheets and page templates and see if altering these settings helps you to achieve the results that you are looking for:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/stylesheets-and-page-templates/

Does the navigation shrinking work on some pages and not others?  It appears to me that it is working, but can you link me to a page where it is not working?

Let me know if you have any other questions along the way!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Carsten,

Thanks for checking in.  Unfortunately I do not have an ETA on when this will be complete.  I can assure you that this issue is currently being worked on and this thread will be notified when a fix has been released.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in this process.

Please let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

in reply to: Attendee Form Validation #1532068

    Hi Michael,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

You are correct, unfortunately there is no form validation other than marking a field as Required.

If you’d like to try your hand at this customization, I’d recommend starting off by taking a look at our Themer’s Guide, which can show you which templates can be edited and copied in order to achieve the results that you are looking for.

You can also add this idea to our Feature Requests, as we tend to implement ideas based on customer feedback, so your input is greatly appreciated:

    Hi Ceejay,

Thanks so much for reaching out again!

You can move the attendee to another ticket type.  The following tutorial should be able to give you some more specifics on how to do that:

Let me know if that helps!

in reply to: Should I Renew? Need Features on Feeds #1532055

    Hi Susan,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

We appreciate all of your ideas.  Would you mind specifying what import source you are using, where you are not seeing these features?  I’d love to be able to give you some more specific advice on your ideas.  Did you have any specific questions about the missing features or how you’d be able to implement something similar?

You can also add these ideas to our Feature Requests, as we tend to implement ideas based on customer feedback, so your input is greatly appreciated:

in reply to: List view not showing accurate capacity #1532034

    Hi Lori,

Thanks so much for running through that testing.

You can enable debugging by adding the following code to your wp-config.php file:

    define('WP_DEBUG', true);

// Don't display errors on the front end, instead...
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);

// Enable Debug logging to the /wp-content/debug.log file
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: How to remove "Events For" text from calendar header #1532024

    Hi Brandon,

You can try one of the snippets provided in the following forum thread, which addresses the exact string you’d like to remove:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/unable-to-remove-events-for-from-the-month-title/

Let me know if that helps!
