    Hi Derek,

This should be an immediate change.  You can try flushing your permalinks if you don’t see a change, and clearing your browser history as well.

You can also check out your site in a private browser window, so that there is no history there.

I tried the snippet myself and it worked from my end.  Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: Attendees RSVPs and Tickets not matching #1532013

    Hi Kris,

What method are you using to move your RSVPs?  In general, when moving RSVPs, you need to manually adjust the stock, so that your numbers match up.

You can read more about that here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-tickets/

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: Community Tickets breaks my theme #1531990

    Hi Mike,

Thanks for getting that information to me.

I was able to upload your theme and was able to get a gallery to work with it as well.

Can you confirm that when you switched to a default theme, everything worked as expected?

At this point, you may also want to reach out to your theme developers in the meantime to see if they have any solutions for you on this issue as well.

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: Display of "next events" hidden #1531981

    Hi Alan,

Thanks for running through that testing.  It sounds like the conflict may be with your Divi theme, as everything worked as expected when you switched to a default theme.  Is that correct?

Are you using the most recent version of your theme?  If not, I’d recommend updating before moving ahead.

Once you have updated, could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.

This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

Basically the goal here is just for me to confirm that this issue is present on the latest version of our plugin.  I cannot guarantee that I can provide a resolution to this issue.

Please also note that support for theme conflicts is limited as stated in our support policy.

You may also want to reach out to your theme developers in the meantime to see if they have any solutions for you on this issue as well.

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Nitha,

    Okay, good to know.

As I had previously noted,  support for customizations is limited as stated in our support policy.

So what you can do is to edit the template for whichever view you are using (Month View, List View, etc.) to include the other elements that you’d like to include.  You can use our Themer’s Guide as a starting point, which can help you to locate the template that you need:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: Links To View Events On Each Day Broken #1531969

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for running through those steps.

As a next step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    • A conflict with another plugin
    • A conflict with your WordPress theme
    • A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    • Make a backup of your database
    • Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: How to remove "Events For" text from calendar header #1531573

    Hi Brandon,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

You can use the snippet provided in the following tutorial to change any string in our plugin:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-the-wording-of-any-bit-of-text-or-string/

Let me know if that helps!

in reply to: Links To View Events On Each Day Broken #1531571

    Hi Mark,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

As a first step, can you update all Events Calendar related plugins to their most recent versions and see if that helps to resolve your issue?

If not, after doing so, can you try flushing your permalinks by going to Settings < Permalinks and Save Changes.  You will want to clear your browser and site cache as well after doing this.

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: Events Are not importing #1531567

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Facebook recently announced a range of changes (https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2018/04/restricting-data-access/) to their APIs (the protocols we use to ‘speak’ to their servers and retrieve event information) which are having an affect on a number of our users.

We are currently figuring things out as they continue to evolve with the Facebook Privacy Policy. For now, the best places to check in on the status of our plugin’s access to Facebook are https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/ea-fb-privacy-policy/ and https://theeventscalendar.com/event-aggregator-status/.

The short version of that is currently, most users are not able to import from Facebook, and we can’t make any guarantees on if/when that functionality will return.

Please let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: Calendar widget not responsive #1531549

    Hi Bart,

Okay, thanks for going through that testing.  This indicates that the issue is with your theme here.

Just to let you know, we are limited by our Support Policy in how much we can help with theme customizations, but I will try to point you in the right direction.

As a first step, I’d recommend taking a look at your stylesheets and page templates and see if altering these settings helps you to achieve the results that you are looking for:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/stylesheets-and-page-templates/

If that doesn’t help, the following section of the Themer’s Guide can help guide you on how to change your mobile styles:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/#responsive

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

in reply to: 100s of Spammers entering Events #1531537

    Hi Susan,

I visited your site and it does require a log-in to see the submission page, which is great.

If you are being spammed, I am assuming that somehow, the spammers have figured out a way to create a WordPress user account on your site and circumvent the Captcha you have in place.

To address that, there are a couple of things I would recommend:

    1. Install a plugin such as Theme my login: https://wordpress.org/plugins/theme-my-login/ . That will provide you with more control over the login and account creation process (adding a hurdle), provided you configure it accordingly
    2. Install a security plugin (iThemes security and Wordfence are popular choices). This will let you control users from official blacklists as well as prevent spammers from using scripts to try to create users.

Let me know if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Dave,

I’m sorry to hear that.  Please note that this thread will self-close in three weeks, but feel free to open a new thread (and reference this one) if/when you decide to re-address the issue.

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

in reply to: integrating featured events and blog links #1531517

    Hi Nitha,

Where are you looking to display these?  Are you referring to the homepage or on your main events page?

Please also note that support for customizations is limited as stated in our support policy.

In any case, I’d recommend starting off by taking a look at our Themer’s Guide, which can show you which templates can be edited and copied in order to achieve the results that you are looking for.

As far as displaying events based on a user’s current location, unfortunately we don’t have that feature currently available.

If this functionality is a requirement for your intended project, I’d suggest that a third-party developer would be the best way to make this feature happen on a short timeline. ? We maintain a list of developers who work with our plugins on our Knowledgebase here:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/find-a-customizer/

You can also add this idea to our Feature Requests, as we tend to implement ideas based on customer feedback, so your input is greatly appreciated:

Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!

    Thanks,

    Jaime
