May 22, 2017 at 9:19 pm in reply to: Issues with Events Ticket Plus and Woocommerce multilingual #1287490Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Andrei and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us in your own thread (as discussed previously).
I would love to help you with this topic. As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
The first thing I would recommend would be to manually delete the WooCommerce Multilanguage plugin and reinstall it from scratch.
Until we can get past that, our hands are a bit tied.
Additionally, please make sure everything is setup as described here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-events-calendar-with-wpml/
Once you have solved the WooCommerce multilingual issue, after creating the ticket AND saving the event, head over to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting page.
Once you are there, you should see several cleanup buttons. I would recommend:
- Clearing WPML cache
- Using the button that forces language assignment to items (which is what is creating the issue). This can also be accomplished by deactivating and reactivating WPML.
Your ticket will now magically appear.
The only downside is that the tickets you create in other languages are not really translations of the initial ticket. They are completely independent new tickets.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,
Geoff B.Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Sarah,
Thank you for everything so far.
The snippet wizard should be back at work tomorrow, I will let you know as soon as I hear from him.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.

MemberGood evening Jürgen,
Thank you for the files.
I ran some tests on my end. The relatively good news is that I did not encounter the same issue you did.
This leads me to believe that there is some type of conflict at play.
This is usually because of:- A conflict with another plugin
- A conflict with your WordPress theme
- A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating
When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.
A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.
The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:
- Make a backup of your database
- Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)
Let me know how that goes.

MemberGood evening Charlie,
I am glad that did the trick for you!
To your point, there is already a request to make this a separate capability.
You will be contacted as soon as it’s out.In the meantime, you could cheat by adding the capability and then hiding the undesired wp-admin menus (via functions.php or a plugin such as Adminimize).
It’s less than ideal, but it should buy you some time.
Is there anything else I can help you with on this topic ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberGood evening Mark,
Can repeated events be limited to first one i.e. Show only the first upcoming instance of recurring events? on front page version?
The short answer is yes, but as previously stated, this will require a bit of customization on your end.
In your case, that means adding a customization to the “This week’s events” widget.
Basically, you have to find a way to include the post_parent value of zero in your customization (as you can see in the previous snippet). You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
Just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues.
We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.
If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.
I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have unfortunately.
Best regards,
Geoff B.

MemberGood afternoon Heinz,
I am glad you are making progress on this project!
Is it possible to get a demo version of event tickets plus, which works for e.g. two weeks on a staging server just to be able to create a working demo site for the customer (layout does not matter, it’s about the functionality)? Or is there already a demo site showing these features?
That is a very good question.
We do not offer demo or trial versions, but we do have a 30 day refund policy (which I guess is pretty close). We do have a demo of the functionalities: http://wpshindig.com/event/events-tickets-demo/
Concerning trainers: is it possible to display a picture of the trainer within the course (e.g. using a widget in sidebar)? Maybe by setting the name or id of the trainer as a <body> css class, to be able to do this with CSS? Or by using a post thumbnail/featured image, which can then be display along with the name of the organizer/trainer (by using a custom template)?
The short answer is yes, this is possible
You could achieve that in one of 2 ways:
- Using the second function and action found in the following snippet: https://gist.github.com/andrasguseo/3396c6dba948d789e2937857beff7b47 . You could apply the snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top)
- As you suggested, you could simply do a custom view template. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood afternoon Natasha,
I am glad you got things working to your liking, regardless of what the cause of your success is 🙂
As far as you other question is concerned, I will ask our coding Ninjas.
But, in the meantime, you could totally cheat with CSS.
Try adding the following CSS rule to your style.css file or in your Custom CSS metabox:
#tribe-community-events .recurrence-row {display: none !important}Let me know how that goes.

MemberGood evening Rene and thank you for writing back,
I am really surprised, that the translation management plugin has had influence on one of the issues.
Actually, it is key to everything working properly (as you can tell).
B. Point 1 with the categories is still open
This is most likely due to “Translate the theme and plugins using WPML’s string translation and load .mo files as backup” under “Theme and plugin localization”.
What is going on is that there is a competition at play for where the translation of the URL is going to come from.
You might have to “force this one” a tad.
Things to do:
- Try switching to Translate the theme and plugins using WPML’s string translation only (do not load .mo files)
- Head over to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting page.
Once you are there, you should see several cleanup buttons. I would recommend:
a) Clearing WPML cache
b) Using ALL the cleanup buttons on that page
c) Re-saving your permalinks - Look at all of your language files for our plugins and make sure they are either up to date or removed from the /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder (if any)
- Force the slugs using a wpml-config.xml file as discussed here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/disable-wpml-translation-for-tribe_events-2/. You can read about it here: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/
As for the other display issue, I believe doing the procedure above will certainly help.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Ann,
Thank you for your patience.
As promised, I asked for a second pair of eyes on this and I am glad I did.
Based on my understanding, what you are trying to do is to preserve a similar look between normal events and featured events.
The good news is that you can do just that with a simple view override.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works. For our purpose, please create a /tribe-events/ folder inside your WordPress theme (preferably a child theme).
Once that is done create another folder inside that folder called /list/.
The end result should be something like /wp-content/themes/your-theme/tribe-events/list/Once that is done, drop one of the following file in that folder (after unzipping it): single-featured
Have a good weekend,

MemberGood evening Bernardo and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions. We would like to give users the option of buying either a single event or buying a ticket for multiple events with discounted price. Bundled purchases should affect single event’s stocks.
For that purpose, you will need:
- Event Tickets https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets/
- Event Tickets Plus https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/
- WooCommerce
- A WooCommerce volume based discount plugin
This works because we literally hand over all of the transactional aspect of things to WooCommerce.
There are quite a few WooCommerce plugins out there that should allow you to achieve your goal. Here is an example: https://wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce-bulk-discount/
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!
