Good evening Trevor and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

So the client needs a customized solution where they can create and edit event pages, and accept payment by credit card or purchase order, and probably have a “mail a check” option as well.

It sound like your client might be better off with a Event Tickets Plus + WooCommerce combination: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/

This works because the Events Calendar and Event Tickets Plus take care of the creation and edition of event pages (and their associated tickets) while we hand over all of the transactional aspect of the purchases to WooCommerce.

WooCommerce lets you choose the available payment gateways (cheque, P.O., credit card, etc…). You might need to get a few extensions for WooCommerce for that purpose.

so the system would need to be able to collect registration info for multiple registrants at a time.

This can also be handled with Event Tickets Plus: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/collecting-attendee-information/

So to answer your question, Eventbrite Tickets will not meet your client’s requirements, but Event Tickets Plus will.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Terry and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

If I am not mistaking, you are trying to use the “Import from URL” feature. Can you confirm ?

If so, could you provide me with a couple of examples of URLs you are trying to import from ?

Can you confirm that the Events Calendar is at the latest version on all of the installs (including the one you are importing from) ?

    Hang in there!

    Good evening Sophie,

At my colleague Caroline’s request, I will chime in to make sure you get a timely answer to your questions (as Cliff is out of the office).

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Adding an event as a community manager, seems to take away the option of adding woo commerce products. I don’t want the events to show up in the all products page on my woo site, but I want the option to sell merchandise (that’s in the woo commerce area of my site) along with the ticket.

Without seeing your system information, my best guess is that the “Community Manager” role does not have the proper capabilities (permission) to add WooCommerce products.

You could easily fix that with a plugin such as Members as discussed here https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/admin-roles-and-permissions/

Could you also tell me what process you use for adding WooCommerce products in events typically ?

The community managers also need to collect additional information from their clients because it’s health events. Is there a way to set this? I can do it from the Dashboard but not as a community manager through the add events option.

Yes, this can be tackled via additional attendee information: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/collecting-attendee-information/

I also can’t seem to set the search function by postcode radius (bringing up nearest events within a timeframe). I want people to find events in a three month timeframe not one month.

I am not exactly sure in which context, but I am guessing you are referring to a customization.

I would recommend reading the following: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/custom-event-queries/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

With that in mind, even if a user does not register for your site, he typically needs to fill out the customer info. In turn, that really creates a “customer” WordPress user.

So in short, the emails should still go.

You can have the system send tickets from any chosen email address by simply installing, configuring and testing the following plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/

Using a real SMTP server with authentication will bypass the built-in WP mail functionality altogether.

Please make sure you configure and test the settings using the plugin’s built-in tool.

This usually solves issues with emails not being sent.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

Good evening Karen and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

When it comes to color customization, our free and Pro versions offer the exact same features.

In order to gain full power on your site’s look and feel, I would highly recommend reading the following articles:

With that in mind, I believe you will love the following third-party plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar-category-colors/

Good evening Dennis and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

There are 3 ways you can achieve this:

    1. By using a view customization on the list widget. You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.
    2. By using a snippet, not unlike the one discussed here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/remove-end-time-for-events/
    3. Try adding the following CSS rule to your style.css file or in your Custom CSS metabox:

    .tribe-events-adv-list-widget .tribe-event-time {display: none !important;}

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    That snippet should still work.
Did you could apply the snippet without the PHP tag at the top ?

In the meantime, there is something else worth trying is to use an SMTP plugin such as: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/

Using a real SMTP server with authentication will bypass the built-in WP mail functionality altogether.

Please make sure you configure and test the settings using the plugin’s built-in tool.

Good evening Joachim and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about things not working as expected on your site.
I would love to help you with this topic.

The first thing I would recommend, if you have not already done so, is going through the following guide step-by-step: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-event-tickets/

Once that is done, as a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

If the ticket is not showing on the page, that sometimes can be caused by the use of a start sale date.

The tickets will not display until that start sale date is met. This is normal behavior.

Would you mind sharing a screenshot of your “Edit Ticket” screen ?

    Hang in there!

Good evening Matt and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the backed display being a bit wonky.
I would love to help you with this topic.

After a database backup, the first thing I would recommend is making sure that Event Tickets Plus, Community Events and the Events Calendar Pro are updated to their latest version.

It appears that they are dragging a few versions behind on that specific install.

If you are not seeing the updates, try heading over to [yoursite]/wp-admin/update-core.php

Let me know how that goes.

Actually, you can totally contribute officially to the Greek translation of our plugins.
In fact, we like to reward our contributors with free licenses as a token of our appreciation.

You might want to read this:

Ultimately, all official translation contributions are done here: http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects

We then integrate changes made here in our plugins each time we release an update or a new version.

The problem is that every time i update the plugin those changes are being overridden again and again.

There is actually a workaround for this: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/how-to-override-plugin-language-files/

Let me know if that helps.

As per your suggestion, I went ahead and looked at your site.
It looks like you were able to fix everything. Kudos!

Can you confirm that this is the case on your end ?

    Good afternoon Scott,

Thank you for taking the time to write back.
I guess everybody is eager to have that functionality happening.

I will relay your thoughts on this one with our product team since I believe it is aboslutely worth sharing.

Frustrating is an understatement. Tomorrow i have to tell the client I still can’t do what they want so it might not be happening without a dev coding it.

I can totally appreciate how frustrating that must be.

With that in mind, there might be a second option.

You could always see if hiring one of our recommended customizers to customize our plugins for you could work.

    Best of luck!

    Good afternoon Brett,

    Thank you for writing back.

I want everyone who accesses our site to see the courses and description, but only members to be able to actually book… Is this a possibility?

    Yes absolutely.

You can simply use the Require users to log in before they purchase tickets option from Events -> Settings -> Tickets (available upon the purchase of Event Tickets Plus).

While I’m here, is there a function where I can search for events outside of the actual ‘events’ page?

    The answer is yes.

What you want to do is to extend basic WordPress search functionality to include custom post types such as events (tribe-events to be more precise).

This can be achieved via a plugin (e.g.: https://wordpress.org/plugins/eps-super-search/) or via the functions.php file of your WordPress theme(  https://premium.wpmudev.org/forums/topic/wordpress-search-doesnt-search-custom-post-types )

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.
