    Good evening Marcus,

I am glad we are making some progress!

    2. This doesnt work. The translation wont show up for some reason. What could I be doing wrong? All my other translations are showing up correctly.

When translation file strings are not kicking in, it is usually caused by one of the following things:

    1. Your translation files are not up to date
    2. You are using some customized translation files that have been placed in the /wp-content/languages/ or /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder. These might not be updated and will override any other file.
    3. The strings are translated, but are considered “fuzzy”

In the first 2 cases, the solution is to update your translation files using the pot file. You can do this by using the Poedit software and heading to Catalog > Update from pot file.

In the last case, you will need to make them “unfuzzy” using Poedit.

    3. My language file doesnt have this line in it for some reason. I have shared my language files as a zipped attachment to this post if you need to have a look at them.

I believe this is because they are not up to date (the update from pot suggestion from above).

Here is a copy of the updated file (watch out for fuzzy translations): sv_updated

    Good evening Alexander,

    Thank you for writing back.

The PHP tag I was referring to can be seen here (and in most PHP-based snippets): https://gist.github.com/andrasguseo/29903a974cb84060957881c17613c278

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Cara and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the struggles you have experienced while setting up the Events Calendar Pro and managing recurring events. I would love to help you with this topic.

First off, major kudos on accomplish so much on your own!

It turns out that Event Calendar Pro was disabled. Now I have the 404 error when an event is viewed.

    This is usually solved by:

    1. Going to Events -> Settings -> General and hitting “Save”
    2. Re-saving your permalinks
    3. Flushing your cache (Siteground’s in your case)

You can’t edit this item because it is in the Trash. Please restore it and try again.

This does look like what the message suggests. Your events were somehow deleted (by accident or perhaps by the rules for recurring events found under Events -> Settings -> General

I managed to get the events to cooperate by restoring all events & then editing series. I suppose deleting a series event messes up the book keeping or perhaps using the non=Pro version was the culprit.

You make a great point. Manually deleting some events from a series or not trashing the Master recurring event might create several types of issues.

Depending on what you are looking to do, there are a couple of options available:

    1. Add exceptions to your recurring rules for the days you no longer want to see appearing
    2. Break the undesired event from the series and delete it.

In any case, I am mostly glad you were able to get things working for you.

Still had issues creating a series since it insisted on making the event daily even though I selected weekly. Not a big issue since I only need 4 events but annoying.

That is quite odd. Perhaps there is some type of conflict at play here ?
Try temporarily reverting back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if that issue persists.

My latest issue is Google Maps. Do I need to include a referrer to your site? Currently I have the site listed as *.bawdc.org/* and it works on contact page but not the calendar pages like this.

This will depend entirely on your web hosting setup. But the short answer seems to be yes.

Google is more demanding than ever now when it comes to Google Maps API requirement.
I recommend you follow this guide precisely: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-your-google-maps-api-key/

    Best regards,

    Good evening Ben,

I am glad you are getting closer to the goal.

Thank you for clarifying that you want to add the phone number to the email sent from the Attendees screen.

Yes, there is actually a ticket open to extend that extension to do exactly this. Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point.

But stay tuned, you will be contacted when the update is released.

You might want to try the following snippet for the CSV report: https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/25e98c2dddac3d67a02d2e8e4c8da813

If you cannot wait, you could also try to undertake the customization yourself: https://theeventscalendar.com/customizations/

If coding is not really your cup of tea, you could always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have unfortunately.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening James,

This is a simple courtesy follow-up to let you know that according to all of our tests, the most recent version of the Events Calendar products (including Event Tickets Plus) are now playing nicely alongside WooCommerce memberships as far as discount handling is concerned.

    Best regards,

Good evening Danielle and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the troubles you are experiencing while trying to update the Events Calendar Pro. I would love to help you with this topic.

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

Secondly, there are a couple of things worth doing to try to get the update installed:

    1. Try using the following link to update your plugin http://yoursitename.com/wp-admin/update-core.php
    2. Deactivate and delete the Events Calendar Pro plugin (this is a safe operation, but we still recommend a database backup before)
    3. Download the latest version of that plugin here: https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/
    4. Install that newly downloaded version https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/downloading-and-installing-the-plugin/
    5. Activate the Events Calendar Pro

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Good evening Cindee and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the calendar showing blank on your site.
I would love to help you with this topic.

From your email and your site, it looks like you were able to fix this by playing around with the Events Template setting from Events -> Settings -> Display.

Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.

    Best regards,

Good evening Basil and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the subpar experience you had with Events Aggregator. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

First off, I just went ahead and processed your refund. It will take a couple of days to show up on your account.

Would you mind telling us if you used the “Import from other URL functionality” ? That would help us investigate and improve our products.

With that in mind, there are a couple of things I believe might be helpful to you in the future.

    1. We highly recommend backing up your database before any large-scale operation. That way you can easily revert back to the previous stage if anything goes wrong.
    2. Most of our users promoting from staging to production use one of the following methods (which do not require Events Aggregator):
      1. WordPress’ built-in import / export tool (selecting only events)
      2. WP All import plugin
      3. A combination of a DB import plugin and manually uploading any images in the /wp-content/uploads/ folder

Good evening Luke and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the translation files not working to your liking.
I would love to help you with this topic.

    1. Your translation files are not up to date
    2. You are using some customized translation files that have been placed in the /wp-content/languages/ or /wp-content/languages/plugins/ folder. These might not be updated and will override any other file.

In the last case, you will need to make them “unfuzzy” using Poedit.

For the record, this can be the case even with freshly downloaded language files sometimes.

Another approach would be to use a code snippet.

You could apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/0e6fe4cf5fb894f034caa9bd7887b6bf

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Shane and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

Try adding the following CSS rule to your style.css file or in your Custom CSS metabox:

    .tribe-events-tooltip.tribe-event-featured .tribe-events-event-thumb, .tribe-events-tooltip .tribe-events-event-thumb img {
    width: 100%;
    }

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Julian and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

It turns out that the “Duplicate events” option is not built-in to our plugins.

This is because most custom post type duplication plugins out there will work great for that purpose.

There is even one especially for the Events Calendar out there: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!
