MemberHey Chris, no worries at all — these are excellent questions. 🙂
In relation to point 3, can I have two separate logins for businesses and customers so that customers can only register for tickets and not post events.
I’m afraid that WordPress will only allow you to have one login for the site. So, in other words, businesses and customers would both log into the site using the same login form, but you can assign them to different user roles, which allows them to have different levels of permissions once they are logged in.
So, for example, Community Events can require that someone be logged in to submit an event to The Events Calendar. You can set the level of permissions to those able to submit events to those assigned to a specific user role.
The unfortuante thing is that our Event Tickets plugin does not allow you to require someone to be logged in to reserve a ticket for an event. However, you could customize the template for the ticket form by creating overriding the template in your theme, and customizing it by wrapping it in the WordPress function that checks whether someone is logged in before displaying it. That’s a little customization that you would need to do, but totally possible to accomplish.
Does this help answer your question?

MemberHi Adrian and thanks for following up.
Does the cut back version only offer 6 months ahead for importing? Thanks for your assistance is resolving this as i say if the free version allows only 6 month import does a paid version offer more?
Events Calendar PRO does not import or export more events via iCal than The Events Calendar. The functionality is the same for both plugins.
Cheers!

MemberOh weird, that is no good! We use a third-party service called UserVoice for feature requests, so I will be sure to follow up there and see what is happening.
In the meantime, did you have any other questions about recurring event support for tickets? Let me know!
Thanks for the heads up!

MemberThanks so much for the system info, @julie!
Events should be ordered by start date on the calendar. The fact that they’re sorted by post date on your site makes me think there is a conflict somewhere causing the events to be out of order from what The Events Calendar does by default.
I do see you have a few third-party plugins that customize the calendar’s settings, like Event Rocket, The Events Calendar Shortcode, and The Events Calendar User CSS.
Just to confirm, you do want the events ordered by start date (the default behavior) instead of post date, correct?
If so, would you be willing to follow the steps outlined in this guide as a starting point? This will walk through the steps to get your site in a default WordPress environment with only the plugins by Modern Tribe active, which is essentially the same setup my test site uses. We can use that as a baseline for comparison and then see where there might be a conflict with either the theme or another installed plugin.
Let’s start there and see what we find. 🙂
Thanks!

MemberHey Chris, thanks for following up! These are great questions, so let’s tackle them one a ta time.
1. I read that the plugins do not support multiple calendars, would that mean organisers could not display their own calendar on their page?
The calendar does not support multiple calendars. However, each organizer page will display a list of upcoming events specifically for that organizer.
Further, the Advanced List widget that’s included in Events Calendar PRO allows you to embed the widget in any page or post and filter the calendar to display specific events, like by a specific organizer.
2. Will organiser and venue details be saved for future events, so that the organiser doesn’t have to fill out these fields each time?
Yes, each time an organizer or venue is created, they will be stored and available to select for future events.
3. Could I approve trusted businesses before they begin posting events? Approving every event seems too much but at the same time I don’t want to allow anybody to post an event.
Yes, you can register the business as Users in WordPress, assign them to a user role and then configure the Community Events settings to allow submissions only from logged in users and for those submissions to go straight to Published status.
4. Can customers sign up more than one person (like family members) to the same event in one go?
Yes, absolutely. A customer can register as many other people for an event as there are tickets available for the event.
Does this help clarify things a bit? Let me know!

MemberHi Hassan,
Great question! While I haven’t personally tested our plugins with The Newsletter plugin, you can certainly try using The Newsletter with The Events Calendar before purchasing Events Calendar PRO. The Events Calendar is a free plugin and provides the baseline functionality of all our other plugins, including Events Calendar PRO, so testing it first will give you a good idea if the calendar is compatible with The Newsletter.
Give that a shot and definitely let me know if any other questions come up from there and I’d be happy to help as best I can. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi Alexander,
Great question! You can actually make that change in WordPress itself but navigating to Settings > General from the WordPress dashboard (screenshot).
The setting you choose there will be reflected in the calendar as well.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHey there!
Community Events can limit even submissions to logged in members of a specific role but is unable to restrict access to specific users. If you were to create a custom role for those users and assign them to it, then you should be able to limit event submissions to that role — here’s a screenshot of the settings in the plugin to make that happen.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHi David!
Yes, Community Events will allow you to add the functionality for visitors submitting events to your calendar and to moderate those submissions.
I do want to note that you will need to update both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO in order to make it happen. I see both are running version 3.10 at the moment and the latest versions are 4.2.7 and 4.2.6, respectively. The jump between 3.10 and 4.0 is pretty significant and introduces breaking changes, so I would definitely advise testing everything in a safe development environment in advance to make sure everything is in working order.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.

MemberHey Chris,
Great questions!
The Events Calendar and Community Events (used together) will definitely give you the ability to display a calendar of events that others can submit their events to.
Event Calendar PRO has a feature that automatically creates pages for Organizers and Venues. If a business were to submit an event, list themselves as the Organizer for the event, then Events Calendar PRO would add that event to a page automatically created for that business, including information on the business. Here is more information on how the Organizer and Venue pages in Events Calendar PRO work:
That will take care of event submissions, but you’ll want to add our other free plugin, Event Tickets, if you want those businesses to be able to create free tickets for the events.
Also, I see there is an option to approve events before being published but instead could I approve new businesses at a ‘registration stage’ so that once checked out, they are free to publish events on their own?
Absolutely. You can set the status of an event submission to go straight to Published instead of needing to be moderated in advance.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHello Adrian — thanks for getting in touch!
Good question. Our plugins are only able to show one month at a time. We are actually hoping to make an Annual View in a future release, though I don’t have any timeframe for when that would be released. In the meantime, Month View is as close as it gets.
One possible workaround is to use the Mini Calendar shortcode that comes in Events Calendar PRO and embed the widget in a page or post as many times as you need it. The shortcode accepts additional filters that could make each widget display different events.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.

MemberHi Julie, and thanks for reaching out!
I see exactly what you mean — the events on the Month View of the calendar seem to be out of order and in some cases, in reverse order.
Would you be willing to head to Events > Settings > Help, copy the system information at the bottom of the screen and paste it here as a private reply? That will help me check your settings and configurations before we dive too deep into troubleshooting. For what it’s worth, I tested the order of events on my test site and the dates are ordered by start time as we’d expect. Hopefully checking your system information will lead to some insights about what’s going on.
Thanks!

MemberHi Nancy,
Awesome! We actually have a list of folks who might be able to help:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/find-a-customizer/
Any one of the people listed there would be happy to provide a quote for the customization.

MemberThanks so much for following up, Alicia! I’m happy to hear that the issue should be fixed in the next release of Avada, though I’m sorry about needing to wait for it. It might be possible to workaround the issue by downgrading our plugins to older versions that are more compatible with your version of Avada, but I would only do that with the support and guidance of the Theme Fusion team to ensure it’s a good option and done correctly.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread but absolutely open a new one if anything else regarding this or something else comes up and we’d be happy to help.
Thanks so much!

MemberHey, thanks for following up!
I do see that theres’s an open feature request to add a datepicker to the Filter Bar, but I know it’s not on the radar as far as planning or development goes at the moment. There is a pretty helpful comment in the request, but I think it would be awesome if you could also add your vote and voice to the mix — especially if you have ideas of how that might look — so it gets documented and counted.
Cheers,
