MemberHey there Steve,
Thanks for getting in touch! Sorry you’re running into an issue with installation, but let’s see if we can solve it together.
Do you FTP access to your site? If so, would you be able to upload the zipped PRO plugin file to your /wp-content/plugins directory and unzip it there? I have a feeling that the plugin exceeds your host’s memory limit and uploading the plugin manually is a way around that.
Once the plugin is uploaded and unzipped, head over to the Plugins > Installed Plugins screen, refresh, and see if the plugin is listed. Then let me know if that works and we’ll take it from there.
Cheers!

MemberAwesome, so glad that worked! Thanks again for getting in touch. I’ll close this thread, but feel free to open a new one if your run into any other issues. Cheers!
Geoff
MemberThanks for the additional info! This is definitely helpful.
I was able to create the event successfully using the same information you sent over, and everything works as expected. I went ahead and took a screenshot of my settings for you to compare with yours to make sure they match up: http://cl.ly/XORR
I suspect the main difference is the Start and Stop times for the event. If you look at my settings, you’ll see that the event begins and ends on the same day (20014-09-02). I’m guessing your Start is the same as mine, but the end date is set for 2014-10-15 instead. That would explain why the event shows up daily rather on specific days.
Please take a moment to check the settings for your event and confirm that the issue is still cropping up.
Cheers!

MemberHi Edgar,
Thanks for getting in touch! This is a good summary of some other topics you’ve brought up recently and you bring up some great new ideas for features as well.
Through the Eventbrite extension, however, it is rather easy to copy an event in Eventbrite
Awesome! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the Eventbrite add on. Thanks for sharing your good experience with us.
Another thing that is missing from the Events Calendar is a simple RSVP system.
That’s an interesting idea! Yes, setting the price to zero is generally the same thing, but you’re right that there’s a difference between tickets and RSVPs. Eventbrite and our Eventbrite add on are both ticketing solutions, but it would be neat to look into something geared to RSVPs. If you haven’t already, please add your vote for this feature on our UserVoice page. We check this place regularly for features to add into future releases.
Can the Eventbrite event picture also immediately be copied to the Events Calendar?
That’s a good question and the answer is not currently. This would be another great thread to add to our UserVoice page.
The Eventbrite ticket box on the WP-site is not adapting to the number of types of tickets available. The register button often disappears as well.
I’d like to look into this issue a little more. Would it be possible for you to try testing for conflicts to see if the cause is with the plugin, the theme or another plugin? If the issue persists, please open a new thread detailing the issue a little more, including a link to an example and steps for how to reproduce it, and we’ll take a look.
Just like the normal Events Calender Wootickets box, would it be possible to choose where this box is put? Now it’s only at the bottom of the page.
All our plugins allow quite a bit of customization. If you haven’t checked out our Themer’s Guide, I’d suggest starting there for step-by-step instructions on how to create your own custom layouts. You can find the specific the hooks and classes for the Eventbrite plugin in our Eventbrite documentation as well.
Does this answer your questions? Please let me know if I can be of further help.
Cheers!

MemberHi Phil,
Good question and thanks for getting in touch!
By default, the calendar will display events from all categories, but there are a couple of ways you can separate the categories out a little more.
- Link to a specific category. Each event category has a unique URL (e.g. [your-site]/events/category/category-name/month) and you can send visitors directly to the month view for a specific category.
- Use the Filter Bar plugin. This plugin will still show all events in the same calendar by default, but allows the visitor to easily filter the calendar to show events from a specific category.
Does that make sense? Will that work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHi troywoodland,
Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re running into a little trouble, but hopefully I can help you out.
I see the Event Calendar on your site–great job setting it up! Are you able to provide me a link to an event on the calendar that provides an example of the issue? That will help me know where to start looking.
I have a hunch that this event is one of the ones you are referring to. If it is, it looks like it was set up as a multi-day event (September 2-October 15) instead of a recurring event. I’d be interested to know the steps you took to publish this one, but go ahead and confirm if this event is a good example of the issue and we’ll take it from there.
Cheers!

MemberThanks, Bob! That sounds like a solid idea and I hope it solves the multiple notification issue the other plugin couldn’t.
I’m going to go ahead and close this thread, but please feel free to hit us up with a new thread if there’s anything else we can help with.
Have a great day!

MemberHey Bob, thanks for getting in touch!
Oh man, sorry to hear that–I can imagine there were some pretty unhappy people waking up to a full inbox.
I’ve seen the Subscribe2 plugin but haven’t worked with it in depth. Does it offer a setting that saves an email as a draft before it is sent? That would allow you to review emails in advance and delete any that are unnecessary. Another idea might be excluding certain event categories from sending notifications, if the plugin offers those settings as well.
Unfortunately, Events are a type of post and I’m betting that the notification plugin you’re working with treats all posts equally, regardless if they’re set as a recurring event or not. That might be something to suggest to the plugin author, or keeping an eye out for a plugin that offers some more controls.
I hope this helps. Please don’t hesitate to let me know if I can be of further help.
Cheers!

MemberHi hunterbrownrobertson,
Thanks for getting in touch! You’re absolutely right that it’s default wording. The good news is that the text can be customized using theme overrides. If you’re not already familiar with how to use theme overrides, check out our primer for step-by-step instructions. There are even a few examples in there using the Community add on. 🙂
Speaking of the Community add on, I’m moving this thread to that section so it’s easier to find for future reference. The URL will be the same, but now it will be filed there as well.
Does this answer your question? Let me know if I can be of further help.
Cheers!

MemberHi kdeganhart,
Thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear you’re running into trouble. Let’s try to sort this one out together.
Are you able to go to your site’s Settings > Permalinks page? If so, please confirm those settings are correct and hit Update. That will sometimes help flush conflicting rewrite rules and solve something like this.
Let me know once you’ve done that and if everything is working as expected.
Cheers!
