ParticipantHello. I am having a issue with the posting of recurring events. When posted, the event simply posts every day between the dates specified, rather than posting, say, every monday, thursday and friday of every week between the start and finish dates. I have tried the normal switching to default themes and deactivating plugins. The only thing that I have done currently is upgrade to the latest WordPress and the latest Event Calendar plugins. Any thoughts?

ParticipantTo add to this, some of the time when adding a new post with a recurring time, it adds multiple copies of the event to a single day. Some days will have 8 instances of the same event, even though the post was only added once.

MemberHi troywoodland,
Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re running into a little trouble, but hopefully I can help you out.
I see the Event Calendar on your site–great job setting it up! Are you able to provide me a link to an event on the calendar that provides an example of the issue? That will help me know where to start looking.
I have a hunch that this event is one of the ones you are referring to. If it is, it looks like it was set up as a multi-day event (September 2-October 15) instead of a recurring event. I’d be interested to know the steps you took to publish this one, but go ahead and confirm if this event is a good example of the issue and we’ll take it from there.
Cheers!

ParticipantYup, that is the event in question. How I have it set is:
Recurrence: Custom – and will end on October 15, 2014
Frequency: Weekly every 1 week on: Sun, Tue, Wed, ThuIt is just posting every day from the post date to the end date. I have also added an event ‘Testing – Please Ignore’ (live now) doing the same method above, and you can see how it repeats. Really odd. Cheers.

MemberThanks for the additional info! This is definitely helpful.
I was able to create the event successfully using the same information you sent over, and everything works as expected. I went ahead and took a screenshot of my settings for you to compare with yours to make sure they match up: http://cl.ly/XORR
I suspect the main difference is the Start and Stop times for the event. If you look at my settings, you’ll see that the event begins and ends on the same day (20014-09-02). I’m guessing your Start is the same as mine, but the end date is set for 2014-10-15 instead. That would explain why the event shows up daily rather on specific days.
Please take a moment to check the settings for your event and confirm that the issue is still cropping up.
Cheers!

ParticipantLets chalk this one up to user error. The solution worked great!
