• Hi Hannes,

After reviewing your request this essentially looks like a custom development task and so is outside of our stated scope of support.

With that being said, we’d love to help point you in the right direction.

I’d recommend starting off by taking a look at our Themer’s Guide, which can show you which templates can be edited and copied in order to attempt the results that you are looking for.

If you’d prefer not to tackle this customization on your own, we may be able to assist you further. We do need to prioritize support requests from other customers at this time but I’ll certainly flag this with the team and – although we can’t make any promises – if we have time and space to come back and help, we’ll be happy to do so. Please let us know if you’d like to go this route so that you can be added to this queue.

In the meantime, if there is any more information you can share (including mocks) that will help us to better understand what you are seeking please do feel free to add them to this ticket.

If you urgently need help with this, however, you may instead wish to consider working with a suitably skilled developer or designer who can offer the additional level of support you require.

Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Suzanne,

I’m glad to hear that Meetup is working again for you.

The Facebook page only has one event, that has now passed, so I cannot test that page at this time. I’d also recommend trying to mark the event as Going or Interested, as other users have had more success with imports that way, although I cannot make any guarantees.

As far as that other URL goes, I tried importing via the Other URL import source, but it doesn’t appear to be working. Are you seeing the same results?

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Diego,

Thanks for providing me with that information.

As a next step, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    • A conflict with another plugin
    • A conflict with your WordPress theme
    • A template customization for the Events Calendar that requires updating

When it comes to that type of issue, it is preferable to troubleshoot in a staging environment if you have one.

A first quick test is to simply temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-sixteen to see if the issue persists.

The next step would be to go through our testing for conflicts procedure and let us know what you find out.

Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

But, before you do that, there are 2 things I would advise:

    • Make a backup of your database
    • Consider activating a “Maintenance Page” plugin if you are doing this on your live site (to minimize impact on your visitors)

Let me know how that goes!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Abigail,

Thanks for providing me with that information.

Unfortunately, I’m not able to replicate this issue on my end.

In that case, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.

    Hi Cameron,

I’m glad to hear that you have found a workaround for now.

As far as timezones go, your options are as follows:

    • Change the timezone in your iCal feed before events have been imported
    • Change your global WordPress timezone settings under Settings < General
    • Change the way timezones appear on your site using the timezone settings under Events Settings < General < Timezone settings

As far as your orphaned venues and organizers, you can Merge Duplicates under Events Settings, so that duplicate venues and organizers should be merged.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

Thanks so much for reaching out!

As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?

    Hi Stephanie,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Can you provide me with the URL that you are trying to import, so that I can do some testing on my end?

Also, can you enable and check the Event Log under Events < Help to see if you see anything unusual?

Right under that is your Event Aggregator Status. Can you take a screenshot of what you see there?

Can you please also enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG and share any debug messages you see?

Let me know if you have any other questions in the meantime!

    Thanks,

    Jaime

    Hi Suzanne,

Thanks for getting that information to me.

Unfortunately, at this time, Facebook Group imports are not currently working, even if they are your own. What does work is Facebook Pages where you are the owner. This issue predates the Facebook Privacy Policy changes and we were aware of it previously.

As far as your Meetup import goes, it should work as expected. I tried importing the URL that you provided and it worked for me without issue.

In that case, let’s try to rule out if there is some type of conflict at play.
    This is usually because of:

    Hi Emily,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

You can try changing the setting When this post is updated, how do you want the featured image to be handled? on your Edit Event page to Never synchronize the images and Update.

Let me know if that helps!

    Thanks,

Can you also take a screenshot of what that event looks like on the backend for me, so that I can try to replicate things on my end?

Let me know if anything else comes up in the meantime!

    Hi Abigail,

Thanks so much for reaching out!

Would you mind sending me a screenshot of how that event is configured on the backend, so that I can try to replicate on my end as well?

Let me know if anything else comes up in the meantime!
