    Hey fons,

By default the slug will NOT change into a different language. If you are using a plugin like WPML, this may be happening, but we do NOT support WPML completely and do not support multilingual slugs at this time.

Hi got different results , but not the right ones

Hi Steve, can you clarify the specific “different results” you got? And what made them “not the right ones”?

    Thank you!

I’m sorry to disappoint on a number of fronts, @Oystein. Your feedback means a lot, and is much appreciated, and we would also love to refund any licenses we can here—I know this doesn’t magically make our plugins work as you hope for, which is the ideal, but it’s a step towards making things right, at least.

Do you agree? And do you want a refund? If so, use the steps here and we’d be happy to refund your purchases → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/refund-policy/

I’m sorry for the trouble, @Oystein.

    Sincerely,
    George

Hey Henrik, and everyone in fact,

If you activate a default theme like Twenty Sixteen, and then deactivate ALL plugins on your site except for only The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro, do you have any progress with your issues?

If you don’t at first, what if you leave your site in this state and then head to Settings → Permalinks in your wp-admin, and just click “Save Changes” without making any changes? Though it seems odd, this little “trick” might help refresh the site’s permalinks and make a difference when your site is in the above-described state.

⚠️ To anyone who has the issues described in this thread: since we have still not isolated a bug here, and I cannot recreate the problem, if you have the issues @Roberta and others describe, please try the steps I just recommended to Henrik above and let me know if they make a difference with your issues in any way.

Thank you all so much for your patience and persistence here—like I noted, I’m still not recreating these issues and we don’t have a specific bug report for something like this yet, so some further investigation is unfortunately still necessary here. 🙁

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hey AJ,

I actually notice some behavior on your site that I am NOT able to recreate on my own site—i.e., issues other than the specific set of bugs we’ve identified and are working on.

To help keep things organized, would you mind opening a new thread on these forums with your site’s System Information (https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/) and a brief summation of the issues? You don’t need to write a lot, at all—and you can in fact just share a link back to this thread for some context on the issues.

We’ll tend to your thread as soon as possible and take a closer look at your specific issues.

    Thank you!

    Thanks Kenneth,

I can see from this information that you have not been able to get Events Calendar Pro installed at all. Can you describe specifically what happens when you try updating to Events Calendar Pro 4.1 on your site? If PHP errors display on your site when you try doing this, copy and paste those errors in their entirety and share them here.

    Thank you!

Thanks for sharing this, Douglas. We admittedly have lots of room for improvement when it comes to managing thousands of attendees. For the time being, the QR Codes can be scanned to check-in folks with any sort of QR-Scanning app, so I hope you find a scanning app or system that works well for your needs.

I’m sorry that I don’t have much more specific recommendations or such here—is there anything else I can try to help with? Let me know!

    Hey Jamie,

Thanks for the follow-up here. There are a few things you can do, though unfortunately the setting-up of your site as HTTP or HTTPS does not come from our plugins in any way—so it’s something that happens on the level of your webhost and Domain Name registrar. I’m not mentioning this to shrug off responsibility on this issue! 🙂 I just want to be clear that there are certain things that only your domain registrar can help with, for example….

Before getting to all of that, first head to Settings → General in your site’s wp-admin. Do the URLs for “Home URL” and “Site URL” etc. have http in them, or https? Are they consistent with each other, as well?

If they’re not consistent, fix both settings that both use the same protocol.

From there, I would recommend sharing your System Information again with us → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

I will look at that to see if there is anything else we can help with!

Unfortunately, however, as I noted in the last thread this is an issue called “Cross-Origin Request Blocking”. This is well-known and established issue with domain names and permissions and such, so there are many resources out there about its cause and how to fix it → https://goo.gl/3RvMJt

There is no way to fix this from our plugin, however, and our plugin does not cause this. No plugin itself does—it’s a problem on the level of the server and/or your domain name and SSL certificate. I’m sorry if you feel caught between different support teams! That is not my intent here—I’m just trying to set your expectations about how much we, as plugin developers, can do regarding an issue on the level of domain name/server settings/SSL certificates. 🙁

Let me know if you check out the options I mentioned above, if you change them at all, and if you can share your current System Information. I’ll take a look at all of these things and we can proceed from there.

    Thank you!

    Hey Rob,

Thank you for sharing all of this!

I cannot recreate this problem, and you’re up-to-date with all Tribe plugins, so to the best of my knowledge I think the main issue here is your domain name.

    Your domain name is this:

    http://vermonttoday.com.php56-1.ord1-1.websitetestlink.com

That’s quite an odd/non-normative domain name, and it seems like our code is simply having trouble reading that to figure out where the “.com” is so that it can properly append the events slug. There are two “.coms”, five subdomains, two dashses—it’s just a very complicated and non-standard URL, so I unfortunately don’t think there is any way to get proper functionality here until you’re on simple and straightforward domain name, like http://vermonttoday.com or something.

I’m sorry to bear this news; let me know what you think and if there are any other questions I can help out with in the meantime!

    Thank you,
    George

    Hey Dario,

I’m sorry to disappoint in regards to Event Tickets and WPML—what I mean is that there is no special support for WPML, and so it is likely to break on your site and hinder tickets functionality and/or WPML functionality. It will not work.

To this thread: I installed Easy Digital Downloads and now it is possible to add tickets using this. But still it’s not possible to use it using WooCommerce.

Do you mean it’s still not possible just using WooCommerce on its own? Or do you mean that when you go to create tickets, you have three options: RSVP, EDD, and WooCommerce, and only RSVP and EDD work?

    Thank you,
    George

Thanks for your feedback here, @Christopher. You’re right about two things for sure:

    • Many people want this sort of functionality.

    • We have a lot of room to improve on this front!

I agree that this process is currently too tedious, and I’m sorry that our plugins aren’t quite optimized in the specific areas that would be the most helpful here.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can try to help with! 🙂

    Hi John,

Thanks for the link! I took a look and would recommend adding this CSS to the bottom of your theme’s style.css file:

    .tribe-events-filter-group.tribe-events-filter-checkboxes > ul:first-of-type {
    max-height: 100%;
    }

    I hope that helps!

    Hey @Jessica,

Thank you for sharing this information! I don’t quite recreate your issues, so I’m wondering—can you go through all of the steps outlined on this article? → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

After EACH STEP in that process, check on each of the three questions you answered at the opening of this thread. Do your answers ever change along the way in that process? Do things ever start working along the way?

I will keep digging here, too. Thank you for your patience with this, @Jessica!

    Hey @dwruck,

Thank you for confirming all of this information. Can you try temporarily activating a default theme, like Twenty Sixteen, on your site?

In this state, how do things behave?

    Thank you!
