in reply to: Events List Widget Date Not Correct #1443361

    Hey @Venthi76,

Thanks for your patience with some slower-than-normal response times this week!

When we say we cannot reproduce something, it means we indeed tried recreating the exact same issue on our own test sites, but weren’t able to see the problem.

In this case, for example, here’s a screenshot of how the Event List Widget renders on my local site → https://cloudup.com/cPhiU5R13ei

Note that each little square with the day number in it renders the correct date in my screenshot, unlike in yours.

So, since I cannot recreate this (nor can Courtney), the steps Courtney recommended could be very helpful here—please do them when able, and let us know what you find. If you find that the list widget does show correct date numbers when you have a default theme activated, for example, then this indicates a problem with your currently-active theme…

…let us know what you find! 😀

    Cheers,
    George

    Hey Ben,

Thanks for confirming that. I’ve looked through your system information—nothing stands out as being a problem, so please proceed with the rest of the steps Courtney recommended and let us know what you find! 😀

    Hey Jim,

Thanks for your patience here. In regards to your question about licensing, yes you can often use a license on staging sites without issue. However, please note that licenses are not necessary for the plugin to work, they simply sign up your website for updates and support. So you’re fine without the license on your staging site—you should be able to update events without a license, so let’s focus on that issue for now.

Please do the following steps and respond to each of the three following questions in order:

First, DELETE (not just deactivate, but delete) The Events Calendar, Event Tickets, and Event Tickets Plus from your site. This will not delete any data; just the files of the plugins. Once deleted, download fresh copies of all three plugins from your account’s “Downloads” page on this site. Install these fresh files on your site.

Then activate a default theme like Twenty Seventeen.

    1. Deactivate all plugins on your site except for just The Events Calendar. (Yes, deactivate Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus too, even though you just installed new files for them. Literally no plugin on your site should be active except for just The Events Calendar.) Please answer: In this state, can you create new events without issue? And can you update existing events without issue, too?
    2. Next, activate just Event Tickets (not Event Tickets Plus!). So now The Events Calendar and Event Tickets will be activated. Please answer: In this state, can you create new events without issue? And can you update existing events without issue, too?

    3. Finally, activate Event Tickets Plus. So now The Events Calendar, Event Tickets, and Event Tickets Plus are activated. Please answer: In this state, can you create new events without issue? And can you update existing events without issue, too?

↑ This testing process will be incredibly helpful. Please let us know what you find, and please follow these instructions exactly.

    Thanks!

    Hey Jörg,

    Thanks for reaching out.

You are right that the plugin Courtney shared will not list events, just Organizers and Venues.

Courtney is right, though, that we unfortunately don’t have a way to achieve what you want with the [tribe_events] shortcode.

I’m sorry to disappoint! We are not able to write custom code for you, so unfortunately there is not much to do in this case other than voting on the idea at the link Courtney shared. 🙁 I wish you the best of luck with your project nonetheless and would be happy to help with anything else to the best of my abilities.

    Cheers,
    George

    Hey Joe,

Sorry for the confusion here. While we cannot help with custom coding or templating, there is an option within The Events Calendar called “Include events in main blog loop”. When this option is checked, events will show up in the main blog loop of “posts” on your site.

You can see a screenshot of that option here → https://cldup.com/y7gWP0CWi3.png

Keep in mind that The Events Calendar is totally free! So definitely download it and spend a few minutes tinkering with it, especially with this option in mind, and see if it will suit your needs well.

Best of luck with your project,
    George

    Hey Sean,

If you just need to pull events from Site 1 to Site 2, then here’s the lowest-cost way of going about that:

    • Have The Events Calendar installed on both sites (free)
    • Install the WordPress Importer on both sites (free)
    • Use this knowledgebase guide to manually move venue, organizer, and event data from Site 1 to Site 2 → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-wordpress-export-tools-to-migrate-events-content/

If you want to have some sort of automatic migration from Site 1 to Site 2, then yes, just purchase one license for Event Aggregator. Use that license on one or both sites (you can use a single Aggregator license on up to 10 websites!) and then yes, set up your imports from there.

    Does this information help?

    Thanks,
    George

    PS

Just to be clear, there is no “Free version of Event Aggregator”.

The way it works is like this: Event Aggregator is built into the free plugin called The Events Calendar. But it won’t activate unless you enter a license key for Event Aggregator. So your Event Aggregator license key basically just “unlocks” the Event Aggregator features built into The Events Calendar. I hope this helps to clarify that!

    Hey Tom,

While I’m sure we do have many customers using our plugins in that way, I cannot think of any specific examples. We do have a Showcase, though, which features a wide variety of customers and use-cases of our products. It may be useful and I encourage you to browse through the various entries there → https://theeventscalendar.com/showcase/

Let me know if this helps and if there’s anything else I can try to help with!

    Hey Reinhard,

Thanks for reaching out! This is a good question, but unfortunately our plugins do not support this kind of display at this time:

What I want in the list-view is: 1 event with 4 different dates -> Is this possible with any of your plugins?

↑ This isn’t possible with any out-of-the-box features of our plugins or extensions at this time. Sorry to disappoint!

Please let me know if there any other questions I can try to help with.

    Hey Ryan,

    Thanks for reaching out!

While we are generally not able to help with custom coding, yes, the thread you linked to is thus far the best solution for customizing the map pin data. Cliff’s snippet should work well and I encourage you to tinker with it.

I will close this thread for now, but if you have further issues or questions don’t hesitate to open a new one! 😀

    Hey Kim,

Thanks for reaching out. There are unfortunately no official methods for cloning an event. 🙁 And so at this time, yes, a third-party solution would probably be required.

While we don’t officially recommend any specific third-party solution for this, and thus cannot guarantee they’ll work as advertised, several customers have reported success with the following free plugin on WordPress.org → https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/

    I hope that helps!

    Hey Sam,

    Thanks for reaching out!

It sounds like our products should indeed help provide this feature—to be clear, however, The Events Calendar alone won’t do this. It has no “tickets” features out-of-the-box.

You would have to install The Events Calendar and another plugin we make called Event Tickets, which is also free! When Event Tickets is activated, you can create “RSVP” slots for any event, and indeed can create multiple “slots” per event for different time periods, seating levels, et cetera.

Check out Event Tickets at the following URL, and remember that it is free to use, so definitely tinker with it a bit to see if it’ll suit your needs well! → https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets/

That page I linked you to features screenshots and other information about Event Tickets, so definitely give it a good read and let us know if you have any further questions we can try to help with.
