ParticipantI’m glad to hear that helped—be sure to give that plugin a good rating on WordPress.org to help out its developer!
I agree that more email control within our plugins would be quite a nice feature to have. I cannot promise any addition of such features for quite some time, as other features are currently taking higher priority, but it’s a great idea.
To help make the features a reality, feel free to share your ideas on our UserVoice page here! ? http://tribe.uservoice.com

ParticipantYikes! I’m glad to hear that the culprit has been identified and some progress has been made here, but am sorry that further conflicts with the shortcode persist.
When you describe Sensei being the culprit for the shortcode issue still, can you confirm that if you do nothing on your site except for deactivating the Sensei plugin, the shortcode starts to work as expected? And then if you nothing except re-activate the Sensei plugin, the shortcode then breaks again?
Thank you!

ParticipantThank you for your patience here, @Kathy. I’m sorry for the slow response but we’ve been testing this and having difficulty recreating the behavior you describe.
When we choose the import category to be “Barbecue”, for example, both categories get applied to the event upon import. Here’s a screenshot post-import, for example:
Sorry for the inconsistency and slow progress here. It’s an interesting issue!

ParticipantI’m sorry to disappoint @Lisa!
The plugins are ever-changing and we are constantly trying to make them better; please do share these thoughts and other suggestions/opinions on our UserVoice page here ? https://tribe.uservoice.com
Ideas posted to that page can be voted on by other customers, and we can track ideas there and communicate about their development process. Check it out and share your thoughts!

ParticipantSure thing Ashley—I agree that it would be ideal to not have the feature bound to the whole Pro plugin and thus require buying the whole kitchen sink for one or two features. 🙁 At this time it’s not possible, but if you email me at support at the events calendar dot com (with no spaces of course) and include a link to this thread for reference I have something that should help a bit! 😉
I’ll close this thread to facilitate that emailing—please do email me!
Cheers,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey @Mattboggs,
The “Pro” plugin is not a pro “Version” of anything, to be clear. The Events Calendar is the free, core plugin that provides the base event features. All other add-ons are add-ons to this main plugin; so no matter what, The Events Calendar must remain active.
I only mention this to make it clear, too, that Events Calendar Pro will not “speed up” anything.
I hope this helps!

ParticipantThank you!
What do you find if you perform the complete set of steps outlined here? ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
After EACH STEP in that process, try recreating this problem and see if issues persist.
Let me know what you find!
Thanks,

ParticipantSure thing! Look up the wp_mail_from_name filter on that article I linked to above, and add an additional filter like I demonstrated above with wp_mail_from that will change the name.
If you need additional assistance in writing code, please consult with a developer or the trusty google.com for examples, assistance, and more details on how WordPress filters work.
Best of luck with your customizations!
