ParticipantI’ve tested the shortcode, made sure ECP is running, purged the cache, refreshed the permalinks, and every other trick I know, but for some reason the [tribe_events_list] shortcode is not working. I don’t find any conflicts or errors, either.
http://www.vinology.com/summer for example. I am confused. I don’t see anyone else of the forums with the same issue, either.

ParticipantHey @wineschool, sorry to hear this!
I don’t have any problems with the shortcode, so for starters I’m wondering if you can post your site’s complete, un-edited “System Information” here? Here’s how to do that ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
Thank you!

ParticipantThank you for sharing this!
1. To be clear, is the [tribe_events_list] shortcode on http://www.vinology.com/summer-wine-school/ at the bottom of the post content?
2. Is the shortcode just literally [tribe_events_list], or does it have options, too? e.g. [tribe_events_list category=”parties”] If the shortcode has options, paste the whole actual shortcode you are using here.
3. Does anything change if you activate a default theme on your site like Twenty Twelve or Twenty Sixteen and then take a look at the post again? What do you find when you try this?
Thank you!

ParticipantThe shortcode is on the bottom of the page, and it’s just the shortcode without any options. It is also here: http://www.vinology.com/sommelier-courses/
It simply says “There are no upcoming events at this time.”
I cannot swap the themes, as this is our school’s website. However, there hasn’t been any changes to the theme in 4 months. It was working until the most recent update of ECP.

ParticipantHi, I notice in your “System Information” that you have a plugin listed as this:
Events Calendar Pro – Events List version 1.0.0 by Nabil Kadimi
Since this has “Events List” in the plugin title, I’m wondering if this plugin is adding its own version of the [tribe_events_list] shortcode or otherwise messing with the “default”/real shortcode that our plugins provide?
To test this, try deactivating that plugin and see if anything helps.
If that does not help, then while you mention not being able to deactivate the theme, the only other step I can recommend is to try proceeding with every other step you can do on this page ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/
I cannot reproduce your issues and so, as things currently stand, this still could be a plugin/theme code conflict and the steps above are the only means of revealing this—or ruling it out.
Do whatever steps on that page you are able to do; after EACH step, each plugin deactivation for example, check on the page with the shortcode and see if the behavior there is the same.
Thank you for your patience here; let us know what you find!
Sincerely,
GeorgeMay 18, 2016 at 1:42 pm #1116115wineschool
ParticipantI found the conflict. I reverted the theme to 2015 theme and turned off all plugins except Event Ticket, Calendar, and the Pro addons.
The plugin that blocks the [tribe_events_list] shortcode is SENSEI! There was recently another problem conflict between ECT and Woo’s Sensei recently: http://dzv365zjfbd8v.cloudfront.net/changelogs/woothemes-sensei/changelog.txt
The recent update to Sensei fixed most of the problem, but this shortcode issue still remains.

ParticipantYikes! I’m glad to hear that the culprit has been identified and some progress has been made here, but am sorry that further conflicts with the shortcode persist.
When you describe Sensei being the culprit for the shortcode issue still, can you confirm that if you do nothing on your site except for deactivating the Sensei plugin, the shortcode starts to work as expected? And then if you nothing except re-activate the Sensei plugin, the shortcode then breaks again?
Thank you!

ParticipantThat is correct. If I turn off Sensei, the issue corrects itself.
When I turn Sensei back on, the event listings disappear. I don’t do anything else.
Also, the team at WOO! says they have been in contact with your team to squash this bug.

ParticipantThank you for confirming this!
We’ve indeed worked with the Woo folks on the last Sensei conflict, and had a resolution for that in just a few short weeks. Hopefully this new bug has a similarly-quick turnaround!
I don’t have a specific ETA for the arrival of that bug at this time, nor any specific action I can recommend you take, but I just wanted to confirm that since it’s clear there’s a conflict here we will be working on fixing this as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
