    Hey Jai’rus,

    Sorry to hear about this!

I cannot recreate this problem on my own testing site, so I would recommend doing the following steps to try and reveal the problem:

    1. I see your events slug is /events/. If you head into your site’s wp-admin and to the Pages list there, do you find any Pages whose title is “Events”? If so, delete any such page.

    2. If you do not find that, or if you do and delete it but issues persist, then can you please activate a default theme like the Twenty Sixteen theme on your site? Once this theme is activated, do issues persist?

    3. If issues persist, then proceed with the complete set of troubleshooting steps on this page β†’ https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/ After EACH STEP in that process, check on your /events/ page and see if issues persist.

Let us know what you find! πŸ˜€

    Thanks,
    George

    Hi Kate,

    Thanks for reaching out!

    – I presume any images would have to be downloaded by me separately?

Images are supported with Facebook, but are not supported with plain iCal imports, for example. So it depends on what specific type of import you are using. If Facebook, then the Facebook event’s featured image will be imported and automatically used as the WordPress version’s featured image. If iCal, or Google Calendar, etc., then no images will be imported and yes, you’d have to manually add them to the event.

    – How would a user book? Is the link provided in the website link? Does it go to FB?

Event Aggregator doesn’t provide any booking features, so yes, any booking for events would take place wherever the event originates from. So if the events are originally on Facebook.com, and the Facebook.com version of the event has a “buy now” or “RSVP” button on it, then yes, folks would have to click through to that Facebook.com version of the event and register there.

    – I presume any event details as well as time/date are all uploaded via the agreegator?

There is no way to upload event information via Event Aggregator β€” all it does is import events from other sources. So for any event details like the name, time, date, location, etc., all of this information has to exist on the original event. It will not be created by Event Aggregator.

For example, let’s say you have Facebook.com event with a title, location, date, and time. You can import this with Event Aggregator, and all of that data will be imported as-is. Once the event is successfully imported onto your WordPress site, you can then go into the WordPress version of the event and modify any of those details: but Event Aggregator does not create those details or allow for modifying them, you can only modify details after the importing is done.

I hope this information all helps! Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hey James,

Thanks for reaching out, and for your interest in our products!

    1) Is there a limit on venues I can sync with to pull in events?

There are no hard limits on any aspect of the importer plugin: number of venues, number of events, number of pages, etc. The only constraints in place are the technical ones of your site and server.

So, for example, if you wanted to have scheduled imports from 1500 different Facebook pages, this is allowed, but would probably crash your site any time an import tried to run because it’s just too much data.

I hope this info helps β€” let me know if there’s anything more specific you’re wondering about here!

    2) How can I determine what events are β€˜adult’ as I’m focussing on music events and gigs, some of which will be held in bars?

There’s unfortunately no way of determining what events are “adult-only” from within WordPress, or after the import process, because Facebook itself does not allow “adult” events to even be publicly accessible via their API! πŸ™ So the only way to know which events are adult or not is on Facebook.com directly β€” if it’s got an age restriction added manually by the creator of the event, this can be changed by the event creator and it can then be made a “non-adult-only” event can be imported. However, Facebook itself also does automatic flagging of events, so that events related to alcohol, for example, cannot be “un-flagged” in this way.

You can learn more about this here β†’ https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/facebook-api-errors/

    3) Do I need to set up each venue’s details prior to importing venues within The Events Calendar?

When you say “set up each venue’s details”, it depends what you mean. If you mean that the info has to exist first on Facebook.com to be imported, then yes, the event on Facebook.com needs to have its address/location info added in order for that information to be imported.

If you mean something else, like either adding venue info on the WordPress site first, or needing to some special venue creation on Facebook.com firs, then no, you do not. All you need to do on the Facebook.com event is specify the location: if it’s a located that’s already been used in previous imports, than on the WordPress site it should just reference that originally-imported venue. If it’s a location that hasn’t been used before, then a new venue will be automatically created and assigned to that event on the WordPress site, and to all future imported events that occur at the same venue.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

    Hey Mark,

That’s interesting, and is not a problem other folks have been reporting. Have you ever applied for a refund?

To further resolve this issue, can you please contact us over email? That is better suited for this sort of conversation.

Please send an email to support at theeventscalendar dot com with a link in your email back to this forum thread for reference.

We can pick up the conversation from there and I’ll be able to help you resolve these issues for good and get a renewal promptly. πŸ˜€

    Cheers!

    Hey Jimih,

    Thanks for reaching out.

It’s true that we’re still working on full integration for recurring event tickets β€” I am sorry for the trouble in the meantime, and that it’s a bit of a pain for organizers at this time. πŸ™

In terms of a temporary solution, unfortunately allowing for “event duplication” is itself another complicated thing to build and do, and is not easily possible at this time with our plugins.

I’m sorry to bear that bad news β€” please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Thank you,
    George

    Hi Rob,

We have had compatibility issues recently but have fixed those in the recent 4.3.2 release of our plugins.

So as long as you use versions 4.3.2 or higher of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro, you should not have issues with the X Theme.

    Cheers,

    Sorry to hear this Alan!

I cannot reproduce this problem, so am wondering if you can first share your site’s system information on this thread. Here are instructions for how to do so β†’ https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/

I will use that information to try and recommend some action steps you can try.

    Thanks!

    Hey there,

Thanks for posting a deep analysis of things. This issue is squarely on our radar and we are hoping to publish a fix for this soon β€” possibly our next maintenance release. (https://theeventscalendar.com/release-schedule/)

I will post an update here when the fix is available β€” thanks for sharing this!

(And yes, as you noted there is not really any way to fix this without modifying core plugin code directly).

    Cheers,

    Hey Mathew,

The <address> tag was used because within the tag is contact information β€” https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/address

It may not be the best choice given the nearest tag ancestor is often not the recommend <article> or <body> tag, so I will bring this up with our development team and changes may be made here.

As for the phone number running inline with other details, we have confirmed this as a bug and are hoping to publish a fix soon β€” I will update this thread when the fix is available!

    Thanks,

    Hey David,

    Thanks for reaching out.

Making the sort of customizations you describe is indeed possible, but unfortunately it is not something we ourselves are able to help with.

We also unfortunately don’t have our own documentation for this β€” the main documentation necessary is the documentation for the Google Maps API itself, which can be found here β†’ https://developers.google.com/maps/

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

    Hey Chelsea,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The Events Calendar is indeed a bit limited in terms of being used on multiple different locations β€” Events Calendar Pro offers shortcodes and other methods.

To be clear, though, you can only ever have one “body” of events. You cannot have actually separate calendars, but can present different events based on category, etc., using the [tribe_events] shortcode in Events Calendar Pro.

To learn more about the methods available for the things you describe here, check out this knowledgebase article β†’ https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/can-you-have-multiple-calendars/

I hope that article helpsβ€”let me know if there’s anything else I can try to help based on that!

    Hey Lee,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The best course of action here is to first renew your business license. This will apply the discount for the renewal. Once it’s renewed, you can upgrade any time before the license expires again β€” simply go to http://theeventscalendar.com/license-keys and locate the “Upgrade:” buttons next to your license key. You can select the “Agency” option and will be brought to a checkout with the correct upgrade.

    I hope this helps!
