February 3, 2016 at 11:50 pm in reply to: Charging for an event listing – Wish to offer a 'Free' and a 'Paid' option #1067386Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Bob and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products and we’ll be glad to answer your questions.
Charging for an event listing – Wish to offer a ‘Free’ and a ‘Paid’ option… I seem unable to find any reference to charging for an event listing. NOT tickets, just posting an event.
You are right, there is no Price field in our plugin.
The main reason for that is because 99% of our clients that want to charge for an event do so using the Events Tickets Plus premium plugin. This plugin integrates perfectly with the e-commerce plugin of your choice. It even allows you to sell multiple ticket types for a single event. You can even “sell” free tickets if you want.
We also have customers that do not want to charge for their events, but let their clients RSVP for events. These customers use our free the Events Tickets plugin.
So the simplest way to achieve what you are looking for would be through the use of the Events Tickets Plus premium plugin. None of our other plugins contain a charge field.
You can even change the word Ticket to something else and prevent the ticket email from being sent if you prefer. In other words, think of the word Ticket as charging for an event. You do not need to actually hand out tickets or call them tickets.
Thinking of Pro and The Community Events module – do the plugins allow for charging for an event posting?
Pro offers some wonderful additional features (views, recurring events, advanced widgets, shortcodes, etc..), but no price field
Community Events allows users to create and manage events on your website’s front-end, but does not contain a price field. That being said, you can extend that functionality by using Community tickets to allow ticket sales on Community Events (again, ticket is just a word for charging).
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
We will gladly try to assist you with your questions.I’m looking to expand the level of detail displayed on the list view of my site. (I’m using Avada theme)
Could you please provide us with a bit more details on this ? What are you looking to add ?
The reason I’m asking is because even though we do not officially support template customization, we do have an extensive bank of unsupported snippets that might get you started.
I’ve taken a look at the themers guide section see below but I’m not clear which of these option is the one I need.
As stated above, depending on what you are trying to accomplish exactly the answer to this question might change.
Based on the very limited information I have, my guess is that you probably will want to modify the list/single-event.php as this is where the event content is returned (look around line 66 of that file).
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Per,
Thank you for the links to your website.
Based on your answer, I went ahead and tried to reproduce the issue step by step using not the Norwegian files but the French ones since it turns out I do quite a bit of translating myself as well.
As luck would have it, I had the exact same issue as you did with French. This led me to conduct as series of tests. All of them failed except for one.
I decided to open up the language file found in /wp-content/plugins/event-tickets-plus/lang and chose to update it using it the pot file found in the same folder.
It turns out there were a couple of updates needed. When I uploaded the updated file back, everything thing worked and was translated properly.
So in short, I confirm that the Add to Cart button text is being loaded from the plugin language file.
Could you give my procedure a shot and tell me if that works for you ?
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Erik and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for the good words. We are glad you like our products.
We will gladly try to assist you with your question. Is there a way to include a customer’s shipping address (or any other customer order field) in the export-to-Excel feature in the plugin? That would be immensly useful. I’m comfortable with editing code if there are any changes i can do to the plugin-files.
First of all, you will be glad to know that there is a feature currently in development called Ticket Meta which will let you do a ton of things, including what you are looking for in a very intuitive way.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a release date for you yet, but stay tuned! That being said, you can always customize the plugins to your liking. The best way to do that is explained fairly clearly when you read our Themer’s guide.
As a starting point, please read my colleague George’s great post on a similar topic. This should get you started.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

February 3, 2016 at 9:53 pm in reply to: Events Cal import from my Apple Calendar on iMac or from Google #1067362Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Dennis and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!
Thank you for your interest in our products and we’ll be glad to answer your questions.
They need a calendar program that would use iCal or .ics so they could place it on the app the way I wanted it to be through their development code.
Our calendar can output URLS, files or feeds in a few different formats including the iCal format.
Can I import from there or should i just impost from the source, which is the Google Calendar with your iCal importer ?
The iCal importer lets you import both from an iCal URL or an .ics file.
The difference between both is that a .ics file only allows you to do one time imports whereas importing from an iCal URL can also let you sync your Calendar on a scheduled basis (every hour, every day, every week, etc..).
They also mentioned that it needs to be private but ours are public. Does it make a difference?
On our end that doesn’t change anything, as long as you share your Calendar with our plugin.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Julia and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about the plugin not working for you anymore.
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic. After a quick glance at your system information (thank you for that), it appears that:
- You do not have the latest version of the<b> </b>Events<b> </b>Calendar Pro. Your version is at 4.0 whereas the most current version is 4.05. Perhaps there is an issue with the license key entered under Events > Settings > Licenses ? Either way, you can always download the latest version of the plugin straight from your Account page on this site. Once the plugin updated, hopefully everything will work properly again.
- You are still using Event Rocket. Although that might still work it is no longer supported since version 4.0
Let me know if that helps.

MemberGood evening Terry,
As promised, I went ahead and tested thoroughly.
Here are the results:- Manual creation of the event worked like a charm as expected.
- No matter how I sliced it (I experimented with a bunch of settings), importing the events from the Google Calendar feed resulted in the exact same result as you had (the poster child example being the event from February 10 Winston….)
The only good news is that I believe I have found the cause of the bug.
It looks like the event with the faulty time is actually using the timezone from the event just before it (in this case the Luxembourg event).
I am unsure why that is the case (especially provided the following events on that day are fine). In any case, I want to apologize for all the trouble and I will go ahead and log this as a bug on our end.
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date for a fix at this point. But you will be contacted as soon as there is one.I wish I had better news for you, but unfortunately this is all I have for now.
Is there anything else I can help you with ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.Geoff B.
MemberGood afternoon Ryan,
Thank you for your follow-up question.
Will the iCal Importer import items from an RSS feed? Meaning, will the iCal importer pull ALL the information we make for events in The Events Calendar (photo, description, google map, etc.)? or just some of the information? What we are trying to do is use The Events Calendar on our main site to schedule events, then use another plugin to duplicate the events exactly as written to our microsites. Will iCal Importer do this?
To answer your question, we do not have a supported solution that would make a perfect copy of the calendar entries on one site to a sister site (including pictures, venue details, etc..).
The iCal importer will be limited to the information it can provide (event title, description and location) in an ics format. That being said, you could totally experiment with unsupported plugins such as:
This might work since you can totally customize your site’s RSS feeds for events.
Let me know if that helps.

February 3, 2016 at 12:14 pm in reply to: Community Event: Organizer Details are not being saved. #1067209Geoff B.
MemberGood afternoon Louis,
Thank you for confirming this is not limited only to the subscriber role.
Creating a new role or editing existing ones to add capabilities was absolutely worth a try. That being said, I still believe there is some type of conflict happening (aside from the legitimate email bug).
So please let me know if you are able to save organizers once you revert back to a basic template, deactivate all other plugins and clear the cache.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Craig and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about the photo size issue you have been experiencing.
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic. Is there an easy way other than editing each photo, to have them display uniform in size (even if they auto crop) for the Related Events below the single event page? Also, perhaps for the photos when you have the View As set to Photos?
The short answer to this question is yes, you can totally control the display of pictures.
But that will require some CSS work. The good news is that you can read our Themer’s guide to get you started. For example, the CSS rule to tweak for Related Events pictures is .tribe-events-single ul.tribe-related-events .tribe-related-events-thumbnail img
Also, on the View As Photos layout, is there a way to have the write up or summary get displayed or cut off at the same length? I’d like it as uniform as possible
Yes you can.
The simple way to do it is to use the Excerpt field in the Edit Event screen. By default, the plugin will display what’s there and if it’s empty, then it will fall back to the whole content.
If you want to make things more automatic, then I recommend reading my colleague George’s great post on the subject.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberGood evening Matt and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We will gladly try to answer all of your questions on this topic.I am Events Calendar Pro customer but have question on free Events Tickets RSVP addon — I’m not sure where to post. Please advise where best to post future questions on same subject.
You can do so by selecting the Events Tickets Forum from the Forum dropdown, but it’s no big deal. We’ll gladly help you out wherever you post.
My goal is to be able to modify name and/or email address associated with an RSVP ticket as an Administrator. If it’s not possible, then this is a feature request.
I have good news for you!
It turns out this feature is actually underway as you can see from our User Voice forum. Unfortunately, I don’t have a release date for you, but stay tuned!
After RSVP tickets have been issued, in the “attendees” list on the WP admin panel, the left-hand column is “Order #” for example “4670” in bold. It is a clickable link, for example on my trident.gallery site to “http://trident.gallery/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=tickets-attendees&event_id=1354”. Every ticket links to the same link, which results in reloading the same screen I’m on anyway. So I’m confused about the purpose of this link — this would naturally be a link to editing the particular ticket.
This is indeed an odd behaviour. It should normally link to the tickets just like you would think it would.
As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your system information in a private reply ?
Have a great day!
