We have had an app for our smartphones built for the nonprofit we use and we wanted use a calendar in a list format. The developers said we need to get a calendar on the website that is not just a Google one, which we were using from another calendar plugin where we needed an API and calendar ID to run from Google. They need a calendar program that would use iCal or .ics so they could place it on the app the way I wanted it to be through their development code.

I have an iMac with a Goole calendar attached and the iMac also states that I have a Hope For The Bay.ics already on the iMac. Can I import from there or should i just impost from the source, which is the Google Calendar with your iCal importer.

They also mentioned that it needs to be private but ours are public. Does it make a difference?

    Thanks in advance

Good evening DennisĀ and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products and we’ll be glad to answer your questions.

They need a calendar program that would use iCal or .ics so they could place it on the app the way I wanted it to be through their development code.

Our calendar can output URLS, files or feeds in a few different formats including the iCal format.

Can I import from there or should i just impost from the source, which is the Google Calendar with your iCal importer ?

The iCal importer lets you import both from an iCal URL or an .ics file.

The difference between both is that a .ics file only allows you to do one time imports whereas importing from an iCal URL can also let you sync your Calendar on a scheduled basis (every hour, every day, every week, etc..).

They also mentioned that it needs to be private but ours are public. Does it make a difference?

On our end that doesn’t change anything, as long as you share your Calendar with our plugin.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!
