Hi
I have Events Tickets Plus running on a site with Norwegian language with WooCommerce.

The problem I am having is that some of the strings are not displaying in the correct language

Where the tickets(Billeter) section of an event listing is; it is displaying in English instead of Norwegian.

Anybody know why this is and how to remedy the issue?

Good evening Per and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about the missing string translation.
We will gladly try to assist you on this topic.

I just went ahead and switched my WordPress installation to Norsk.

The result was that I got to display Billeter (as a title), but the Stock information (50 out of 50 available) and the Add to cart button were still in english.

This is caused by the fact that my installation of WooCommerce (and probably yours too) needs the Norwegian language pack added (or updated).
Please read the following documentation on that topic to get started: https://docs.woothemes.com/document/woocommerce-localization/

Once that’s done, everything should display in Norwegian properly.

Let me know if that helps.

Have a great day!

Hi
Thanks for responding. Unfortunately that isn’t the problem, WooCommerce is using the Norwegian language.

If you check the regular shop pages(Butikk) you’ll see that there are a couple of items there and they are displayed in Norwegian. It seems that something is causing the tickets to revert to displaying in English instead of Norwegian.

Regards

Good evening Per,

Thank you for getting back to us.

I am sorry my recommendation didn’t pay off. But I will gladly stick with you until we get to the bottom of things.

First of all I would love to see the shop pages and the events pages. However I am unsure what URLS to use ?

In case you didn’t know (I’m going out on a limb here), there are also language files specifically for the Events Tickets Plus.

You can find them at /wp-content/plugins/event-tickets-plus/lang

Although you will find some language po/mo files and the pot file in that directory, please know we are actually using Glotpress to maintain translations as described in the following article.

So my best guess (until I get the URLs) is that either there is po/mo file missing or it might not have been updated with the latest pot file.

Let me know if that helps.

Have a great day!

Geoff B.

Good evening Per,

Thank you for the links to your website.

Based on your answer, I went ahead and tried to reproduce the issue step by step using not the Norwegian files but the French ones since it turns out I do quite a bit of translating myself as well.
As luck would have it, I had the exact same issue as you did with French.

This led me to conduct as series of tests. All of them failed except for one.

I decided to open up the language file found in /wp-content/plugins/event-tickets-plus/lang and chose to update it using it the pot file found in the same folder.

It turns out there were a couple of updates needed. When I uploaded the updated file back, everything thing worked and was translated properly.

So in short, I confirm that the Add to Cart button text is being loaded from the plugin language file.

Could you give my procedure a shot and tell me if that works for you ?

Have a great day!

Hi Geoff

Again thank-you for your time. 🙂

I have tried your suggestion regarding updating the language files. Unfortunately it hasn’t helped.
I have also done the same with the “Events Tickets” plugin and checked that none of the language files in /wp-content/languages/ and it’s sub-folders were overriding.
I have been through all of the usual things too(deactivating and reactivating plugins etc) I have also re-uploaded most of the plugins that are in use on the site….

I have also setup a completely new site with just the bare bones of what is necessary regarding plugins
-Akismet (not active)
-Event Tickets
-Event tickets plus
-Hello Dolly (not Active)
-The Events Calendar
-TinyMCe Advanced
-WooCommerce

The problem is still there (I also updated the language files)

Hello again Per,

Hmmm I’m actually surprised that this did not work for you.

If you don’t mind, I have a couple of suggestions for you:

• Could you deactivate TinyMCE advanced and revert back to Twenty Fifteen temporarily and tell me if the issue persists ?
• Could you hand me a copy of your Norwegian po/mo files for Events Tickets Plus (probably through Dropbox in a private reply) ?
• Can you tell me if you have any template overrides/customization (by having a tribe-events folder in your Child Theme) ?

Have a great day!

Hi Geoff

Thank you (Y) the files you provided did the trick, I just needed to modify/add a few translations….but problem solved.

I have no idea how the files I was using got mixed up and renamed…..

Thanks again

Hey Per,

It’s my pleasure (and most importantly, my job 😉 ).

I’m glad this worked out and that you can finally get Norwegian all across your site.

You are always welcome back here if there is anything else.

Have a great day!

Geoff B.
