    Hello again Ben,

As promised, here are the results of the second opinion.

Our dates are stored in two fields:

    1. _EventStartDateUTC
    2. _EventStartDate

It sounds like you might be nabbing the wrong one for your purposes.
One is the UTC timezone, will be 6 hours off of local. The other isn’t.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon Dan,

As promised, I had somebody take a look at the code and here’s what they came up with:

    1) WooTickets are submitted via Ajax. So the action ‘wootickets_after_save_ticket’, can actually run before you have selected any categories and updated the post. Instead you might be interested in the more generic action save_post, and checking if the saved post is an event and if that event has tickets. If so, update the attached tickets.

    2) The action ‘wootickets_after_save_ticket’ has three variables it passes: $ticket_id, $event_id, $raw_data. You are using ticket_id but you really should use the event_id.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon Paul,

I am sorry about about the extra work involved. Perhaps I miscommunicated what I meant.
    My apologies.

As you will see above, I went through the testing for conflicts procedure, so now we’re repeating ourselves. I can do it again, I guess, if you think we’ll discover something new. But I don’t have the tech know-how to create a test environment.

The idea behind testing for conflicts again was to do it after the upgrades of the plugins. I realize this is not much fun, but it’s a necessary evil to leave no stone unturned (which also translates to faster resolution).

As for the test environment, it’s actually pretty useful to avoid nasty surprises when updates roll in.
The good news is that you can totally set it up on your own computer for free using the instructions found in one of the 2 following links (depending if you are a PC or Mac user):

And now… your advice to me is that I buy the Community Events plug-in at $149 USD and pay a tech to customize something I had perfectly configured before you had me migrate to Events Tickets.

This is absolutely my bad. I should have been more thorough in my answer.

I totally understand that this worked fine for you prior to the update to ETP. That being said ETP is a far more stable and robust product than WooTickets was.
<span style=”line-height: 1.5;”>In other words, I sincerely believe it solves more issues than it creates. </span>

Some of our users choose to keep older versions of our plugins in place (which you can absolutely revert back to should you prefer) because they have a specific workflow and do not want to break it. But of course, that also means that over time, these plugins are bound to not be compatible with newer WordPress versions and will not benefit from bugfixes, security patches, etc…

But back to my previous answer, what I meant to say is that you will need some customization to make your flat fee happen with ETP.
There are quite a few ways to go about this and it is not as bad or complicated as it sounds nor a complicated snippet.

But before we go there, just to set expectations, as you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our wonderful customers started on the right track to customize their site and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

With that in mind and understanding I am actually looking to provide you with options, you could:

    • Use the local installation of WordPress suggested above to run some tests and see if changing the tickets to non-virtual breaks anything for you
    • Scour the web to find a snippet to add a flat fee on a specific WooCommerce product type OR to enable Shipping fees on a Virtual Product
    • Temporarily buy our Community Tickets add-on to analyze how this is done ( your are fully entitled to a refund if you want one since you are within 30 days of your purchase. To obtain the refund, you just need to follow the procedure described here).
    • Hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

I changed the time format in my WordPress settings from AM/PM to am/pm and now it’s starting to save when I schedule my tickets. So that’s a step in the right direction.

Kudos on figuring that one out and thank you for sharing!

Still, with Woo Tickets, Issue #1 as described at the very top of this thread is persisting. But this is the lesser of the evils. It’s clumsy, duct tape solution, but at least I’m getting the system to do what I need it to do.

I totally understand and respect where you are coming from on this.

The cause of this specific issue is that WooTickets no longer plays nicely with the latest version of our the Events Calendar plugins. Unfortunately, short of rolling back the Events Calendar other plugins to an earlier version (prior to 4.0) this will be hard to fix.

I wish I had a better answers for you, but for now these are sincerely the best ones I have.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good afternoon David,

I’m glad my suggestion for the second question worked out for you!

I understand where you are coming from with the non-profit aspect of things.
In the end, it’s all a matter of finding a solution that meets your needs.

On that note, the solution I suggested above is actually not as complicated as it sounds. You would just need to have the appropriate add-ons and somebody that knows how to set it up properly at first. From there it will be pretty much smooth sailing.

Let me know if I can help you any further on this topic ?

    Best regards,

Good evening Kirby and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your question.

Does Events Calendar Pro include the iCal Importer?  Or do those need to be purchased separately?

You will need to purchase the iCal importer separately from the Events Calendar Pro.
They are two separate products: https://theeventscalendar.com/product/ical-importer/

That being said, we do offer an importer bundle in case that might be interesting to you: https://theeventscalendar.com/bundles/

Finally, all of the Events Calendar versions do come packaged with a CSV importer.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Richard and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

I can’t seem to change any thing that takes out the “FREE” parts of the event?

You could hide the free mention with CSS or with some template customization: you might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

What if I want to collect cash at the door? And if I did want to charge I can’t collect through paypal? Will upgrading to pro solve any of these issues?

Actually, although the Pro version is awesome, what you would need is our Events Tickets Plus add-on.

That plugin is meant to help you do exactly what you are looking for: sell tickets AND collect money through the Payment gateway of your choice (Paypal or other).

It also integrates perfectly with the E-commerce plugin of your choice ( WooCommerce, EDD, Shopp).

Let me know if that helps.

Good evening Craig and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

Do we need to remove the free plugin first and if we do will the calendar data be there after installing the PRO version or do we need to install the PRO version first and then remove the free version or do both versions have to be on the system ?

No, you do not need to remove the free plugin.

You will need to download the Pro add-on from your account and install it alongside the free plug-in.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Ben and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the location not syncing for your Facebook events.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I ran a couple of tests and it looks like this might be an address format related issue.

96 Snowsfields, London SE1 3SS, UK (basically changing the sequence).

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Douglas and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us and for sharing your system information.

We are sorry to hear that the snippet did not work for you.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I went ahead and tried the snippet with the very latest version of our plugins and the good news is that it works perfectly.

So I believe your hunch is correct. There is a very good chance that there is something conflicting with this snippet in your WordPress theme’s functions.php or within a template override of the list-widget itself (widgets/list-widget.php)

The quickest way to know for sure would be to temporarily revert back to a default WordPress theme (e.g.: twenty-fifteen) and try the snippet there.

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Ian and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the inconveniences caused by the attendee list made public.

The default should be to hide all public information, and then provide an option to toggle it on for specific events if needed. (The ‘Hide attendees list on event page’ option SHOULD BE ‘Show attendees list on event page’!).

I absolutely understand your very valid point and I will relay the information to our product team. Thank you for sharing.

In addition, selecting not to show the attendee list should also remove the user facing option ‘Don’t list me’, since this option is out of context and causes confusion for the end-user/purchaser.

Once again, your suggestion is spot on. I will relay that point as well.

After updating the plugins then editing the events to select the ‘Hide attendees list on event page’ option, the remaining ticket counts were wiped out!

Wow, you are absolutely right! Our sincerest apologies on this one.

I just opened a bug ticket to make sure this gets addressed ASAP. Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned, you will be contacted as soon as a fix or at least a snippet is available.

In closing, I absolutely understand that the combination of these different points is particularly frustrating.
Thank you for still taking the time to share with us and help us get better.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Brendan,

Thank you for sharing your system information.

I am pretty confident that the cause of the faulty filter is the fact that you are using the Event Rocket plugin.
Unfortunately, as you might know, this plugin is no longer maintained and has had several compatibility issues with the latest version of our plugins since version version 4.0.

If you want to continue using that plugin unfortunately, you are very likely to have to update it to reflect the changes that were made in the code of the Events Calendar plugin family since version 4.0 .

You could probably run a quick test (not on the homepage, but on the actual built-in events page) to see if the issue persist after deactivating the plugin.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Good evening Marylu,

Normally all our non-profit requests get answered, except in rare cases when there is an issue with the system.

In other words, if you don’t get an answer within 5 days of submitting the form, it is worth following up on.

Is there anything else I can help you with ?

    Good evening Peter,

Thank you for all the information and for the invitation to login.

As stated in one of the comments above, unfortunately, our policy does not allow us to log in to clients websites for several reasons, including liability.

Based on what I am seeing from your website, it looks like the issue is caused by a customization in your WordPress theme. More precisely, the customization in question needs updating to work properly with the latest version of our plugins.

If you look in your WordPress theme’s folder, you will notice that there is a /tribe-events/ folder. If you are unfamiliar with customizations you can:

    • Take a look at our themer’s guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/ (this will give you an overall understanding)
    • Contact the developper that did the customization for you OR the theme author to ask for an update
    • Remove the single.php file (after a backup) from the /tribe-events/ folder – note that this will change the look of things, but it should work.

If none of the above work, then that means that there is a conflict with either your WordPress theme or another plugin.

In that case, could you also please go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out. Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.

I appreciate your patience as we try to identify the cause as fast as we can.

    Best regards,
