    Hey James,

    Thank you for your answer.

Yes, you are 100% right, it is not a good idea to change the strings directly in the core code for the very reason you mentioned: you will lose your changes upon updating the plugin.

You are much better off (after removing your changes in the core files):

In other words, you can’t move the core files to a child theme. Some of the view files are moveable and customizable, but not the admin ones.

That being said either of the 2 approaches above will make you update proof.

Let me know if you need help implementing any of these.

    Have a great day!

    Hey Renan,

I am sorry to hear this does not accomplish what you are looking for.

Technically speaking our event “pages” are actually not pages.

Some of our users have reported achieving something similar to what you are doing by using the following third-party plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar-shortcode/

Other than that, we are working on including more shortcodes in our upcoming releases that will certainly help in having a built-in solution. Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned!

If the suggested plugin does not work for you, you will have to resort to customization.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to see how that works.

Simply put, you could technically create a WordPress page template that is 100% customized to your needs.

That being said, just to set expectations, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

Finally, if this is all a bit outside of your comfort zone, you can always hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Hey Taike,

Thank you for the additional info.

I am noticing that you seem to have both Event Tickets Plus AND WooCommerce tickets activated. To prevent any issues I would suggest removing WooCommerce Tickets.

Also, there are a few WooCommerce Order Status control plugins out there.

Some of these plugins simply change the value of the order status straight in the Database instead of going through the actual same loop as when you manually set the order status to “Complete”. As such, the tickets do not get sent. I am thinking this is the case with the plugin you are using.

Additionally we now have a feature in our plugin to do something similar. It does not work for everybody, but it is certainly worth trying after deactivating your plugin. You can find that option in Events -> Settings -> Tickets (look for the checkbox)

So in short, I would first confirm that tickets do get sent properly when setting the order Status manually.
From there, it looks like you might have to try the different options to see which solution works for you.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Hey Antonio,

That is such a good catch. Thank you for that.

It makes sense if you read the bottom part of the Events -> Settings -> Community screen (Community tickets).
For this to work, you would need to provide visitors with “Edit_event_tickets” capabilities, which would not be the best of ideas.

Check this box if you wish all Subscribers to receive the ability to create tickets. Uncheck it if you will be altering the edit_event_tickets capability either via a plugin or custom filter.

Let me know how your experiments with roles and capabilities go.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    Hey Trey,

Thank you for taking the time to review your WordPress install.

Based on what you are telling me, it looks like there are some template customizations that are in need of some updates (and that are currently preventing the tickets from displaying normally.

If you take a look at our Themer’s guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/ , you will notice that, for the context of customization, we are still using the wootickets folder.

There are a couple of ways to go about this:

    1. Quickly revert to a default theme such as twenty-fifteen to see if the issue persists and confirm that it’s a theme/customization related issue
    2. Remove your customizations one by one until you find the culprit
    3. Send me a copy of your complete theme folder in .zip file (and the original theme as well if you are using a child theme) so that I can take a look at it.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Good afternoon Hans-Gerd,

Thank you for running the tests as requested and for providing an example as requested.

This allowed me to find the cause of the issue.

What is going on (if you look at the URL after a search OR if you expand the filter bar is that by default the Terminanzeige category is checked).

Removing that check returns the expected results.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Good evening Simon and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

What is going on is that in the list view, the excerpt section is not accepting HTML by default.
The good news is that you can totally change that using the following: https://git.io/vrcXG

You can control what gets displayed by using the except field in the Edit event screen.
The snippet above will let you put in HTML tags (such as )

Let me know how that goes.

Good evening Renan and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

Does the PRO version have this feature?

Yes, it does. You can accomplish exactly what you are looking for using our Pro shortcodes: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/

Good evening Ben and welcome to the Events Calendar forum!

Thank you for your interest in our products.
We’ll be glad to answer your questions.

    1. Which version do I buy? I’m building only one site, but it’s not MY site, it’s for my employer. I’m not sure whether I need to spend $89 on the personal edition or $149 on the business edition. I try to keep my licensing clean, so it’s important to me to know which one I need for legitimacy.

That’s a good question. Actually you can totally use the personal edition for business purposes. The only difference between the personal and business editions is that you get 3 licenses with the business edition (instead of just 1 with the personal one).

    2. Can I continue receiving updates after the year of support has expired, or is this actually an annual subscription fee? $149 is pretty reasonable for a one time purchase, since your free plugin is quite robust, but I’d be hard pressed to justify a yearly expense that high for our small library system (and we’re not a 501 c3 nonprofit).

The license fee covers updates AND premium support.

After the license expires, you can still use our plugin of course. However, I would recommend not updating our companion free plugin if that is the case.

In other words, if you want to keep receiving the updates, you will have to renew the license (renewal fees do include a discount at the time of writing).

    3. I want to be able to do the following:
    a) Filter by event category (not necessarily with a button, I can set up a separate page for each) between my five library branch locations
    b) Create a special set of recurring daily “events” for my hours of operation that show up in a separate widget on the page, so it will display the current day’s hours of operation
    c) Allow the branch manager of each library to set up events using as simple an interface as possible.

    a) This is accomplished via our the Events Calendar Pro premium add-on using our Pro shortcodes: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/

    b) This will still require our the Events Calendar Pro premium add-on as well as some code snippets in your functions.php file as can be seen in the following threads:

    c) To do that, I would recommend getting a copy of our Community Events premium add-on which lets you do exactly that.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Hey again Antonio,

    These are great questions.

for the user of high tickets, must register as a user of blog previously

This will mostly depend on your setting in Events -> Settings -> Community for Allow anonymous submissions.

A basic subscriber role will do the trick 🙂

But that profile should have no access to other management functions?

The short answer to that is “it depends what you want the profile to be able to do”.

I recommend reading the following articles on roles and permissions and on how to use a plugin such as Members to control that:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/?s=roles+and+permissions&submit=Search&post_type%5B%5D=documentation&post_type%5B%5D=tribe-knowledgebase

With that profile you could then read the QR codes to control entry to the event?

You will need to establish a role/profile that’s able to view and edit the attendee list of each event.

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

    Hi again Antonio,

I would love to help you out with this.

Basically, the language files packaged with our different plugins might not always be 100% up to date.
But the good news is that you can always get the latest files for your language here: http://translations.theeventscalendar.com/projects

Once you download these files, you will need to drop them in the language folder of the plugins.
You might also need to rename them slightly to match the name found in the language folder of the plugins.

The strings you are looking to translate are actually part of the Event Tickets Plus plugin.

As an alternative, you can always use the following method: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-the-wording-of-any-bit-of-text-or-string/

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!
