Hi,
unfortunately, the search function (TEC) for terms in events does not work reliable with any browser. Particularly with firefox we had this problem ever, with other browsers (Chrome, Opera) the problem appears partially.
Thanks for Assistance.Best regards
Hans-GerdMay 16, 2016 at 1:09 am #1114797Hans-GerdParticipantHi,
problem seems to be related to the view (“day”). When selecting “List”, it works.
However, for us would be the day view a better solution.Best regards

Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the search not working to your expectations.
I would love to help you with this topic. As a starting point, could you give me an example of a search term you are using, as well as the results you are getting which are not to your satisfaction ?
Secondly, I noticed that you are using the Event Rocket plugin. This plugin is no longer supported since version 4.0 of our plugins and is known to break various functionalities at this point.
Would you mind deactivating the plugin temporarily and telling me if the problem persists ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.

Thank you for running the tests as requested and for providing an example as requested.
This allowed me to find the cause of the issue.
What is going on (if you look at the URL after a search OR if you expand the filter bar is that by default the Terminanzeige category is checked).
Removing that check returns the expected results.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

thanks for assistance.
That’s right, but with this category we are able to eliminate events in day view, which extend over a longer period.
Therefore we have selected this category in menu.
The search works well with this category in list view, but not in day view.
That irritates me and I can’t understand.
Best regardsHans-Gerd

Thank you for the additional feedback.
It might very well be a theme customization that’s causing this specifically on the day view then.
There are 2 quick tests you could run to see if that is the case:- Temporarily renaming the /tribe-events/ folder to something like /z_tribe-events/ in you WordPress theme and/or child theme and running the search again.
- Temporarily switching back to a default WordPress theme such as twenty-fifteen and running the search again.
As for your other question, most of the customers I have talked to really enjoy the third-party https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicate-tec-event/ plugin.
I recommend giving it a shot.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

May 19, 2016 at 8:17 pm #1116838Geoff B.MemberHey Hans,
Thank you for your answers.
I have tried to reproduce the issue on my end and I was not able to.
For that reason I went ahead and got a sanity check from one of our senior support analysts. From what he is seeing, it looks like even with twenty-fourteen there is some template customization at play.
Either in your theme’s functions.php or in your theme’s /tribe-events/ folder that uses some form of redirection or URL rewrite to be able to get pretty permalinks such as /veranstaltungen/kategorie/terminanzeige/heute/ , as this is not a built-in function. If you don’t mind, could you send us a copy of your WordPress theme in a .zip file so that we can investigate ?
I can’t promise you anything, but we will certainly take a look.Best regards,
Geoff B.

thanks for the answer and your offer to test the themes.
Possibly it’s easier, if I furnish you an admin access to our test page. I am sending the account data as private reply. To clarify: I don’t change anything at twentyfourteen and don’t use a child theme of twentyfourteen.
Best regards
