ParticipantI added 2 fields (First Name and Last Name) to a ticket so I can collect guest information during checkout. I’m using WooCommerce but when I go through checkout, the fields aren’t showing up so that I can collect the information. Is there a way to debug so I can determine why the fields aren’t showing Up?

MemberGood morning Trey and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the extra fields not showing up.
I would love to help you with this topic.Actually, the fields should show up directly on the event page as you are adding quantity to the cart and not later during the checkout process.
So it looks like there might be a conflict at play or that there is a snippet in place in your theme’s functions.php that’s preventing the normal behaviour.
Could you also please go through our testing for conflicts procedure (preferably in a staging/dev environment or local install of your WordPress website) and let us know what you find out.
Basically the goal here is to revert back to a bare WordPress installation to see if the problem persists. It also allows us to pinpoint what the cause of the issue is.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantOk…I did make changes to the tickets.php page that was originally in the wootickets folder. I have since removed the wootickets plugin (since its replaced by events ticket plus) but it appears its still using the old page. I also cleared the cache but no luck. I’m not sure how the old plugin is still working, but it doesn’t appear this plugin is removed.

MemberHey Trey,
Thank you for taking the time to review your WordPress install.
Based on what you are telling me, it looks like there are some template customizations that are in need of some updates (and that are currently preventing the tickets from displaying normally.
If you take a look at our Themer’s guide: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/ , you will notice that, for the context of customization, we are still using the wootickets folder.
There are a couple of ways to go about this:
- Quickly revert to a default theme such as twenty-fifteen to see if the issue persists and confirm that it’s a theme/customization related issue
- Remove your customizations one by one until you find the culprit
- Send me a copy of your complete theme folder in .zip file (and the original theme as well if you are using a child theme) so that I can take a look at it.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantThanks…here’s the link to the themes folder in dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sb6epx4cwsna2xn/themes.zip?dl=0
I use Function as the theme and my developers created Function-child for my customization.

MemberHey Trey,
Thank you for that.
Just as I thought, the issue is with the customizations done for your theme and child theme. They need updating to work properly.
Just to set expectations, as you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.
Short term, everything will work as it is supposed to if you rename the wootickets folder to z_wootickets as follows:
- /wp-content/themes/function-child/tribe-events/z_wootickets
- /wp-content/themes/function/tribe-events/z_wootickets
Let me know how that goes.
