ParticipantHello! I’m stumped on how to tweak the organizer fields on the community “Submit an Event” page.
I’ve gone over the themer’s guide and successfully tweaked other files by placing a version in mytheme/tribe-events. But no luck with organizer-fields.php. I placed in the location specified, mytheme/tribe-events/community/modules.
I think I might be trying to edit the wrong section. When I removed the option for a URL in the venues field, I just took out that table. That’s what I tried to do in organizer-fields. I think it might be wrong because I went back to to the plugin files themselves and temporarily did the same thing to organizer-fields.php there, and nothing changed either.
Not problem-related, but possibly helpful as to why I’m doing this: Basically, I’m going through and limiting some options because I only want users entering one email address, one website, one phone number because we’ll be referring to specific fields in an export for print. I figure otherwise we risk people putting the URL in either venue, organizer or event, or all three, which would cause it to either be missed or repeated when we print the output.
Thanks!

MemberGood morning William and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about your struggles trying to tweak the organizer fields.
I would love to help you with this topic.Currently, as you can see in our Themer’s guide, there is a limited number of templates that can modified using the /tribe-events/ folder for Community events. Unfortunately, organizer-fields is not one of them.
That being said, there are a couple of ways you can go about this.
- Using a code snippet in your theme’s functions.php https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/additional-fields-for-venues-and-organizers/
- Hiding the undesired fields using CSS
Let me know if you need help with any of these approaches.
Have a great day!

ParticipantThanks for the reply. CSS is a much better solution. All taken care of.
