    Good evening Barbara,

Thank you for writing back and for your system information.

Based on the fact that you are using a Genesis based theme, if you haven’t already done so, I would recommend reading the following: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/genesis-theme-framework-integration/

If that does not help, could you also try emptying the cache from W3 Total cache and re-saving your permalinks.

Additionally, if that still does not work, could you tell me if you are able to change any setting under Events -> Settings -> Display ?

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Melanie,

Thank you for your answer and for being transparent about your dissatisfaction.
That type of feedback enables us to improve on how we deliver support and communicate with our customers.

Please rest assured that I do share the same goal as you: get to the bottom of this issue and solve it as fast as possible.

I have no idea what you mean by zip file to send to you??

I would like to be able to recreate your WordPress environment on my install. Hopefully, this should allow me to reproduce your issue and solve it.
In order to do that, I would need a copy of your current WordPress theme / child theme.

Since these tend to be fairly big, the best way to send me that copy would be through a .zip file containing them.
You could then place that .zip file on your Dropbox or Google Drive account which in turn would allow you to simply provide me with a link to download them.

However, since the last update, I have yet ANOTHER glitch, so far 10 thumbs down for event calendar pro, I am a paying customer and not getting what needs to be fixed done…

That is terrible news. It does seem indeed like there is a conflict at play.

Until I get a copy of your WordPress theme, would you mind doing the following (this has helped solved similar issues in the past):

    1. Deactivate / Reactivate Pro only
    2. Re-save the permalinks

These glitches need to be fixed as soon as possible. My website is for my business and is my business card to the world – and I purchased Event Calendar Pro in order to use it, not to have so many errors and glitches.

I could not agree with you more. The faster we can find what is causing the issue on your install the faster we will be able to fix this.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Glenn,

Thank you for sharing that awesome video. It did make me laugh 🙂

Adding a plugin to tackle the issue is a great idea. There is also another plugin that achieves similar results: https://wordpress.org/plugins/nav-menu-roles/

Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you on this topic until we release the fixes.

Best regards and thank you for everything,

    Good evening Greg,

Awesome. Let me know when you do upgrade.

I appreciate the great words and I am truly sorry to hear that you have not received answers that were satisfactory to you.
I will discuss this matter with George so that we are on the same page and get back to you.

In the meantime, regarding that specific thread, what is going on is that a few of the slugs no longer get translated properly since the latest update.
These include: category, venue and organizer slugs.

Simply put, we are working hard at fixing all of these and I personally am not happy about the current state of things as we are trying to increase WPML compatibility, not the other way around.

For now, there are only a handful of ways to correct this (none are perfect unfortunately):

    1. After a backup, roll back to version 4.1.4 of our plugins
    2. Remove the category slug translation both from your string translation interface AND in the .po/.mo language file of your secondary language. I have tested this and it works for all 3 faulty slugs. The obvious down side is that these slugs will appear in the wrong language for now

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

Hang in there as we get to the bottom of this sticky situation.

    Have a great day!

    Good evening Scott,

Thank you for your reply and the files.
I am glad the snippet worked for you.

I took a look at your theme. As I suspected, it does not follow the standard post loop, which is why the events do not get added even while switching the home page to “Latest posts”

That being said I am pretty sure it could be done. Here are a couple of articles on this topic:

Just to set expectations, as you might know, the scope of our support is mostly to get our customers started on the right track and to help them in case of issues. We unfortunately do not provide complete support for customization.

So from here, this leaves you with the following options:

    1. Continue your duplicate posts
    2. Contact your theme author to see what they recommend for adding custom post types in the loop
    3. Hire one of our recommended customizers to do the customization for you.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Best regards,

    Hey Stefan,

Thank you for your answer. You will be informed as soon as this feature is out.
In the meantime, perhaps it would be worth exploring the idea from this thread: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/conditional-language-shortcode/

When done correctly, it should allow you to use shortcodes in that label field, which in turn will result in proper language display.

    Best regards,

    Hello all,

Slight update on this one. Dev as confirmed that a snippet is possible to fix this and have started working on it.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. I will keep following up on this one.

    Hey Paul,

    Thank you for writing back.

You just made me realize that I should have communicated my fix better. Here is what I missed:

    • Before deleting the rows, I actually made sure that I deactivated our plugins
    • In certain cases, you might have to go a bit overboard and also delete any other tribe_ rows that could be in there
    • Before re-saving the permalinks, I reactivated our plugins

Let me know if that helps.

    Have a great day!

Secondly, could you try the following:

    1. Setting your permalinks to %postname% and saving them (or re-saving them)
    2. Install the Database Browser plugin
    3. Tell me if you are comfortable using phpMyAdmin ?

    Best regards,

Good evening Steve and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear about the events not showing up after the update.
I would love to help you with this topic.

The reason I am asking is because it is always useful to have the complete content of that screen.

Secondly, it seems that you are running a couple of versions behind for your PHP server and your WordPress version.
As a side note, WordPress recommends PHP 5.6+, but I have found that PHP5.4+ usually works for all scenarios.

Third, I would recommend trying the following in case it helps:

    • Going to Events -> Settings -> Display and re-saving your settings
    • Going to Settings > Permalinks and re-saving your settings

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

    Good evening Oscar,

    Thank you for your answer.

I want to apologize again for the inconvenience of recurring events not being supported properly with WPML at the time of writing.
I absolutely understand how this is frustrating and I can assure you that we are working very hard at fixing this as fast as possible.

Thank for your invitation to login. Unfortunately, our policy does not allow us to log in to clients websites for several reasons, including liability.

At best, I could offer a walkthrough of the phpMyAdmin procedure, but as I suggested earlier, I understand that this a completely manual fix for something that we are trying to repair.

The good news is you are fully entitled to a refund if you want one since you are within 30 days of your purchase. To obtain the refund, you just need to follow the procedure described here.

    Best regards,

By the looks of it, I believe you are either:

    1. Using an older version of our Ticket plugins
    2. There is a theme or plugin conflict at play

I’ll be able to tell after looking at the system information.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
