ParticipantThe Event Tickets portion of my Events pages isn’t displaying properly. Through troubleshooting, I’ve discovered the problem could be easily solved if I were to switch the ‘Events template’ back to ‘Default Events Template’. It just doesn’t display properly when using a 100% Width template (Avada theme). Unfortunately, when I change the template value and save my changes – it doesn’t actually save my changes. I do get a message at the top of the screen that says ‘Settings saved’, but nope.
I have reverted to the twenty sixteen and twenty fourteen themes, and ONLY have the following plugins enabled:
-Event Tickets Plus version 4.2 by Modern Tribe, Inc.(http://m.tri.be/28)
-Event Tickets version 4.2 by Modern Tribe, Inc.(http://m.tri.be/28)
-The Events Calendar version 4.2 by Modern Tribe, Inc.(http://m.tri.be/1x)Unfortunately, I still cannot change the template value (or other settings in Settings>Display). I am newish to wordpress, and don’t understand much other than the wordpress interface. In other words, I wouldn’t know how to access the database directly, or where to look for any error logs on the server.

ParticipantI probably should have mentioned, I’m not having trouble saving any other pages – including other settings for the Event Calendar and Event Tickets plugins.

MemberGood evening Brandon and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the fact that you are unable to save these settings.
I would love to help you with this topic. The first thing I would recommend is to re-save your permalinks.
Secondly, would you mind opening up the Google Chrome inspector and seeing if there is any error message in the console as you are trying to save these settings ?
Finally, was there, at some point, a caching plugin on the site ?
Have a good week-end,
Geoff B.

ParticipantThanks for offering some direction so quickly. TLDR; No change in the problem. See below for details.
1. I resaved permalinks (Settings>Permalinks>Save Changes) but that didn’t seem to have any effect.
2. The console didn’t throw anything that looked like an error. The only entry in the console while saving changes appears to be the same or similar as on every other action.
load-scripts.php?c=0&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils&ver=4.5.2:9 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.0
3. I didn’t think there was a caching plugin ever installed, but when I checked, I found ‘WP Super Cache’ version 1.4.8. It was inactive – but I deleted it to see if it would make a difference. Unfortunately there is no change.

ParticipantI have the exact same problem on WordPress 4.5.2 and The Events Calendar 5.3.8.1.
I have no caching plugin installed or errors in the console and I resaved the permalinks.

MemberHey Brandon (and Paul),
Thank you for your answer. I am sorry that these steps did not help out.
Based on that I went ahead and ran a bunch of tests on a wide variety of installs.
The “good news” is that I was able to reproduce the issue.I noticed that there were a couple of issues on that install in the wp_options table after upgrading to 4.2. (which might also be your case):
- On that install, I had the Redirection plugin installed. For some unknown reason, this automatically generated a bunch of random redirections which in turn impacted the redirection and rewrite_rules rows
- Secondly, the tribe_events_calendar_options was being duplicated
So here is what I did to fix the issue (using phpMyAdmin and after a database backup):
- I deleted the redirection and rewrite_rules rows in the wp_options table
- I deleted both rows for tribe_events_calendar_optionsin the wp_options table
- Set my permalinks to postname and re-saved them
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

MemberHey Paul,
Thank you for writing back.
You just made me realize that I should have communicated my fix better. Here is what I missed:
- Before deleting the rows, I actually made sure that I deactivated our plugins
- In certain cases, you might have to go a bit overboard and also delete any other tribe_ rows that could be in there
- Before re-saving the permalinks, I reactivated our plugins
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantThat did the trick.
I tried the same things that Paul tried with no success, but with your followup comments, Geoff, I have gotten past my block. Unfortunately, the page still doesn’t save my settings after the first time I make a change – but I’m able to choose the template I need for now. Hopefully in a future update I will be able to make changes at will to further tweak my events.
Note: I did have to delete all of the rows beginning with tribe_
Thanks so much, Geoff!

MemberThank you for your feedback Paul,
I realize this is less than ideal, but I’m glad it helps in the meantime.
The bugfix is currently undergoing the QA process and it is one of our top priorities.
If you are subscribed to this thread, you should be notified as soon as the fix is out.
We appreciate your patience as we try to squash that bug.
Best regards,
Geoff B.
