Good evening Oscar and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!

Thank you for reaching out to us and for providing your system information.

We are sorry to hear about the issues you are dealing with while trying to create an event every week. I would love to help you with this topic.

As as starting point, would you mind sending me a screenshot of the Edit event page where you are trying to create that recurring weekly event ?

Furthermore, I notice that you are using WPML. There is a strong chance that this could be the cause of the issue.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but recurring events with WPML is one of the very few features that is not fully supported for Pro. I want to apologize for the inconvenience.

The good news is that we are working on a fix for that as we are speaking.
Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point. But stay tuned!

The other good news is that there is a manual workaround for it in the meantime.
That workaround involves being confortable with accessing the Database of your website using phpMyAdmin.

Let me know if you would be interested in the breakdown for that ?

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Good evening Oscar,

    Thank you for the screenshot.

Before we begin, on a related note, I have found that recurring events tend to work better when using a city related timezone (e.g.: Barcelona) instead of UTC 0. If you are still having issues after my workaround, I would try changing that.

    Cause of the issue:

The parent post of the recurring events though and it’s translated counterpart, are registered properly in that table icl_translations DB table (as a normal post would), along with their language_code. That database table is what WPML uses to map out what post is in what language.

When the recurring event posts are created in both languages, they are not sent to the icl_translations DB table (as a normal post would).

As such, they don’t get assigned a language_code, which in turn means that they do not get returned for display because, according to the table WPML uses, they “don’t exist”.

    Solution:

Deactivating and reactivating the WPML plugin forces an entry in the icl_translations DB table FOR EACH post found in the wp_posts table.
EACH entry created that way gets the default language assigned as its language_code.

As an alternative, you could accomplish similar results with the WPML debug page (look for the button to assign a language to each post)

You will now need to use phpMyAdmin and look at icl_translations DB table FOR EACH recurring event post and make sure the correct language code is assigned.

I realize this is not great, but it does work in the meantime.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.

    Hi,

I would like you to help me, I do not know to adjust those changes. I purchased your program because it is compatible with WPML. I need to fix this problem, because it is necessary for my work, if I can not resolve I’ll have to ask them the return of the program.

If you need access, please ask.

    Thanks

    Good evening Oscar,

    Thank you for your answer.

I want to apologize again for the inconvenience of recurring events not being supported properly with WPML at the time of writing.
I absolutely understand how this is frustrating and I can assure you that we are working very hard at fixing this as fast as possible.

Thank for your invitation to login. Unfortunately, our policy does not allow us to log in to clients websites for several reasons, including liability.

At best, I could offer a walkthrough of the phpMyAdmin procedure, but as I suggested earlier, I understand that this a completely manual fix for something that we are trying to repair.

The good news is you are fully entitled to a refund if you want one since you are within 30 days of your purchase. To obtain the refund, you just need to follow the procedure described here.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
