ParticipantI updated to 4.2 and now all of the events are not showing. I have deactivated all plugins and still nothing. I do not have the ticket plugin but I do have events calendar pro. Please let me know the steps to fix this? Do I need to down grade both the main plugin and the pro plugin? Thank you!

MemberGood evening Steve and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
We are sorry to hear about the events not showing up after the update.
I would love to help you with this topic.As a first troubleshooting step, could you please provide us with your complete system information in a private reply using the instructions found in the following link?
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
The reason I am asking is because it is always useful to have the complete content of that screen.
Secondly, it seems that you are running a couple of versions behind for your PHP server and your WordPress version.
As a side note, WordPress recommends PHP 5.6+, but I have found that PHP5.4+ usually works for all scenarios.Third, I would recommend trying the following in case it helps:
- Going to Events -> Settings -> Display and re-saving your settings
- Going to Settings > Permalinks and re-saving your settings
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

MemberGood evening Steve,
Thank you for the system information.
I am not sure if the suggestions I gave you had any impact.
Would you care to comment on these ?I would absolutely recommend the PHP upgrade if possible (you might want to talk to your web host about this).
Furthermore, could you send me a screenshot of your settings under Events -> Settings -> General ?
Could you also tell me what your WP memory limit is set at in your wp-config.php file ?
Finally, is it possible at some point that there was a caching plugin on this website ?
Have a great day!

MemberHey Steve,
I’m sorry this is still not working for you.
I will check this thread over the weekend (normally we are closed to help with a timely resolution).
Error 500 typically stem from corrupted .htaccess file or not enough memory (you might want to take a look at the .htaccess file or send me a copy).
As a first step, could you add a line to increase your memory as described here: https://docs.woothemes.com/document/increasing-the-wordpress-memory-limit/
Secondly, could you also hit the “Merge duplicates” button I am seeing on your screenshot.
Finally, can you check if there is an actual page in your Pages that has the “events” slug ? For things to work, it’s important that no page has that slug (since our calendar is actually not a real page).
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

MemberHello Steve,
I am so sorry, you are still stuck with the 500 error message.
As I was reviewing this thread, I noticed that you have not confirmed if upgrading your PHP version was possible. Could you please tell me if that’ an option ? I highly recommend this for many reasons.
As for the memory, you could probably tackle that with your wp-config.php file (which was the first option in my previously shared link).
If none of these things are possible for you, your only short term option would be to downgrade:
- You can find the previous versions of our premium plugins here: https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/
- You can find the previous versions of the Events Calendar free here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/developers/
The downside of this is that unless you can increase your memory or your PHP version (I am not sure which one will solve the issue), it looks like you might be prevented from updating on your current install.
Full disclosure, if I were in your shoes, I would absolutely discuss this with my web host.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantOk, i have updated the php to 5.4.45 when your first said too and I have also create a php info file: https://memoryandmotion.org/info.php
It says memory is 512.I also added this to info.php like what was in the instructions and this is what my file looks like
<?php
phpinfo();
memory_limit = 64M ; Maximum amount of memory a script may consume (64MB)

MemberGood evening Steve,
I am sorry that the problem persists even with an upgraded version of PHP.
I am not sure how your webhost tackles memory, so you might want to discuss this part with them.
On my end, aside from my suggestion to downgrade, could you please send me a copy of your WordPress theme / child theme in a .zip file link (via Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ?
Best regards,
Geoff B.
